Rain Forest

Rain Forest by Joan Cook

"Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig-tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done.'" Matthew 21:21

A few years ago on a mission project to Costa Rica, our team had the opportunity to go into the rain forest. We boarded a six person aerial tram that was to take us two miles into the rain forest and then turn and come two miles back out. How excited we all were to see the beautiful plants, flowers, wildlife, and beauty of the rain forest. We even saw Toucans! Our tram climbed to the top of the rain forest so we could have an overview of the beauty!

We had traveled about a mile and a half when it began to storm! It was thundering and lightning so badly we were afraid it would strike the tram. About that time, Kaboom! Our tram came to a stop one hundred feet above the ground! We waited for the rain to subside for our tram to begin again, but when the rain ended, our tram remained still! For three hours we were stuck waiting for the problem to be fixed.

Our tour guide informed us that help was on the way, but we would have to rappel out of the cable car one hundred feet to the ground! My son, who was 21 at the time, threw his hands in the air, and said with excitement, "I can't believe I'm in the rain forest in Costa Rica, stuck in a cable car, 100 feet up in the air and I get to rappel"! At the same time, the response of a 40 year old woman (myself), was, "I can't believe I'm in the rain forest in Costa Rica, stuck in a cable car, 100 feet up in the air and I have to rappel!" Needless to say, we all made it to the ground and out of the rain forest safely!

Isn't that just like our response to God sometimes? "God, you've brought me this far and I know you're taking care of me, but you want me to do what? You want me to just jump out of my comfort zone and let you do the rest? God, do you know how hard, how scary, how uncomfortable that is for me?" God would rather us have the attitude my son had of excitement and anticipation of what He wants to do in and through us!

The Lord knows what our potential is in Him and He also knows our limitations! God is telling us to break out of our comfort zone and step out in faith knowing He will be there to catch us! Take that first leap of faith; He'll do the rest!

Daily Prayer Focus: Lord, thank you that you are always there for me when it is time to step out of my comfort zone.

Am I Going To Please God or Man

Am I Going To Please God or Man by Carey Smith

"O the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him. Then these men said, 'We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.'" Daniel 6:4-5

Do you wonder how others see you? Are you afraid they judge you as unwise or inconsiderate? Do you make every effort in the world to make people like you? Many of us are so concerned about what other people think, especially when it involves what they think about us.

God is concerned with how others view you. There is a specific thing God wants others to see when they look at you. In 1 Peter 3:15-16, it says, "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander."

Do you see the key words in here? They are "In Christ."

God wants others to see the glory of His Son in us. When the administrators tried to find something against Daniel, they could find nothing. Even they admitted the only thing they could do was order a law that would make Daniel choose between God and man, and they knew Daniel would choose God. But just as in Daniel's case, it is guaranteed that if you live your life as God desires, some will not like you, in fact, they will hate you.

So when we concern ourselves about how others see us, we need to ask ourselves, am I going to please God or man?

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that you will maintain your focus as a Christian. Pray that your primary concern today will be to please and honor God in all that you say and do.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's GoCamp ministry that trains believers all over the world how to share their faith.

The Next Step!

The Next Step! - By Keith Cook

"Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given us let each exercise them accordingly." Romans 12:6

Have you ever been on a mission project for God or been a part of a unique outreach event? Do you remember the, "What do I do now?" feeling, after the event was over?

I want to ask you to think about what God may be calling you to do long term as a result of your past mission projects or similar services for God.

What has God shown you about yourself as you have ministered?

What has God shown you about your ministry skills and calling?

Where is God leading you to minister next?

Let me offer a few suggestions.

1. God wants you to minister to your family by sharing with them all that you can remember about your ministry experiences. Begin to think of stories and fun things that God did or people you met that impressed you. You can also minister to them by showing them your life and example of how much God has focused you and how He has worked in your life.

2. God wants you to minister to your home church. You owe it to your friends and fellow Christians back home to come back fired up and full of new ideas and commitment for the work of God. Help start a fire in your local church. At least two people should catch your fire and pass on your legacy of service for God.

3. God wants you to minister for life. Once you have caught the mission and evangelism bug you can never be cured. You will always know that your life can make a difference if you are "on the go!"

As you go out for God remember these three things and God will take you to the next step for you in Christian service.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God would tell you where to go and minister next. Plan early. Start saving now. So many people never get to go for God because they plan too late.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Travel Mercies and the Keith and Joan and the entire team travel home today!

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

NoMission or GoMission

NoMission or GoMission by Keith Cook Sr.

"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 15:58

We saw hundreds of people come to know Christ recently in Uganda. Our team was made up of Ugandan and United States evangelists who each shared a passion to be on God's GoMission together in Uganda. God used each one in a special way and we all worked as one.

Our driver for the week was a full time Ugandan evangelist. He had a powerful delivery style and creative mind. He and I have had such fun talking about our calling and encouraging each other to continue till everyone has been reached for our Lord.

During one of our school assemblies I found out that one of our team members had gone to school there as a child. So I called on her to close out our assembly with a personal challenge. She is a dancer by calling but very shy when she speaks, but not on that day. She boldly called out to the students their need to follow Christ and give Him all their lives. We saw a tremendous response that day. God used us the team in a mighty way to take His message to the youth of this generation.

There are basically just two approaches that believers can have concerning the call God has or has not put on their lives; they either believe they have a "NoMission" approach or are strategically a part of a very important "GoMission."

Those on a NoMission:

1. Feel Unqualified - They do not see how God could ever use them.

2. Feel Unprepared - They waste time on the cares of the world and spend little time learning how to be effective ministers of the Gospel.

3. Feel Unproductive - They rarely see God use their words and actions to inspire others to come to faith in Christ or follow Him more passionately.

4. Feel Uninspired - They do not have a burden to reach the lost or take the message to those who do not know Christ.

Those on a GoMission:

1. They know they have been Picked Divinely By God and therefore qualified and directed by the Holy Spirit to be on Mission for God.

2. They are Purpose Driven Disciples who are constantly preparing to minister, ever ready, ever longing to share and be used, ever looking for an opening to speak a word for Christ. They try, practice, and fine-tune their methods and message to be ready in every way.

3. They are Progressively Effective Evangelists and see God using them in many different ways to bring  life change.

4. They are Passionate About Their GoMission and want to see everyone falling in love with the Messiah. They are inspired by the Master and by the massive needs they see. No mountain is to high to climb and no valley too deep to traverse. They are on a GoMission with God.

Right now there is an unequalled opportunity to do the work of the Lord across the street and around the world.  Don't be overwhelmed and work in the flesh. Rather join with God and go on mission with Him.

Don't forget that it really is His mission and you are His servant. In the past He used someone to bring His message to you and now it is time for you to do the same.  Since God has called you and daily cares for you, He will also use you to multiply the Gospel around the world. Are you willing to join with Him on your own special "GoMission?"

Daily Prayer Focus:  Pray that God will enable you today to fulfill His Call and walk in step with His will, prepare you to be Purpose Driven, Effective Evangelist, and Passionate about the GoMission He has for you to fulfill.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Those who need to make decisions for Christ as On The Go and the Keith Cook Team shares the Gospel around the world. Pray that they will hear a clear message about Christ, that the Holy Spirit will move them to a point of decision and that they will be bold enough to publicly respond for Christ. Pray for our On The Go Team as they minister this week in Montana.  They will be ministering in local churches, communities, parks, schools, and more! Pray for those who hear the Gospel message, that they will make a Decision for Christ.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

The Ritz

The Ritz - Keith Cook

"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and YOU SHALL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light." Matthew 11:28-30

Recently, God blessed my family with a great opportunity to stay at the Ritz Carlton in Jamaica. While on a mission project the manager there wanted to bless us with a great deal because my wife had been ministering on the island for so long. We quickly accepted their offer. (We actually stayed there cheaper than what the local Christian camp would charge us!) This place is a dream hotel. I have never stayed in a more luxurious place.

When we work in a country or in a neighborhood we totally submerge ourselves in the work. We do not think of our comfort. We often eat our food out of the can that it came in and some of our meals come out of our backpacks if they come at all. It is not very glamorous. The work is hot, long, tiring, and demanding, yet very rewarding.

On this particular project in Jamaica it was such a blessing to be able to share each day and be completely worn out with ministry fatigue and then come back to a "home" that was clean, cool, peaceful.

It sort of reminded me of what the angels must experience when they work on the earth and then get to go back to Heaven. Can you imagine being in the presence of God? How majestic, how absolutely wonderful it must be hard to leave His presence and actually go on His errands.

Each of us have been called to come close to God and have fellowship with Him but we also are called to go out for Him and do His will among the people. As we go for Christ we are assured that as we get tired and weary we can come back home to Him and renew our strength.

1. What has God asked you to do for Him lately?

2. Have you done it?

3. When was the last time you had a "Ritz" experience with God? (A time of rest and reflection in the middle of working for Him.)

There may be those on earth who dress better or eat better, but those who enjoy the peace of God sleep better. L. Thomas Holdcroft, Page 183, Thoughts, McLellan

Daily Prayer Focus: Thank God that He delights in blessing you with "Ritz" experiences throughout your journey of life.

On The Go Prayer Focus: All the local churches, committees, and leaders who will be working with On The Go Ministries and the Keith Cook Team in creative outreach efforts in the United States and around the world. Pray for Keith and Joan as they minister in Montana!

Labor of Love

Labor of Love by Laurie McTier

News Event: Montana GoTeam Project in Darby Montana - July 18-July 25, 2015!

"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom." Ecclesiastes 9:10

The Bible says that all hard work leads to profit and mere talk leads to poverty. Mere talk leads to many things such as hopelessness, drought, sin of not following through, and possibly eternal death.

On the other side of the scale, labor yields profit, seeds planted and a bountiful harvest, obedience, blessing, eternal life, hope.

As we look back on the events of September 11, 2001, our heart grieves for the innocent victims murdered in the disastrous attack upon our country. I believe that God has opened our eyes to many needs for young people and adults to turn to Him wholeheartedly. God has given us this window of opportunity to share our faith to those to whom He has already ripened and prepared for harvest.

As we celebrated into the new millennium and went into the year 2000, it was so exciting to observe different races and cultures around the world ring in the new year. Now, we have a new countdown in effect. This can be referred to as the Countdown for God's Work.

The destiny clock is ticking, the window of opportunity is passing by more quickly than we choose to consider. I challenge you to take advantage of this window of opportunity to share the love of Jesus Christ with those within your circle of influence. I know that you will be glad you did as it will yield eternal revenues.

Daily Prayer Focus: Ask God to show you some great or small thing to do for someone else today. Look around!

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go Ministry Supporters. It takes teamwork to make the dream work! Our ministry supporters have made commitments to play a vital part of our team through praying, sharing, caring, going, and growing. As our GoTeam ministers in Montana this week, would you serve as a Ministry Supporter by praying for our team that God will open doors and change hearts and lives for His glory.

Praise God in the Midst of Suffering

Praise God in the Midst of Suffering by Keith Cook

News Event:  Montana GoTeam Outreach set for July 18-25, 2015. Pray for Keith and Joan and the Proclaimers as they share the Love of Christ!

"For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps." 1 Peter 2:21

Hard conditions and situations in life are often used by God to show us just how blessed we are and also how selfish and self centered we can be.

Many times in ministry situations we find ourselves saying "I could be back in Niceville, eating bon bons and watching 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' reruns." The truth is you can always be somewhere else, rather than following God's direction, but you would not be in God's perfect will for your life!

In the Bible three boys were about to be roasted in a fiery furnace, yet they chose the heat over the comforts of life and happiness.

Where we come from may be better than where we are, but we will have it better where we are going. You see, we are going to Heaven one day where the streets are paved with gold and mansions line those streets.

If you are serving God today in a foreign land on a mission trip or simply in your own neighborhood you are where you are so that someone else might walk down those streets of gold with you.

All the people you will see today deserve to see you praising God in the midst of your "suffering."

No matter what you may be enduring, lack of money, no friends, bad job, hot climate, etc... God can use you to bless someone. You have been called for a purpose, and that is to glorify God in your body.

What areas of your life are areas of suffering?

What areas of your life are areas of blessing?

What is God calling you to do for Him in the middle of all your suffering and blessings?

Praise always leads to service.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for Divine Appointments today so that you might share your testimony with others and share God's promises with them.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Keith and Joan Cook as they minister in Darby, Montana through July 25, 2015.  Pray for the team as they travel today.

Ten Talents & Endless Possibilities

Ten Talents & Endless Possibilities by Keith Cook Jr.

"...Do business till I come." Luke 19:13

According to joshuaproject.net, there are 6.73 billion people on earth. Out of those 6.73 billion, 2.97 billion fall into the category of Unreached or Least-Reached.  That's 2.97 billion people who have possibly never heard the gospel.

What a glorious blessing to be the one who is able to reach out to some of these unreached people. Although the task can seem at times burdensome we are given strength to persevere and finish the race we have been commanded to run. Don't allow the devil to manipulate you into thinking someone else will go and share the good news with them or allow you to forget about this mission altogether.

In Luke 19:11-27 Jesus told the disciples a parable about a nobleman who had ten talents. The nobleman gave his servants ten talents or coins before he left on a long journey. He was expecting the servants to use what he had given them wisely and to multiply his investment.

As we see upon his return the coins were not given to be buried (hidden) and kept out of reach (safe) but to be used to create (invest, expand, reach out) more coins.

This parable also applies to us today. We do not have to look very far to notice that there are many people who need what we have, the Gospel. The Gospel is God's saving power for them. We have been given so much more than coins. We have been give the great opportunity to give away the good news of salvation in Christ Jesus.

Because of God's grace towards us we are now given the command to go for Him.  "Go and make disciples of all nations" today.(Matt. 28:19) He has given us more than ten talents. He has given us unlimited possibilities and scores of opportunities around us. We need to take the talents given, allow the Holy Spirit to lead and empower us, and invest them in winning the lost and serving the Lord.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's Outreach Training Schools (OTS). In our OTS, young people and adults are trained to go to the next level in their service to God. Pray for On The Go as we train believers to make a difference in their generation.

Christian Responsibility!

Christian Responsibility! by Keith Cook

"Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap, if we do not grow weary. While we have time let us do good to all men..." Galatians 6:9, 10

Our future is as bright as the promises of God. God wants us to know that He is here for us, Ready for us, and There is something beyond this present day! It is called Heaven and it is prepared for those of us who know Him.

Your future is secure if your future is in Him. So cheer up, you can get out of here, when He wants you. But until He wants you, He is with you. So, what can befall you that does not first come through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Why should we be discouraged, if God be for you, who can be against you?

What does your future hold? More opportunities, more open doors, more trials, more obstacles, more experiences to see that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Do not hide this week from your Christian responsibilities but loudly celebrate, lovingly care, laboriously cultivate and longingly communicate your faith.

You should Loudly Celebrate and Rejoice in the Life you have in Christ.

You can Lovingly Care for every person you come in contact with this week.

You must Laboriously Cultivate friendships and relationships that God can divinely use for the Kingdom and cultivate our own knowledge of the Word and Ways of God. You must Longingly Communicate the love of Christ to all who will listen.

1. Are you ready to be responsible for doing your part as a Christian to minister for Christ this week?

2. What must you do to be ready at all times to be used of God?

3. Rate yourself as to how responsible you have been in the past in doing what God would have you do in ministry for Him.

4. Rate your Christian life in general!

God wants you to do good to all men!

Daily Prayer Focus: God give us sensitive hearts so that we may hear your instruction as we seek Your will for our lives today. Be responsible and obedient to His direction.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's USA Outreach Effort. God has placed a United States effort on the heart and mind of the On The Go Team. Three key objectives are sharing, praying, and training in every county in the USA using On The Go Advance Teams, Training Teams, Planning Teams, Prayer Teams, GoTeams, and Outreach Efforts.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

The Cardinal Rules

The Cardinal Rules by Keith Cook

"But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to obey his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and all your soul." Joshua 22:5

Each morning before I go to work I take a glance out into my back yard to see how my wild birds are doing. They really are not my wild birds nor are they all that wild. They are free and not controlled by me yet they are not ferocious or wild in a terrible sense.

They are exciting in an animal kingdom kind of way but also calm and harmless in my domestic neighborhood. Every day I see them eat, drink, fly, sing and call, build nest, fight off predators, and explore the neighborhood skies. Each bird and species is quite unique and special to me. Yet, there is one kind of bird that makes my heart dance. It is the Northern Cardinal. It has a majestic pointed head, long powerful wings and tail along with a bright read coat. They are usually full bodied and sit tall on the ground or in the trees.

I love looking at the Robins, Mockingbirds, Bluejays, Morning Doves, Finches, and the other winged creatures that visit my yard each day but the Cardinal makes me the happiest. Each day is not complete unless I can spot him in the bird bath or sitting on a bird feeder getting seed. If I do not see him I wonder if he has been harmed or has flown off to a new yard and will never return. What joy fills my heart when I can catch a quick glance and know that he is okay and still sitting tall.

In a spiritual way so too is our relationship with Christ.

Everyday our Lord longs to see us and He wants to greet us.

He wants to feed us on His word.  He wants to offer us living water to cool our parched souls and spirits.

We are the apple of His eye and he delights in us and wants to spend time with us.

Just like, in the Bible, when the shepherd notices one of his sheep missing and goes off and searches for it until he finds it so does our Saviour search and long for us.

Also our desire to see Jesus should be the same. We should long to meet with Him each day. Be disappointed when we can not spend time with Him. He should make our heart dance and give us a joyful song.

One of the most unique things about our almighty God is that to Him all of us are special. Every man and woman are the most important creature He has made - individually.

There is an all powerful, all knowing and awesome God-only ability to be all places at the same time. That makes it possible for God to love us most while loving someone else the same way. I do not understand it but it is true. God is able.

If God loves you so much why not love Him back in the most humble and obedient way. The Bible says that obeying God is better than to bringing Him sacrifices. It also says we are to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind. What God wants is for us to love Him and obey Him out of commitment and loyalty.

Today make God special in your life because you already are to Him!

Daily Prayer Focus: Praise God for His unending, eternal love. Renew your commitment to God today to serve Him in obedience wholeheartedly.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's USA Outreach Effort. God has placed a United States effort on the heart and mind of the On The Go Team. Feeding The Birds

Feeding The Birds by Keith Cook

News Event: On The Go Montana GoTeam Outreach is set for July 17-July 25, 2015. We will have teams ministering in Darby, Montana and the Surrounding Area!

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" Matthew 6:26

Lately I have been inundated with back to nature experiences. I have been stalked by a hawk, greeted by a Pileated Woodpecker, dodged deer on the road, and swam with dolphins.

I decided that it was time for me to do my part to keep the wild animals alive and well. So down to the local wild bird store I went, bought some organic gourmet bird seed, several bird feeders and set out to feed birds in my back yard.

Prior to setting up my feeding stations I had never seen more than a few birds in my yard at a time. After setting up my four feeders a wonderful backyard transformation took place. I no longer had a yard like Noah's Ark, with birds two by two, now I had scores of birds flocking to my "sanctuary." It has been quite comical to see all the birds fighting and fluttering to get to the seeds.

The first day the bird feeders were up I noticed about ten birds at a time at the feeders. They were enjoying the free lunch. I wanted the birds to have a cool drink with their seed so I went out, bought, and installed a bird bath. After a few days with an abundance of food and water the party was in full swing.

Now, after almost a month of feeding and watering the birds, I am still enjoying the experience and they seem to like it too. It seems that each day more and more birds are coming to be feed at my feeders. They have become old friends. I look for each one. Joan has even gotten into watching and listening to them.  They really chatter at us when the feeders are empty. They also are not as jittery when we are outside in their proximity.

Where we use to have a handful of birds we now have twenty or thirty at a time and they are eating like crazy.  They seem to enjoy the food, water, and attention and it is good for me to see them and relax and enjoy God's creation.

As my little wild birds are fed each day so can we be fed by the Word of God. This is vital and important for us as Christians. There is nothing like it. God has given us the Word to help us grow and enjoy the Christian life. Just like my little wild birds need seed to feed on so we need to feed on God's divinely inspired word. It will sustain us over the long haul of life.

You will gain more and more insights into God's will for your life if you will keep with a regular and consistent Bible study time. Each day you need to feast on God's Word and delve into the riches of it's pages. In the Bible the mysteries of life are revealed and the pathway to spiritual prosperity is illuminated. Do not neglect or not avail yourself to such a wonder diet.

Jesus Christ wants to feed you today. Make sure you come to the table!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God will open your eyes and ears to feast on His Word today and show You specifically the word that He has for you.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Keith Cook's Hands-On-Training Events. This is our Outreach Training School on the road. Keith and the On The Go Team share all across the USA and Worldwide in fun and creative ways that people can serve Jesus and make an impact in this generation!

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Where Does Your Motivation Lie

Where Does Your Motivation Lie by Laurie McTier

"And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up." 1 Corinthians 13:3, 4

What motivates you to action? Are you moved when you see the needs of others? Do you respond out of a heart of love and compassion, or out of guilt and a sense of responsibility? The Bible says that without love, our service will be unprofitable. Unless we are motivated by our love for Jesus Christ, we will quickly grow weary and burn out.

As you serve the Lord today, allow His agenda to become your own. The Bible tells us to seek first the Kingdom of God. The apostle Paul was compelled to serve God. Because of his love for God and those to whom he ministered to, he was driven to serve and to proclaim the Good News.

What is your motivating factor? Do others see Jesus in YOU!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that your motivation to serve will be your love for Jesus Christ.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go Publications & Media Team. We are striving to saturate and minister to a contemporary culture and society through modern media. This division includes our audio, video, internet, and written materials. Through these various ministries we reach out, train, and inspire Christians to action.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Street Witness

Street Witness by Joan Cook

"And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did." John 4:39

While in Costa Rica, on a mission project, I had the opportunity to speak with a girl in a plaza in downtown San Jose. While our team was performing a drama and preaching in the plaza, a girl named Ann Marie walked up to me and asked to receive a booklet that we were passing out.

The booklet was the Gospel of John and after giving her a copy I began talking with her about the Bible. She began telling me how she did not know much about God or the Bible. It was a great opportunity for me to talk with her about who God was and how He had changed my life. She listened very intently to my personal testimony and was amazed to find out how much Jesus loved her and had a wonderful plan for her life. God had used me to help make a difference in her life!

In the book of John, chapter 4, the Bible tells us that the woman at the well had an encounter with Jesus. She then hurried to tell others what He had done for her. The Bible says, "many believed because of the testimony of the woman!" Just one lady had made a dramatic difference in so many lives just by sharing what Christ had done in her own life. Sharing your own personal encounter with Jesus can change someone's life forever. We can make a difference in the lives of those we meet.

Do not underestimate what one person, YOU, can do for the kingdom!

Daily Prayer Focus: Focus on the one thing that keeps you from sharing your faith or living for God. Decide today to give that issue to God and move into God's perfect will for your life.

On The Go Prayer Focus: GoTeams. GoTeams are teams of young people and adults ministering throughout the world who want to make an impact in another individuals life for Christ.  Pray for Keith and Joan as they are traveling back to Nashville today. Praise God for all of the decisions that were made for Christ in New York City and Oshkosh, Wisconsin this week! Please join us in praying for the Folllowup Team Members as they reach out to those who made a new commitment to Christ.

Our World!

Our World! By Keith Cook

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

We need to understand our world.

Our world is a Dark World full of evil, violence, drugs, sex, and abuse. Evil gets more vocal and front page all the time. Once we are shocked often enough we then become complacent and numb to the abnormal and profane.

Our world is also a very vocal Third World full of hungry, needy and emerging people. Because of past neglect and abuse many of the under capitalized nations of the world are bitter and angry.

Our world also includes an Old World full of the status quo, with people looking for security and safety. They have become very traditional and nationalistic. Often they have outdated, time warped solutions to new and modern problems.

Our world includes a Disney World of fantasy and childish unrealistic expectations. Children and adults are allowed to live out of control with no absolutes and no moral compass.

There are some in our world who are Out of this World. Computers and technology is pulling us into the new millennium faster than most want to go. The future is here now.

You may think that you have special insulation from worldliness. You have it all figured out. You think you can escape worldliness. You have got God figured out and have put God in a box. Do you go to God when times start getting tough? Let Christ in your religion and allow the Holy Spirit of God to move in your heart and take hold of every area of your life.

Ask yourself:

1. Is the world in you? How is it obvious?

2. How do you hide it from others?

3. What are you going to do about it?

Daily Prayer Focus: God, search me and know me, try me and see if there be any wicked way in me. Continue to set me apart from the world as I am sent out to the world!

On The Go Prayer Focus: Continue to pray for NYCityfest in New York City and Lifest in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Pray for favor, opportunity, decisions and God's will to be done.  Pray that the team will finish well.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Why Serve God?

Why Serve God? by Keith Cook

News Event: On The Go Ministries is Partnering this week with the Luis Palau Association in New York with NYCityfest. On Friday, Luis Palau and Ministry Partners will be ministering at New York's Time Square and Saturday at Central Park. God is doing a Great and Mighty Work in America.  We are also partnering with LifeFest in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on Saturday. Praise God for the opportunities to share the Good News of Jesus Christ through Service Opportunities, Power Teams, Music, One on One Evangelism, the Gospel Message, and more!

"Do you not say there are yet four months and then comes harvest? Behold I say to you, Lift Up Your Eyes, and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest." John 4:35

There are several reasons people serve God.

1. For Fame - They want to make a name for themselves. They want to help the poor "heathen people."

2. For Fun - They think that mission trips, ministry, and service to others take them to exciting places. They want to have fun and meet other people.

3. For Adventure or Fantasy - They want to have a great experience with the culture or blaze a trail that no one has ever been on.

4. For Family - Their parents or spouse want them to minister and they agree to do ministry to save face or go along with the family on a project.

5. For Escape - They have nothing better to do and it will get them away from school or job for a while.

6. For Peers - Everyone else is going and they do not want to be left out.

7. For God - They are called by God and want to make a difference for Christ. They have lifted their eyes and looked on the fields that are ready for harvest.

Which one of the above represents you?

We serve God because...

He died for us.
He asked us to go for Him.
He loves the lost and so do we.
He will be with us as we go.
He will use us if we are "on the go" for Him!

Why serve God? Because He served us!

After taking thousands of people all over the world and all over the United States to do ministry I have experienced all of the above reasons why people want to go for God. When I find someone who really wants to go for God and they give all they have for Him I usually have made a co-worker for life.

Is God calling you to Go for Him?

Are you willing to listen and do what He says?

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God will purify every wrong motivation that you may have for serving Him.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Pray for Divine Appointments at NYCityfest and LifeFest as the Gospel of Jesus Christ is clearly presented. Praise God for each ministry partner, volunteer and counselor who are ministering at the events. Praise God for the opportunity to share Christ in America.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

A Rain Drop and A Cloud

A Rain Drop and A Cloud by Laurie McTier

"By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night." Exodus 13:21

God promises to equip you and prepare you for the work that He has called you to do. He will not send you out into the field and desert you. He will enable you to fulfill the calling He has given to you.

While on a GoTeam Outreach in Mexico, Keith sent word that the prayer focus for Thursday was that God would give us a raindrop and a cloud.

Praise God for prayer warriors! God's cloud and covering was obvious as we ministered in a local school and community. He had reserved a cloud specifically for our team. Everywhere we went, His covering followed the team. We even had an afternoon rain "shower" which lasted about 30 minutes, and cooled things off for the rest of the day. Until that moment, the only shower I had ever actually seen in Mexico was a few raindrops lasting five minutes at the most.

As you set out to serve God today, rest assured that His Spirit lives within you. God goes before us, behind us, and alongside each of His children. Pray specifically for the needs of those to whom you will be ministering to today. Seek His face. May God reveal Himself to you in a much more intimate way. He wants you to draw near to Him, for His word promises, as we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us.

Daily Prayer Focus: Lord, thank you for answered prayer. Thank you for being the same yesterday, today and forever.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The "On The Go Daily" 2 Minute Radio & Podcast Program. This is a daily program airing across the United States, and World via the internet and radio stations. "On The Go Daily" is used to encourage, challenge, and motivate Christians in their daily walk. Pray for Keith, Joan, the On The Go Staff, and special guests as they share on these 2 minute broadcasts. You can hear these programs via our website if it is not available in your area.

"When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things." 1 Corinthians 13:11

MATURE - A Real Man is Mature In All Respects

A real man has put aside childish things and has spiritually grown up. That is not to say that he does not have fun or suddenly becomes somber and serious, but it does mean that every area of a Godly man's life is maturing and growing under the direction of the Holy Spirit.

ADVANCING - A Real Man is Advancing The Kingdom Of God

A true man takes care of his family and career but he also makes sure the Kingdom of God is advancing. He helps his local church by giving of his time, talents, money, and prayers. He ministers in his community. He assists other ministries as they go around the world for Jesus. He truly sees his place in ministry and does not run from his responsibilities to be a man of God. He does not loose focus of being a part of God's overall plan for winning the lost.

NEW NATURE - A Real Man is Controlled by a NEW Nature.

His character and conscience is clean. The man he is in public is the man he is in private.

His children see him as real and not fake. His wife knows he is not a hypocrite and that he is trustworthy.

Everyday the real man of God is getting in the Word of God and searching the scriptures and asking God to show him any wicked way that may be in his life.

Being controlled by the Holy Spirit takes daily dying to self and a minute-by-minute dependence on God's provision and right to direct one's life.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God will continue to raise up Real Men who are serious in their walk with Him and seeking to Mature, Advance, and be Controlled by a New Nature.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's "Adopt An Evangelist" program. This program provides funding and support for various missions and evangelists around the world.

Man Of God

Man Of God by Keith Cook based on 3 John

News Event:  On The Go Middle Tennessee Outreach set for July 7-8 and July 14-15, 2015. Work teams will be working at our World Outreach Center in Joelton, TN and assisting with remodeling our building!

Rise up men of God. God is looking for you to be a champion for Him in our day and time. In order to be a "Man of God" you must look into His Word and heed His advice. Listed below are seven things God wants you to know about being a "Man of God."

1. You are Loved by God and by those who are spiritual (3 John 1)

God really loves you and wants you to know that you are appreciated by all those who are in the truth. Godly men appreciate other men who are striving to be Godly. The "Godly Man's Club" is always looking for new members.

God has always looked for men to lead His church and lead out in society. When a man feels the love of God and knows he has a purpose in life he will follow God's call to the ends of the earth.

2. You must be Prayed Up (3 John 2)

Pray if you want to be a man of God. Do not neglect your devotional times with God. Pray to God about every area of your life. When you can not pray you are often in need of prayer the most. Repent and go to God immediately. Do not let sin, pride, time, or habits, rob you of your spiritual power.

3. You must be Spoken Well Of (3 John 3)

Walking In Faith produces results and people actually take notice. They know you have been with Jesus. Walk in a way worthy of your call. You are a Christian. This means you are "Christ Like."

4. A man of God Works To Help Others (3 John 5)

You help them Accomplish much. You also join in the Accomplishment. There is a greater Joy that comes into your life when you act faithful in regards to others. Send Out Ministers In A Way Worthy of God. You ought to support those who go out for the sake of the Name.

5. A man of God is Rewarded For Helping Others (3 John 8)

There is joy and a promise of God's favor for those who help others. God will help you as you help others.

6. Don't Work against God's Plan or Man (3 John 9)

Fight hard against that manly nature that wants his way and his opinion to rule the day. Learn how to work with others and not have to have your plan and opinion set the agenda of your church or ministry. Relax and let God direct. If someone in spiritual authority is living in sin go to them and rebuke them in private. Then if they repent you have a brother for life. Do not fight in public or sow discord in private.

7. Imitate Good Not Evil - (3 John 11)

Make sure you have godly mentors in your life. Sports personalities and corporate leaders are not always the best models to learn from. Look to God to help you learn how to be a man. A real man of God is constantly growing and working on his spiritual life. Avoid evil and do good.

Daily Prayer Focus: Create in me a Clean Heart O God. Fashion me into your Image.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Work Teams at On The Go this week!  Pray for teens and young adults who will be helping our staff this week with remodeling our World Outreach Center. Pray for safety as they work and that they will be challenged this week as they minister.

Holiness

Holiness by Carey Smith

"Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the LORD your God. Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the LORD, who makes you holy." Leviticus 20:7-8

How would you define "Holy"? Here is how Webster's defines it: "Exalted or worthy of complete devotion as one perfect in goodness and righteousness." That sounds like a pretty good way to describe the holiness of God. Who is worthy of complete devotion? Who is perfect in goodness and righteousness? According to the word of God, only He is.

In contrast, these verses give us a hint about our righteousness before God. "This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed." John 3:19-20

Simply put, we would choose darkness because we hate the light. We cannot even stand in His presence because of our guilt and our sin. It amazes me that God will make us holy in His sight. There is no other way for us to be holy other than by His hand. There is nothing we can do; there is nothing we can say. Even consecrating ourselves requires God to declare us holy. Because of His righteous and pure nature, there is no one other than He who has the ability to sanctify, consecrate, and purify us to make us holy.

Even though there is nothing we can do to become holy, God does ask us to keep His decrees and follow His commands. Why, because He is the Lord God. Does He need a reason beyond that? Does He need a reason at all?

Daily Prayer Focus: Lord, Mold me and make me into your image. Lord, purify my heart, and may others see the hand of God at work in my life.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The GoAudio Podcasts and Radio Ministries. Currently we are producing various programs which go over the internet and international airwaves. The Power In Jesus Name

The Power In Jesus Name by Keith Cook

"Whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of Jesus." Colossians 3:17

In our culture parents give their children names for many different reasons.

Some name their children after relatives, to honor the memory and legacy of that particular family member.

Some name their children after hero's and celebrities. I have a friend who named their son Walker after "Walker Texas Ranger."

Many give their children names based on fads and cultural trends.

Some of the most popular names for boys and girls born last year were:

Baby Girl Names:  Emily, Emma, Madison, Abigail, Olivia, Isabella, Hannah, Samantha, Ava, Ashley

Baby Boy Names: Jacob, Michael, Joshua, Matthew, Ethan, Andrew, Daniel, Anthony, Christopher, Joseph

Some name their children after biblical personalities or because of the actual meaning behind the name.

The name Gene means Well born, Bobby - Bright Fame, Don - Ruler, Harry - Home Ruler, Ray - Counselor & Protector, Alan - Handsome", Keith - Mighty Warrior, Joan - God's Gift.

Names in Old Testament and New Testament reflected the hopes and dreams of entire families as well as the destiny and divine nature of God's redemptive plan as it unfolded down through the ages.

David's name meant Beloved, Moses - Drawn out one, Abraham - Father of a multitude, Jacob - Trickster, Israel - He will rule, Peter - Rock.

Jesus name means Jehovah (Yahweh) is Savior. Jehovah is the redemptive name of God in the Old Testament and it means the "self-Existing One or the Eternal One."  Yahweh literally means "He is."  I am that I am! Jesus name manifests His Character (Purity), Presence (Eternal), Power (Unlimited) and Authority (Divine)!

Jesus came to earth to save all mankind. He came to rescue all from danger. He also came to keep his flock safe and sound for now and through eternity. The real power in Jesus name is Jesus himself. There is nothing magical about the letters that form the name. Frantically yelling out Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, will not help anyone. But, calling on the name of the Lord represented by the name Jesus will. When you call out to the Saviour of mankind He hears. When you call on Him to direct your life He will. Call on the real Jesus. Do not take the name of the Lord you God in Vain!

Daily Prayer Focus: Praise God that when you call on Jesus name, all things are possible.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Joan Cook's "Women On The Go" Ministries. Joan's "Women On The Go" programs are implemented at women's conferences, local churches, retreats, and separate stand-alone events. God has given her a burden to minister to and encourage women in their walk with the Lord. Pray for Joan as she ministers and shares from her heart and as she presents motivational, evangelistic programs, materials, and leadership to and for women that will challenge and motivate them to a deeper walk with the Lord.

Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day! by Joan and Keith Cook

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."  1 Timothy 2:1, 2

July 4th is a wonderful holiday here in the United States! Independence and freedom are something we, as Americans, often times take for granted. It is hard for us to imagine living in a country where we are not free to express our own views, worship as we please, go to the store and find anything we could possible want, sleep in a home that is heated and cooled at our whim, get in your car and drive where we please, or any other number of things we so easily take for granted.

As Americans, we have a responsibility to pray for the leaders of our country:

Pray for President Obama
Pray for Vice-president Biden
Pray for your Senators and Congressmen
Pray for all those who are in a leadership position in our nation
Pray for all the countries of the world and their leaders

If you travel around the world, as we do at On The Go, it does not take you long before you realize there is truly "no place like home". We have had the privilege to visit over 40 countries in our travels. While those countries and the people were so beautiful, hospitable, and proud of their own homeland, the United States is the place that Joan and I hold dear.

Lord Jesus, continue to stretch out your hand of blessing, love, and protection on this great Nation. Help this country never forget that it is only through You that our blessings come! I pray that we will continue to take those blessings and share them with others around the world. May we never forget that Jesus is the greatest blessing of them all!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for our troops as they are continuing to fight for our freedom. Pray against terrorism and that God would stop any evil plans that evil men have to hurt individuals world-wide.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's GoCare ministry. This is our acts of kindness and benevolence ministry department. The focus of our GoCare ministry is to reach out to physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of hurting individuals and to build bridges between churches and their communities.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Confidence

Confidence by Laurie McTier

"For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou are my trust from my youth." Psalms 71:5

When I think of a confident individual, I think of one who is assured, willing to stand up, determined to defend and possess a great conviction.

God has called each of us as believers to let our light shine before men that they will see His Spirit at work in our lives. He has called us to fulfill the Great Commission.

When I look at today's scripture, I am reminded that God is our Hope and our Confidence. Our calling and ministry today comes from the Lord. Whatever your hands find to do, do it and serve Him wholeheartedly.

As you serve today, go out in confidence. God has gone out before you. He will guide you and give you the words to share. He has called you and equipped you for all that you will do today.

Go forward in Confidence!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for our country on the eve of the Fourth of July Holiday. Pray for our law enforcement agencies. Stand against terrorism. Pray for peace!

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go Ministry Supporters. It takes teamwork to make the dream work! Our ministry supporters have made commitments to play a vital part of our team through praying, sharing, caring, going, and growing.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Finish Well!

Finish Well! by Keith Cook

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord... will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7, 8

Not to long ago I met with one of Billy Graham's associates and I asked him what his goal was for the next few years of ministry. He said his number one goal was to help Dr. Graham finish well.

He then went on to say that most great leaders and ministers often lose focus and get off track at the end of a project or even at the end of their life. God wants all of us to finish well.

David, in the Bible, lost his focus once and stayed back from his job, allowing someone else to go off and fight for him. The Bible says that when it was time for kings to go out for war David was home looking and lusting at another man's wife. He should have been out finishing his work that God had given him, not home making excuses why he was not needed and letting his wandering eyes and lustful passions control his life.

Commit today to finish all you are doing for God well. Don't slack up or let others do your job. Make a mark and keep on making a difference.

Press on to the prize, finish well!

1. Have you lost your focus at any time while serving God?

2. What else could God be calling you to do to help others?

3. Who have you let do your job or made suffer because of your lack of focus?

4. Ask for forgiveness and thank those you regularly minister with for bearing with you and helping you be all God wants you to be!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray today for your God given and God called ministry. Resubmit your life to God's direction!

On The Go Prayer Focus: The GoTeam Short Term Missions Projects and GoTeam Members. GoTeams are made up of young people and adults who voluntarily go on an On The Go mission project around the world and are making a strategic impact for Christ.

Harvest Time is NOW!

Harvest Time is NOW! - By Keith Cook

"He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son." Proverbs 10:5

Being at the right place at the right time is so exciting. If you take ministry opportunities for God this week, then these days will be very explosive days and nights. I believe that this is God's time for revival.

If you have sought God about what you are to do for Him this week then right now YOU are right where God wants you to be. You are boldly ready to proclaim the right message.

It is harvest time, and you are not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ. You are more than able through Christ to work in the fields. The fruit is ripe and ready to be picked for God's kingdom.

Each day each Christian has different responsibilities given to them by God. You have God given responsibilities and divine opportunities. Sometimes you will have fun working for God and sometimes you will work yourself to death.

Keep up a good spirit as you look for open doors to share for Christ.

Try not to let people see you getting frustrated, tired, or upset in serving the Lord.

Do not complain or give the Devil any opportunity to harm the work of Christ.

While we have time, we need to be laboring for Jesus Christ.

If we labor for Him our labor will not be in vain.

Personal Prayer Focus: "Onward Christian Soldiers" is your battle cry. Pray that you will Run to the Battle and that the Harvest will be Plentiful.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Keith Cook Crusades, Celebrations, and Festivals. God has given Keith the opportunity and privilege of sharing the message of Christ both stateside and internationally. During each opportunity, Keith presents a joyful and enthusiastic, yet powerful and clear presentation of the Gospel and a call to commitment to Christ.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.
