The Love of God

The Love of God by Laurie McTier

"In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." 1 John 4:9,10

The love of God is greater than any man can ever tell. The greatest picture of His love is His sacrificial gift, His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ. God knew that the only way to eternal salvation was the death of His Son, so He willingly gave that we could come to know Him.

As Christians, we can come to God our Father at any time. He wants to know His children on an intimate level. No matter your struggle, He wants you to know that He loves you and cares for you. He will walk beside you every step of the way. He is strong enough, lean on Him and place your trust in Him. With His power,  His strength, and His compassion, you truly can impact lives and change the world.

Christ died so that we might live! Let His glory shine through you. As you allow His love to flow through you, others will be drawn to Him.

Daily Prayer Focus: Let your light shine through me so that others can be drawn to Christ.

On The Go Prayer Focus: All the local churches, committees, and leaders who will be working with On The Go Ministries and the Keith Cook Team in creative outreach efforts in the United States and around the world.

Heart Attack

Heart Attack by Keith Cook

"Harden not your hearts."  Hebrews 3:8

The Devil is trying to make you have a "Heart Attack." He wants to destroy your spiritual heart. There are many different kinds of hearts mentioned in the Bible, and each of them can help us get a clear picture of what God wants us to avoid in life and what He has for each of us in this life and in eternity.

There are Hard Hearts - These are hearts that have been hardened to the Spirit of God. Life seems hopeless and there appears to be no way out of evil and dreadful situations. No peace. No joy. No indication of guilt. Irresponsibility. (Hebrews 3:8)

There are Dirty Hearts - These are represented by lives that are full of sin and in need of cleansing and forgiveness and hope. The Devil attacks hearts of men and women and traps individuals into going farther into sin than they intended to go and has them staying in bondage to sin longer than they ever dreamed possible.

There are Dead Hearts - These lifeless hearts have been crushed by a load of sin and literally are dead to life in Christ.  They are dead to a work of God in their lives. Spiritual things make no sense to them. Life is lived in the flesh. They give no room or thought to spiritual and/or eternal values.

There are Searching Hearts - These Holy Spirit quickened hearts are open to a life in the spirit and are ready for new life. These are hearts that are longing for something better. They represent hearts that are looking for love and acceptance.

There are Clean Hearts - Clean hearts are basically lives that have been transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit and set free from the penalty of sin. These hearts represent lives which are forever secure in their relationship with Christ.

There are New Hearts - This is the kind of heart that God wants you to have today. Hearts that represent lives that are walking in the newness of life in the Spirit. Jesus has made these hearts new. Scars are gone. Sin is gone. The Devil's heart attack is not evident because the old heart has been replaced. Your life can be one of newness of life. You are a new creation. There is hope, happiness, and purpose.

Let your heart beat with life in Christ.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God will guard your heart.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Keith Cook, Joan Cook, the U.S.A. Staff, and On The Go Board of Directors, as they add leadership and direction for the ongoing ministries of the Keith Cook Team and On The Go.

Hid In Christ

Hid In Christ by Keith Cook

"Your life is hid with Christ in God" Colossians 3:3

Several years ago I was conducting crusades in a far away place. The area of the world that I was serving in was very unstable. Each night I would come back to my lodging with fear and trembling. Danger was all around.

During the day I would hear the people downstairs talking about my being at their hotel. I knew that I was in a very vulnerable situation. Each day there would be violent demonstrations outside my window by people who thought I was a "devil" for bringing Christianity to their area.

One night as I stood alone, great fear came over me. I cried out to God. "Why am I so afraid? Why can I not get victory over this fear?"  That moment Jesus spoke to my heart. He said, "I know where you are. I know why you are here. I am with you."

Once I heard Him speak to my heart, I was fine and I could rest. That night I literally felt the Holy Spirit rocking me to sleep. In Christ I had won victory. I knew I was "hid in Him".

If you are "Hid in Christ" you can count on the following:

1. Your hope is connected to the fact that Jesus is the Christ. Jesus really is the Son of God. He really is the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies and He is the Messiah. From the Garden of Eden, God has provided a future hope and now a present atonement in His Son Jesus.

2. Your past is forgiven by the awesome sacrifice Christ made for you on the cross. When Jesus died on the cross He died not just for the sins of the world, but also for you personally. He took upon Himself all your sins and He also took the penalty for those sins. When you are "Hid In Christ" your past sins are forgiven.

3. Your future is secured by the victory Christ won over death, hell, and the grave. When Jesus, the Christ, arose from the dead He proved He was the Messiah. He proved He was sent from God the Father. He proved He had all power. The natural and supernatural realm was subject to Him. When you rely and trust in Him your future is as secure as His future.

4. Your present situation and position is maintained by the power of the sent One. When Jesus was leaving this earth for heaven, He assured all His followers that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit was to come upon them. Once you come to Christ He sends you a marvelous gift, the Holy Spirit. Do not fear God's Spirit living in you. He is to be your guide, power, and comfort.  He even helps you when you do not know what you need or want. Be filled with the Holy Spirit and let Him direct your daily walk.

5. Your security is built on His Faithfulness, not your Faith. Trust Jesus not your education!  Rely not on your wealth. Do not depend on your work, nor your quest for fame, as your security. It is not your faith that keeps you in the faith, it is His faithfulness. It is not your faith that gets you God's attention, it is His faithfulness to you that gets you into the presence of God. Trusting in God and living by faith really means you are not looking to your ability but depending on His.

Today is the right day to find yourself hidden in Christ. It is the safest place to be this side of eternity.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God will grant you peace, contentment, faith, and blessings as you seek to rest and be hidden in Him.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The Safety In Travel for each On The Go staffer and GoTeam volunteer.

Get Out In Space

Get Out In Space by Keith Cook

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:32

The next time you read the Bible I think God wants you to get out of this world and get out in space. Let me explain.

When I was just getting started in my Christian life, my pastor wanted to help me study the Bible and actually get something out of my time with Jesus in the Word. He shared with me a little acrostic using the word SPACE. It stands for: SIN, PROMISE, ATTITUDE, COMMAND, EXAMPLE.

If you use this simple outline when you read the Bible it will really help you stay on focus and apply what you are reading to your everyday life. As you read, ask yourself the following questions:

As I have read the Word have I discovered a Sin in my life that I need to confess?

As I have read the Word have I discovered a Promise that I need to claim?

As I have read the Word have I discovered an Attitude that I need to change?

As I have read the Word have I discovered a Command I need to obey?

As I have read the Word have I discovered an Example I need to follow?

Getting into the Word of God should be a cosmic experience!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that you can get out of this world and enter His realm today.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The Interns who faithfully come to On The Go each year to work for Christ and learn how to do ministry that matters for the kingdom of God.

Contentment

Contentment by Joan Cook

"But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment." 1 Timothy 6:6

During the first few years of Keith and my marriage, we would travel from church to church holding revival meetings. Keith would preach from Sunday morning to Saturday Night, and then we would drive to the next place and start all over again. We were in many rural churches in the United States, especially the South. We would stay with the pastor or a member of the congregation for the week, so we had the privilege of meeting many new people.

While it was very rewarding, as we would see many at each revival meeting come to know the Lord or rededicate their life to Him, it was hard at times. Keith Jr. was a toddler at the time and of course would travel with us. Having a toddler at home is hard enough, but trying to raise one in the public eye while in someone else's home was next to impossible. Thank the Lord, He blessed us with a child who had a wonderful temperament and rarely disobeyed.

I'll have to say there were times, back then, when I would had rather been at home than out on the road. Even today, while our ministry reaches into the whole world and we are traveling to many foreign lands, sometimes I would rather just stay at home.

In our early days of ministry, God was trying to teach me to be content wherever I was! Contentment is not something you are born with. You have to learn to be content. In Philippians 4:11, Paul says, "Not that I speak from want; for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am." Amazingly enough, Paul even had to learn to be content!

Are you content today? Are you satisfied with the blessings that God has given you?

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that you will learn to be content wherever, whenever, and however God leads you!

On The Go Prayer Focus: All the Ministry Partners, Missions, Missionaries that On The Go ministers with. It takes team work to make the dream of reaching the world a reality.

The Task

The Task by Keith Cook

"I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness--the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints...To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me." Colossians 1:25-29

The Task Has Been Mandated - Jesus called us to go into the whole world and share His message to all people. In order for us to do that we must:

1. Narrow The Task - What I mean by this is that we must look at each directive and command given by God and actually plan to do them. We need to begin to Organize and Strategize. We receive the vision from God, cast the vision to others and dream big dreams to begin to do the tasks.

2. Finish Task - Just the other day I heard of a ministry that started a bold and needed ministry only to drop it after the going got tough. Churches and Christians often jump out into ministry and service without reflection about what it will actually cost in time, commitment, and funding. When the way gets rough the tough get going while the weak start slowing. Our Lord wants us to finish the tasks He has given us. We are a vital part in what He is doing. We must do our part and we must complete the job at hand.

3. Empowered for the Task - The Kingdom of God is a supernatural Kingdom and will not be defended or strengthened by mere human means and resources. Human effort alone can not build the Kingdom of God. The Gospel will triumph over evil as spirit filled believers boldly advance Christ's cause. While social, political, and material blessing are important to our promoting the task and finishing the task, they do not equate with the God's Holy Spirit moving on us to do and complete our mission for the kingdom of God.

Our task is for this given day and our Master has the resources for the task at hand. Let us all put our hands to the plow and begin to work in God's field.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God will enable you in your Christian walk to narrow the task, finish the task, and be empowered for the task He has for you as you seek to faithfully serve Him.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The Finances of Team as they boldly go out for Jesus Christ. Pray that all their needs will be met at home and for the projects they are working on.

Dr. Seuss and the Gospel - Part 2

Dr. Seuss and the Gospel - Part 2 by Keith Cook

"Don't collect for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But collect for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don't break in and steal."  Matthew 6:19-20

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."  Dr. Seuss

Do you care a whole awful lot? If not, why not?

Why not take the time to get to the place where you do care a whole awful lot! How can you get to that place where you care and actually make a difference that matters for eternity? What must you do? What is your part?  You must:

First - Make it happen - Start where you are, start small, but do something.

Anne Frank once wrote, "How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world."

Mother Teresa has said, "If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one."

Second - Make it a habit - You must discipline your body, mind, soul, and heart to do the good works God has called you to do. "Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve."  so said Martin Luther King, Jr. He was right, you can do great things for God by simply serving others. Jesus Christ was and is our perfect example of the servant leader. He led from the front. He calls all of us to work at trying to out give each other. Serving others is not a hit or miss proposition, it is a daily goal not a casual stroll through life. It takes work, practice, study, effort, planning, and Godly discipline to be a modern day disciple of Christ.

Third - Make it a priority - If you are willing to commit to doing a work for God, or doing what you have in front of you that you know you must do, then you are well on your way to showing and living like you care a whole awful lot.  Don't just talk about what you are going to do or what you wish could happen,  commit to doing "your something" now! Oscar Wilde said, "The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention."

Finally - Make it special and fun - Slow down and put your heart into it. Be creative and innovative in all you do for God. Never be second rate or sloppy. Being disorganized and not having the proper tools and resources does not honor God. Be willing to team up and network with others to do the tasks at hand in a more timely and effective manner. Make sure you make an effort to join in to do the work of the Lord and don't just show up. Arrive alive.  Mark Twain once said, "Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see."

Daily Prayer Focus:  Lord, help me today to slow down and put my heart into everything You would have me to do.  May Your love radiate through me and may it be evident to others that I care a whole awful lot!

On The Go Prayer Focus: The Families of the On The Go staff. Pray for their emotions, finances, safety, wisdom, and spiritual health.

Dr. Seuss and the Gospel

Dr. Seuss and the Gospel by Keith Cook

"Faith without works is dead." James 2:17

My granddaughter, Stella, is full of life and into everything. We are constantly having to run to keep up with her. She loves bringing books to Grammy & Papa for us to read with her.  Today while reading a story I ran across this quote:  "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."  Dr. Seuss

The Dr. was right. You may not think that you can get a lot done with just a few prayers, a couple of dollars, or only a day or two a month to help or volunteer but you really can. What can you do right now?

You can pray - Your prayers keep the Gospel going out. Your prayers help keep evangelists on the go for Jesus. Because you pray the Spirit of God is moving to save, heal, bless, protect, and provide for unseen and unknown thousands. Keep it up. Keep the prayers going up. Care enough to pray a whole awful lot.

You can give - Your strategic and timely gifts to churches and ministries allow you to join with them in taking the Gospel farther than you ever imagine. Your financial giving to ministries that matter and your spirit led participation with those ministries and churches makes eternal impact. Winston Churchill once said, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."  Give enough to show you care an awful lot.

You can help - Your personal participation in ministry to others shows you care a whole awful lot. In working with our On The Go GoTeam short term mission and outreach volunteers and our GoCare Volunteers down through the years I have learned that these anointed and faithful servant of Christ don't necessarily have the time; they just take the time because they have the mind and compassion of Christ!

Daily Prayer Focus:  Lord, show me how I can be On The Go for Jesus!

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's World Outreach Center (WOC). This is our main office and training facility. Pray for God to protect the building, guard the mechanical and structural aspects of the facility, and use the facility for maximum eternal benefits.

Passion For The Lost

Passion For The Lost by Josh Neese

"What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost." Matthew 18:12,13

The Bible points out how important it is to have a passion for the lost.  These verses point out that the man is happier about the one sheep than the ninety-nine that did not wander off. If the Father in heaven is so passionate about saving the lost, don't you think we should also have that same passion?  To be a Christian is to be Christ-like and as we follow Christ's example.  So, who did Christ actually eat, walk, and associate with? The Lost!

The Bible asks us, "How can people hear without a preacher?" Romans 10:14  On The Go Ministries has a passion for the lost. Our teams  literally go to where the people are; whether it be across the street or around the world.

God has not only called On The Go Ministries to go and share the Gospel, but He has also called you! You see, you are called to leave the ninety-nine and find the one.

Currently, On The Go is strategically planning Festivals, GoTeam Projects, GoCare Events, and Neighborhood Outreach GoTeams for 2016 and beyond. If you would like more information on how you can be a part, please contact our office at the emails listed below.

Daily Prayer Focus: Think about someone in your life that is lost. Begin to pray for this person and ask God how He might use you to bring them into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The follow-up of inquirers who come publicly and make decisions for Christ, write in for materials to grow in Christ, or who visit our website looking for help in following Christ. Pray for local believers, churches, parents, and friends who all will be used of God to nurture each and every one to maturity in Christ.

I Command My Body

I Command My Body by Keith Cook

"But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway" 1 Corinthians 9:27

One of my favorite countries is Jamaica. It is exciting to join in worship with Jamaican believers and see the hand God move in their midst. In Jamaica the youth sing a song about our bodies. The song goes like this:

I command my body to praise the Lord.
I command my body to praise the Lord.
Body, praise the Lord.
Body, praise the Lord.

I command my feet to praise the Lord.
I command my feet to praise the Lord.
Feet, praise the Lord.
Feet, praise the Lord.

I command my head to praise the Lord.
I command my head to praise the Lord.
Head, praise the Lord.
Head, praise the Lord.

I command my hands to praise the Lord.
I command my hands to praise the Lord.
Hands, praise the Lord.
Hands, praise the Lord.

The song continues on as long as the youth have the imagination to create different areas of the body to praise God. The motions are quite funny. When they say head praise the Lord they move their head around. When they say feet praise the Lord they dance around and on and on it goes.

In the same way every part of your life needs to praise Him.

Command your EARS: You can do this by always listening to the Spirit of God in your life as He tries to direct you in service and obedience to Him.

Command your MOUTH: Let your mouth be continually filled with praise to God. You can also use your mouth to share with others about the love of Jesus.

Command your BODY: In subjection to the will of God... pure, disciplined, in control.

Command your HANDS:  One hand representing reaching out to help others and one hand reaching up to God for help.

Command your HEART: To be full of love and compassion for others as well as on fire for God.

Command your EYES: To be open to the Spirit's leading and open to the needs of others.

Command your MIND: Have the mind of Christ and meditate on the Word of God.

Command your FEET:  Your feet should be dancing for Jesus, running for Jesus, walking For Jesus, and standing For Jesus.

Command your KNEES:  Your knees should be continually used for times of prayer to reach into Heaven for fellowship and inspiration from the Father.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that you will honor and glorify God with your body.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Those who need to make decisions for Christ as On The Go and the Keith Cook Team shares the Gospel around the world. Pray that they will hear a clear message about Christ, that the Holy Spirit will move them to a point of decision and that they will be bold enough to publicly respond for Christ.

Knocking on Doors

Knocking on Doors by Keith Cook

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:" 1 Peter 3:15

Q.  What do you get when you cross a Mormon with an Atheist?
A.  Someone that goes around knocking on doors for no apparent reason.

We are constantly sending people door to door to work for God. We do not want them to just knock on a door and then not have a reason for the visit, or not have anything to say that really matters in the real world.

At our training GoCamps we play a game called the "Door-To-Door" game. We send people up to a prop door, and as they knock on the door, then an actor who is behind the door, will play the part of different people that they may encounter in real life. They encounter atheists, Mormons, battered wives, single parent dads, elderly, widows, new agers, children, alcoholics, businessmen and women, wealthy, and many more.

It is a fun and a challenging game. They are given advice on how to share more sincerely and effectively. Then, we send them out to real homes in a local community. It never fails that they encounter at least one of the personalities for which they have been trained. They also have many other divine encounters that lead to life and security in Christ.

In sharing door-to-door or life-to-life we must have the right message and the right methods for the individuals God is directing us with. Knocking on doors with the wrong message or no message at all is not consistent with Christ's command to go into the whole world and share the Good News.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for divine encounters and a divine message so that you might share your faith in Christ.

On The Go Prayer Focus: All the local churches, committees, and leaders who will be working with On The Go Ministries and the Keith Cook Team in creative outreach efforts in the United States and around the world.

Revival Begins By Giving

Revival Begins By Giving by Keith Cook

"Wilt thou not revive us again:" Psalms 85:6

God gave the ultimate gift and all of mankind has received a great blessing. It is now time for Christians to be used of God to bring revival to this generation. Revival can only begin as Christians start sacrificially giving for revival. I am not talking about money or talents. While they are important, if the gifts God requires are given first, then talents and funding is never a problem.

What kind of giving does God require?

1. Giving in to God's will for our lives.

2. Giving up our rights in life and trusting in God's daily provision.

3. Giving back control of our lives to Jesus.

4. Giving out what we have been given to the world, our family, and to other Christians.

Revival will come if we simply begin giving. It may hurt. It may cost. It may demand, but it will be rewarding.

Daily Prayer Focus: Lord, Let Revival Come!

On The Go Prayer Focus: The 30 Minute Radio & Podcast Program "On The Go with Keith Cook". This is a weekly program airing over the internet, short wave, and radio stations. Life is Precious

Life is Precious by Laurie McTier

"Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." Jeremiah 1:5

As Christians, we believe that life begins even before conception and that God has a unique plan and purpose for every person that He has created.

In the United States, this week marks the anniversary of the U. S. Supreme Court ruling legalizing abortion. Since that time, over 42 million babies have been sacrificed at the altar of political correctness.

The life and development of a child begins at the point of conception. Here are a few milestones in the developmental stages of an infant.

-By the 25th day the heart begins to beat.
-At four weeks of age the child has limb buds that will become the arms and legs.
-At sixteen weeks, the child has the ability to kick, swallow, and sleep.
-At twenty four weeks, the child can respond to sound.
-At the 28th week, the child has lungs that can breathe air, and its eyes are open.

As I have counseled with many teens searching for answers and a "quick fix," many of them had no concept of the risk factors involved with an abortion. Many of them were honestly crying out for someone to truly love them and show them compassion.

God is a god of love and compassion. His mercy and grace are immeasurable. For the thousands of women and young ladies who have had an abortion, or have even considered having an abortion, we need to stand in the gap and share with them that God's grace covers every sin that they have ever committed. He loves them,  He has a plan for their lives, and He is a God of second chances.

As Christians, we must also take a proactive stand for life. We must stand up and share with the young mothers and fathers who have chosen not to abandon or abort their babies that God loves them and He loves their babies. We must show them that He has a plan for their lives and that He will reward them for choosing life.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for our young people that they will choose life and make wise decisions. Pray for our president and governmental officials that they will make key decisions to protect the right of the unborn.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The Families of the On The Go staff. Pray for their emotions, finances, safety, wisdom, and spiritual health.

Self-Esteem

Self-Esteem by Joan Cook

"I will give thanks to Thee for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Thy works, And my soul knows it very well." Psalm 139:14

What do you think of yourself? Do you love yourself? The Bible tells us that we should love others as we love ourselves. If you do not love yourself, you can not begin to love others.  Only when we have healthy self-esteem can we have healthy relationships.

You might be asking, "What is healthy self-esteem?" Self-esteem is liking yourself and accepting your lot in life, despite your circumstances. As a Christian, you are a child of God, and you are very special to Him. It is a dangerous thing to have low self-esteem. Why, you might ask! Let's take a look at the characteristics low self-esteem created in the following examples:

1. Going with the Flow Joe - Like the chameleon that changes colors according to it's surroundings, Joe is a person with low self-esteem and can easily become like this. He may act like the people he is around and feel pressured to do things that he would not normally do, all because he desires to be accepted.

2. Wishy-Washy Wanda - Wanda does not have the ability to make solid decisions because all her decisions are based on her self-worth. She is not confident in herself; therefore, she does not think she can make good decisions. She continually questions herself.

3. Rejected Regina - Regina has the dirty window syndrome. She looks at life from a dirty window; therefore, she taints everything that she sees and makes it look filthy. She thinks that no one likes her or wants to be around her. She feels that people do not treat her good enough and that she's not pretty or smart enough!  She soon acts on what she believes and it becomes true. Since she is always criticizing herself, other people tend to come down on her too. She will soon become a jealous person who is easily threatened by anyone, friends included.

4. Emotionally Crippled Cal - Some of the most self-centered people in the world are people who have low self-esteem. Cal is like this. He is always down on himself. He often wonders what everyone else thinks of him.  He is generally incapable of giving or receiving love. because he is always focused on himself,

5. Pushover Peggy - Peggy is a moral pushover. A guy tells her that he loves her, and because she does not have many boyfriends and she feels like "somebody" when she's with him, she falls for his little bag of tricks.  He asks her to do something that she knows is wrong, but she can't say no because after all, he did tell her he loved her. After all is said and done, Peggy is left all alone!

God created us to have a future and a hope! He created us to be like Him! Do not allow the devil to have you think you are not good enough, smart enough, strong enough, wealthy enough, clean enough, big enough, or spiritual enough! Let us give Him thanks, for we are fearfully and wonderfully made!

Daily Prayer Focus: Praise God that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Praise God that your identity comes from Him.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's USA Outreach Effort. God has placed a United States effort on the heart and mind of the On The Go Team. Prescription for Revival

Prescription for Revival by Keith Cook & R.A. Torrey

"Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation... Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps." Psalms 86:5-13

I have the following outline by R. A. Torrey written down in my Bible. It has really challenged me in my personal life in regards to revival and seeking God.

"I can give a prescription that will bring a revival to any church or community or any city on earth.

First, let a few Christians (they need not be many) get thoroughly right with God themselves. This is the prime essential. If this is not done, the rest that I am to say will come to nothing.

Second, let them bind themselves together in a prayer group to pray for a revival until God opens the heavens and comes down.

Third, let them put themselves at the disposal of God for Him to use as He sees fit in winning others to Christ.

That is all!"

Mr. Torrey was right. His prescription for revival will cure what ails the church today. Many are running around from camp meeting to camp meeting looking for revival. Churches are holding meeting after meeting calling them revivals but few are revived. What is the answer?

Take three doses of God's prescription for revival.

1. Get right with God. Confess all sins up to date and flee from evil.

2. Pray and get close to Jesus.

3. Seek opportunity to be used of God.

Our Lord deserves a vibrant, healthy, Spirit-filled, servant who is reporting for duty today.

Daily Prayer Focus: Praise God you can be healed from apathy, inactivity, carnality, uniformity, and passivity.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's Performing Arts Team. Pray for our team as we minister through drama, puppets, interpretive dance, and music. Our Performing Arts Teams are made up of volunteers and On The Go staffers who travel around the USA to local churches and events sharing the Good News.

The Life of a Mom

The Life of a Mom by Joan Cook

"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies." Proverbs 31:10

Recently, I came across the following tribute to Mothers. To all the Moms who could use a little break and a cup of coffee, Enjoy!

If you give a Mom a muffin,
She'll want a cup of coffee to go with it.
She'll pour herself some.
The coffee will get spilled by her three year old.
She'll wipe it up.

Wiping the floor, she will find some dirty socks.
She'll remember she has to do some laundry.
When she puts the laundry in the washer,
She'll trip over some snow boots and bump into the freezer.
Bumping into the freezer will remind her she has to plan dinner for tonight.

She will get out a pound of hamburger.
She will look for her cookbook (101 things to make with hamburger)
The cookbook is sitting under a pile of mail.
She will see the phone bill which is due tomorrow.
She will look for her checkbook.

The checkbook is in her purse that is being dumped out by her two year old.
She'll smell something funny.
She'll change the two year old.
While she is changing the two year old the phone will ring.
Her five year old will answer it and hang up.

She remembers that she wants to phone a friend to come for coffee on Friday.
Thinking of coffee will remind her that she was going to have a cup.
She will pour herself some...
And chances are...
If she has a cup of coffee...
Her kids will have eaten the muffin that went with it.

Daily Prayer Focus: Praise God for Mothers. Pray for parents today as they strive to train up their children to walk in the ways of the Lord.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Keith Cook's Hands-On-Training Events. This is our Outreach Training School on the road. Keith and the On The Go Team share all across the USA and Worldwide in fun and creative ways that people can serve Jesus and make an impact in this generation!

Don't Rob God

Don't Rob God by Laurie McTier

"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." Malachi 3:10 (KJV)

The beginning of each New Year gives us an opportunity to reflect on the past and make projections and goals that we would like to see achieved within the next 365 days. As I sat down and made my own New Year's resolutions, God brought something to my attention. How many times do I withhold my talents and gifts, tithes, and sometimes even my own schedule from God.

The time I had set aside to make goals now became a time of confession and renewal as I realized I had robbed God of things that belonged to him. As I had my quiet time this afternoon, I made a new commitment to be available to God, and not to rob Him by withholding things from Him.

This year, God wants to bless you. He wants to guide every step and every decision that you make. He wants to use you to make an impact for His Kingdom and His Glory. If we withhold things from Him, He can not pour out His blessings and power in our life as He desires to. If we hold back, we are limiting God.

You may be thinking, "I would never rob God." The truth is, each of us have been guilty and when we are, we probably don't even realize we are doing it.

"Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings." Malachi 3:18

God deserves our first fruit. As we give to God, He will in return bless us more abundantly. I think that each of us could stand to take Malachi 3:10 and accept it as a challenge for this new year. Bring God everything you have. Entrust Him with the things that are most precious to you, and as you yield them to God for His service, He will pour out a blessing, much more than we could ever imagine.

Daily Prayer Focus: Lord, help me today to entrust you with everything. I yield all that I have to you.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's Neighborhood Outreach Program. In reality, very little is being done to reach people in many communities across the USA. On The Go is striving to train local Christians and help them develop programs that can systematically and permanently reach real needs in their neighborhoods.

Live On The Highest Plain

Live On The Highest Plain by Keith Cook

"Let every valley be lifted up and every mountain and hill be made low and let the rough ground become a plain" Isaiah 40:4

Every Christian is called by Christ to submit to his leading each and every day and live to their fullest potential. This year God wants you to excel in every area of your life. Mentally keep the pressure on yourself to live up to all that God is calling you to do, stop, start, try, dream, and explore.

Many people take the easy way out and quickly fall behind all their New Year's resolutions. They give into their lowest expectations for their lives and live by a possible lifestyle and neglect Christ's impossible challenge's. The supernatural power of the Holy Spirit is neglected and replaced by probable thinking and reactionary living.

Decide today to live up to God's expectation of what you should be doing this year. It will provide a great view. A view from the "Highest Plain!"

Daily Prayer Focus; Pray that you will live up to God's expectations for this new year, 2016.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The GoAudio Podcasts and Radio Ministries. Currently we are producing various programs which go over the internet and international airwaves. Cruise Directors, Parents, and God

Cruise Directors, Parents, and God by Keith Cook

"And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest." Exodus 33:14

Recently several couples and our friends joined my wife and I on a spectacular cruise around the Caribbean Islands. It was such a joy to relax and rest with good Christian friends.

We did not have to worry about anything. Joan could lounge by the pool onboard soaking up sun rays and I could work out in the health spa trying to work off the many calories I was ingesting each day by being able to eat as often and as much as I wanted.

The cruise director had games planned for each hour. There were special theme meals and nights, parades on board, concerts by famous musician and comedians, as well as fun shore excursions.

I loved having everything paid for in advance and not having to think about anything. It sort of reminded me of my childhood. No worries, no stress, no pressure. Everything was taken care of by my parents. Parents and cruise directors have almost the same task. They both want you to be happy, have fun, be safe, and get the most out of each day.

Your personal relationship with Jesus Christ should almost be the same way. He too wants you to be happy, have fun, be safe, and get the most out of each day. Why not follow His direction today and everyday. He wants to lead you and protect you. He also wants to challenge and inspire you in your walk with Him.

Take a cruise on the Gospel Ship and let Jesus be your guide!

Daily Prayer Focus: Lord help me today to rest in You. Help me to take time to be still and know that You are God.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's GoKids Clubs. The focus of GoKids Clubs is to present a clear Gospel message to young children in our festivals, missions, and local neighborhoods. Pray for On The Go as we minister to boys and girls and share with them the love of Jesus Christ.

Jellyfish

Jellyfish by Keith Cook

"Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil."  1 Thessalonians 5:21, 22

One night while sitting in my room onboard a cruise ship, one of my friends called me and with an excited voice said, "Go quick to your balcony and look out at the ocean. There are jellyfish everywhere!"

So I quickly ran to the door, and rushed out onto the balcony and peered over into the vast ocean below. I was riding on the largest cruise ship in the world so I had to look close to actually see the creatures in the ocean. But sure enough there were thousands of them. Every ripple made by our ship stirred up hundreds in our wake. It was fascinating to see so many of them. They looked so beautiful and peaceful.

Just looking at these sea creatures from above the water poses no threat, but as I was standing there my body shivered at the thought of falling in and being caught in the middle of such dangerous creatures. I have been stung by jellyfish while swimming in the ocean and their sting can really hurt.

Many of the things of this world look harmless from a distance and their beauty often attracts many to dive in and participate. But once the leap has been made the sting of the habit or the consequences of the action hits hard.

Be ware of the dangers of life. Look carefully before leaping into unknown situations.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God will protect you from the dangers of the deep and the stings of sin.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's "Adopt An Evangelist" program. This program provides funding and support for various missions and evangelists around the world.

Stingray City

Stingray City by Keith Cook

"Beware of the Devil"  "He sneaks around...looking for those he can devour."  I Peter 5:8

Recently I was in the Grand Caymans scuba diving in just 12 feet of water. I am use to diving down to 100 feet and beyond, so the dive should have been safe and worry free.

The setting was beautiful. I knew the dive was going to be very exciting because I was with 39 of my friends and we were going to be surrounded by stingrays. Stingrays are wonderful sea creatures. While they have a fierce reputation, experienced divers can navigate quite safely underwater with them.

On the dive boat just before the dive the Dive Master gave us detailed instructions about diving with the stingrays. He said, "Be careful when feeding them." "Feed the rays but watch for smaller fish that may come in and try to steal the food."

When I finally could jump in the water I landed on top of a 10 foot Eel. I quickly said hello and put as much distance between it and myself as possible.

Once I was on the bottom of the ocean I was able to feed the stingrays. I was so excited. They were all around me. I was caught up in the moment. There was one stingray feeding out of my hand, one gliding under my feet and one at each side of me. It was scuba diving heaven.

Then out of nowhere a small Snapper Fish swam in and stole the food I had for the stingrays. It happened so fast. I was amazed. The fish actually bit my hand in order to get me to drop the bait and then snapped up the food.

In a spiritual sense this is just like the Devil, who hits us hard in one area of our lives in order to get us to drop our guard and then he sneaks into another area of our lives almost unnoticed. He then waits and looks for another opportunity to rob us of our joy or steal a blessing from us.

Daily Prayer Focus: Put on the Armor of God and pray that you will be aware of Satan's tricks. Pray that you will stand firmly in Christ.

Out of Control

Out of Control by Joan Cook

"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."  1 Peter 5:8

Have you ever felt like you were out of control?  It's not a good feeling to have.

When you are out of control, you are giving in to your feelings and choosing not to trust God.  We feel out of control when we are in a situation that doesn't go our way or the way we think it should. We may also feel out of control when we feel there is nothing we can do about a situation.

Having self-control does not mean that we are saying WE are in control - just the opposite - it's saying that God is in control of my life, therefore I will submit to the way He wants me to live and act. I will trust Him to handle things the way He sees fit.

Sometimes, we may be out of control in our emotions. It's hard not to live by our feelings.  But we can not let our feelings and emotions dictate our mood and our actions.  We should not let our emotions dictate our mood or how we act or respond to others.  How many times how you ever said, "I don't feel like it"  or "Leave me alone, I'm in a bad mood"?  We all have times when we don't feel like doing things, but it's when we make it a pattern that is becomes a problem.

When we do this, we're choosing to let our emotions rule.  We can never base our actions on how we feel - feelings come from our depravity, our sinful nature -We must die to self and walk in the spirit.

"But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control.  Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22

Sometimes we may be out of control in our speech. It's hard sometimes to use self-control when there is something we really want to say, even if it may be negative about someone else.

Our words are the main way we convey to others how we feel!  Our words and our body language scream what we like and don't like; what we think or what we know! We have to have self control in our speech!

The tongue "is a restless evil and full of deadly poison." James 3:8

Are you spewing poison?  We can either make others sick by spewing poison or we can help make others healthier by spewing blessings.  Are you spewing poison or blessings on your spouse?  Do you encourage or complain, uplift or put down, be joyful or mad and angry?

"Make the most of your chances to tell others the Good News, be wise in all your contacts with them.  Let your conversation be gracious, as well as sensible, for then you will have the right answer for everyone." Colossians 4:5,6

As you learn self-control, you will practice discipline in every area of your life, especially your time spent with God. Are you having a quiet time with God every day?  This is a time that you spend talking to God and listening to Him speak to you.  Nothing should get in the way of this precious time every day.  Many things will try to encroach upon this time, but as you practice discipline, you will make time for the communion with your Father. Make it happen as if your life depends on it!  Because it does!

Daily Prayer: Give God complete control of your life and submit to the way He wants you to live your life.

Good Morning God

Good Morning God by Keith Cook

"Early the next morning Abraham got up and returned to the place where he had stood before the LORD." Genesis 19:27

When I was just starting out in ministry I read several books by Norman Grubb. He wrote great mission biographies and books on the faith life. His retelling of the lives of great women and men of God inspired me and motivated me to trust God and daily live by faith.

Down through the years he and I talked on the phone and through letters about deep theological matters. He really was a transparent and very spiritual man. I miss him - but his legacy lives on in what he taught me about Christ. I want to pass on some of his insight and wisdom today.

Mr. Grubb had a practice of reciting a simple prayer every morning and he said it changed the way he lived his life. It also changed my life when I first heard it and started praying it myself.

Here is the prayer:

Good Morning God.

What are you up to today?

I want to be a part of it.

May I?

Thank you!

Now I am sure you know why his life and insights inspired me so. Today I think it would be wise and prudent for all of us to pray this simple prayer ourselves. Why not begin to include this simple prayer in your devotional times with God. Of course you can alter it or add to it, but this is a good place to start focusing in on talking with God about the great and small things in your daily life.

May God richly bless you as you find out what God is up to today and join him!

Daily Prayer Focus: Good Morning God. What are you up to today? I want to be a part of it. May I? Thank you!

On The Go Prayer Focus: Joan Cook's "Women On The Go" Ministries. Joan's "Women On The Go" programs are implemented at women's conferences, local churches, retreats, and separate stand-alone events. God has given her a burden to minister to and encourage women in their walk with the Lord. Pray for Joan as she ministers and shares from her heart and as she presents motivational, evangelistic programs, materials, and leadership to and for women that will challenge and motivate them to a deeper walk with the Lord.

What Is Going On

What Is Going On by Keith Cook

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

Living in this world is getting really complicated. Countries are arming for war. Tourists are being targeted by terrorists. The news everyday has some sad and depressing story about a parent or authority figure being caught doing something immoral and shameful.

Who can you trust? Who can you rely on? There is only one sure and definite reply, Jesus.

God commands each of us to be strong and have courage. No matter what you face in your life or what you have been through He can be there for you.

He commands us not to be terrified by our culture or society and not to let the things of this world discourage us from living right and doing what we know we should be doing.

Your God and Savior, Jesus Christ will be with you in all your situations. Do not panic. No matter what is going on around you Jesus is right in the middle of it to provide a way out, a way through, or comfort in the midst of the situation. Rejoice in Him today.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for those around you who may not have the peace you have to face all that is going on in their lives. Be there for them. Offer the hope you have in Christ.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's GoCare ministry. This is our acts of kindness and benevolence ministry department. The focus of our GoCare ministry is to reach out to physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of hurting individuals and to build bridges between churches and their communities.

Make an Investment

Make an Investment by Laurie McTier

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Luke 6:38

On January 3, 1994, my father, Bobby Wilkerson, went home to be with the Lord. As I recollect on my dad's life, I am reminded of the legacy that he has left in the hearts of all who knew him.

My father was a big man. He had broad shoulders and a coarse voice, just to see him would deter some of my friends from talking with him. But to those who knew him, deep down inside, my dad was one of the most compassionate men I have ever met. As he saw a need, he did not turn his head, he turned his heart and reached out to make a difference and assist them at the point of their need.

One lesson that my father taught me over and over again was to give and it will be given back to you. Whether we were going on a trip to the grocery or on a family vacation, I'm reminded that every time my father saw a need, he was moved with compassion, and took time to lend a helping hand. It did not matter if he knew the individual or not, he felt it was his duty to give of himself and to help them at their point of need.

Twenty Two years ago, my dad was diagnosed with brain cancer. At the point of diagnosis, immediately his life changed. For nearly thirty years he had served as an engineer for the railroad. Now with the brain tumor, he could never drive a train again. Matter of fact, he was never able to work again. This devastated him. Our hearts were touched when those to whom he had worked with and reached out to for the past fifty four years of his life saw his need, they began to give back to him. Over the course of the next eight months of his life, his friends and family gave back to him ten-fold.

Every day is a gift from God. We have a choice to honor God in all that we do and seek to make an investment in the lives of others. We have one life, one chance to live this moment. You will never have the opportunity to relive today. Choose today to make a difference in someone's life. You will be glad you did.

Daily Prayer Focus: God, give us sensitivity today to the needs of those around us. May our lives be an investment for your Kingdom work.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go Ministry Supporters. It takes teamwork to make the dream work! Our ministry supporters have made commitments to play a vital part of our team through praying, sharing, caring, going, and growing.

What Does the Lord Require?

What Does the Lord Require? by Joan Cook

When thinking about the New Year and what God would have me do in 2016, I look in the book of Micah 6:8. The Bible tells us, "He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?"

1. Do Justice - stand up for the rights of those who can't defend themselves: the orphans, widows, unborn babies. When you know what is right and do not stand up for it, you are not standing up for justice.

2. Love Kindness - It is so easy for us to be kind and show love toward others. Being kind is one of the basic characteristics of a Christian's life.

3. Walk Humbly with God - Humility is valuing others - not making yourself look big by making others look small. Also, acknowledging that God is God and knowing we look to Him for our being.

If we can do these three things in 2016, we will do well! "Do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with your God".

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that in 2016, you will do what the Lord requires of you.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The GoTeam Short Term Missions Projects and GoTeam Members. GoTeams are made up of young people and adults who voluntarily go on an On The Go mission project around the world and are making a strategic impact for Christ.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

All across the globe, people from every language and every country are celebrating the New Year! The Staff at On The Go Ministries would like to wish each of you a very Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Today we would like to take this time to reflect on truths from God's Word. Please read these verses prayerfully and expectantly.

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Jeremiah 29:11

"Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:19

"O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!" Romans 11:33

"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." Psalm 1:1-3

May God richly bless you today and everyday throughout 2016!

Daily Prayer Focus: Commit this new year to the Lord. Ask God to give you visions and dreams as you seek His focus for the new year.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Keith Cook Crusades, Celebrations, and Festivals. God has given Keith the opportunity and privilege of sharing the message of Christ both stateside and internationally.
