Be Confident

Be Confident by David Brandon

"For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6

A number of years ago Keith and I were in Korea holding crusades. We saw God work in a mighty way, but as a young minister I had many questions and struggles. The most pressing was my uncertainty of whether or not I would make it in ministry.

On the way home there was a lay over in Tokyo, Japan. While there I took a walk to pray and read the Bible. My spirit was burdened deeply about the uncertainty of my future. My new testament opened to Philippians 1:6.

It was as if the words leaped off the page and into my heart. I was flooded with joy and a new confidence that what God had started in my live He would finish.

Over the years when I struggle with a new problem I recall today's scripture, then I am able to move forward with confidence that God would keep His word and see me through whatever came my way.

Confidence comes from standing on God's word and putting full trust in His faithfulness to do the work, His work, in me.

God is doing a great work in you! Be confident He's with you. He'll do it.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for confidence!

On The Go Prayer Focus: All the local churches, committees, and leaders who will be working with On The Go Ministries and the Keith Cook Team in creative outreach efforts in the United States and around the world.

Witnessing to Disaster Stricken

Witnessing to Disaster Stricken by Keith Cook

"In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears." 2 Samuel 22:7

With all the news about storms and disasters looming over parts of our nation, I thought it would be good to look at how to minister in times like this. Servants of Jesus Christ must be able to go to where the people are and must arrive prepared to minister to people who find themselves in many unique and often difficult situations. As you seek to be led by the Spirit you will find yourself needing to arrive prepared to minister and comfort real people with real problems. Here are some simple suggestions for ministering to hurting people.

1. Be Alert - Pay attention to outward signs of neglect, abuse, need, or problems. Long before the physical storms have come many emotional and physical storms have already hit. Be alert to old scars that God may show you and help at that point of need also.

2. Don't Play God - Don't run ahead of God, or try to fix all their problems in the flesh. Hear from God and follow His direction. Guard your heart and emotions. Do not let circumstances or emotions direct you. Let God. Meeting one need in Jesus name is better than not meeting any. Christ is in control and will use the entire body of Christ to help.

3. Focus On First Things First - Focus on one physical need and one spiritual need at a time. People with enormous needs can be overwhelmed with too many options at one time. They may be in emotional and physical shock. Work on basic needs first or the most vocal need they may be expressing. Their desire for knowledge and information should be a primary concern. Assure them they are as safe as they possibly could be and that God is directing their recovery, not just you or the authorities.

4. Get Real Help - Don't get in over your head. It is not a sin to use professionals and agencies that will provide total ministry.  Letting the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Samaritans Purse, local hospitals, police, or even another ministry meet a need is just as spiritual and needed as going it alone. Together we all can get more done than by ourselves!

5. Do not judge them or on the other hand condone any of their past actions or problems. You just speak a word about Jesus or meet a need. People come unglued during times of crisis. They yell at their children, strike out at caregivers, curse God, and do and say things they normally would never do or say. Just love them. Care for them. Comfort them. God has given you a healing salve to pour on their life. Pour!

6. Make Sure You Minister - If God has placed you in this situation you are there to minister to them. Be bold and sensitive at the same time. Do not neglect the spiritual duty you have to bring Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit to the situation. Human resources alone cannot solve their problems. While God did not bring this disaster to them He can lead them through it. You are there as a Christian minister. Share Christ, not humanism. Share the love of Jesus, not the philosophy of man. God has a plan for their life - they, like everyone, have sinned against God - Jesus is God's way to salvation - come to Christ and let Him be the savior they need.

7. Be Realistic - Expect difficulties, expect abuse, confrontations, questions, misjudging your motives, and for them to even be suspicious. Because of the abuse of the press and media at attacking the church and para-church groups, many in our culture think all Christians are out to get money from them or abuse them. Everyone will not accept your love and help. Some, who desperately need your assistance, will walk on by because of preconceived ideas they have about you or the church. With that in mind it is important to share Christ and the work of the Lord in a casual way. Never push your faith on anyone. Look for natural and spirit directed doors of opportunity. Divine appointments are obvious and never result in confusion.

8. Be Spiritually Prepared - Know what you believe and what the Bible has to say about sin, love, forgiveness, tragedy, addictions, hope, recovery, reconciliation, and the consequences of sin and not getting right with God. When Christ leads you in a conversation it is good to have resources stored up in your heart and mind. You get spiritually prepared when you take time to study the Word of God, read Christian materials and books, search out Christian internet sites, go to Christian seminars and lectures, and spend time in prayer. Ask questions, read, research, dig deep. You are a representative of King Jesus!

9. Be Smart - If you are sharing as a member of a church group or outreach team remember to stay close to your group. In any kind of helping hand or spiritual counseling situation do not get in a situation where you are alone with strangers or are in a dangerous situation. Remember you are under a covering of that local church or ministry and do not neglect their rules and instructions. Thinking you are hearing from God and breaking rules and instructions doesn't honor Christ. Ask for permission to not follow normal guidelines and suggestions. Use your God given resources of experience, leadership, Lordship, and partnership to direct you in all you do.

10. It's A God Thing - Expect God to show up and do a work in the person's life. God will and can work through you to help them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Trust Him to direct your steps and guard your path. Helping others in Jesus name is the ultimate ministry. Jesus was a helper also. He went around meeting needs as He saw them. If you ever need a guide to what to do when helping others look in the Bible and just do what Jesus did!

He went to the people - did not wait for them to come to Him.

He asked probing questions - saw where they really were and what they thought they needed.

He gave them hope as He shared the truth - He spoke to their real needs with insight and love.

He helped them - He always blessed the people by meeting their real needs.

Why not go today and seek the Lord and ask for permission and direction to help those who are suffering right now. If you do not know where to look to offer your assistance begin with your local pastor. You also can contact other Christian ministries who do these kinds of ministries. Our ministry has a whole department called, GoCare, that offers help and hope in Jesus name. Every outreach project we do has a GoCare worker on it to make sure we take the cup of cold water with us as we take the bread of life. May God bless you as you go into all the world for Jesus.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for individuals who have been affected by recent storms and floods. Pray for their strength, protection, and safety. Pray for Christian ministries involved in Disaster Relief.

The Glory of God

The Glory of God by Joan Cook

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handywork." Psalm 19:1

I love to go to the beach. It is my favorite place in the entire world to go on vacation. It is a very relaxing place for me. I love to sit on the sand at twilight and listen and watch as the waves break and crash on shore. My husband, Keith, on the other hand loves the mountains. He loves to go to a little cabin nestled in the middle of the mountains and get alone with the Lord. The majesty and grandness of the mountains makes him feel like he's almost touching heaven.

God is so good to us to have created all of this beauty for us to enjoy! For those who say they do not believe in God or say that they believe the world just came into being because of a cosmic boom must be physically blind. The Bible says in Psalm 19 that the heavens declare His glory and the earth shows all of His handiwork! All we have to do is look around to see the wonderful and awesome power and work of God.

Daily Prayer Focus: Take the time today to observe the beauty the Lord has created for us to enjoy!

Close Encounter

Close Encounter by Keith Cook

"Bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ. For each one shall bear his own load." Galatians 6:2, 5

A close encounter implies coming along side another person with the intention to help bear their burden and not leave them or quit till the task is done. Everyday you come in contact with children, church leaders, lost people, co-workers, relatives, and friends! You can have numerous close encounters.

When you help someone you share a part of yourself. You give your time, talents, love, and energy to help them succeed or live as God would have them live.

When you give encouragement to another Christian you also share in the rewards of their service and efforts. These blessings are not always obvious to an outsider, but in your heart you will receive joy and satisfaction in being used by God to help another. Sometimes the Lord will even let you see positive, obvious, tangible results of your service.

If you have looked with the eyes of love then God has shown you some people you need to come alongside to help them bear their burdens. You are called to take the time and make the effort to meet the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of those you have come in contact with.

As you desire a closer relationship with Jesus, you will also desire to come close with those He brings across your path.

Close Encounter List: (List the individuals God has placed on your heart)

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

After you make your list ask God what He would have you do to help, encourage or simply comfort each of those on your list.

Jesus Does Not Change

Jesus Does Not Change By Keith Cook

In Hebrews 13:8, the Bible says, "Jesus Christ is the same" When? "Yesterday, Today, and Forever."

Say to yourself, "Yesterday, Today, and Forever". He is the same. He does not change. The calendar changes, the clock changes, the century changes, everything about our culture may change, but God says, "I have not changed." Period. No explanation is needed.

Not too long ago, I was talking with a pastor from Nevada about our world and culture. We were in his office talking about how our culture seems to be going crazy. It may seem like people today are living more for themselves than ever before, yet Jesus Christ is the same. CEO's may swindle millions from corporations, accountants may mishandle funds, politicians may rant and rave for selfish political reasons, but Jesus stays the same. We can count on Him! He will always steer us straight. He will always represent the truth. He will always provide a way out of any of our mistakes and give us hope for our future.

Daily Prayer focus: Right now ask Jesus to guide you today. He has blessed in the past and He will bless you again in the future. He has answered prayers in the past and His love will provide guidance again today. Ask Him. Trust Him. Talk to Him!

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's GoCamp ministry that trains believers all over the world how to share their faith.

Every Detail

Every Detail by Joan Cook

"But the very hairs of your head are all numbered." Matthew 10:30

Recently, I received an email from a friend I'd like to share with you.

While attending a marriage seminar on communication, Bill and his wife, Sue, listened to the instructor declare, "It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other."

He then addressed the men, "Can you describe your wife's favorite flower?"

Bill leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and whispered, "Pillsbury, All-Purpose, isn't it?"

While this story is amusing, I'm afraid it is all too often true!

We might not know the intricate details of our friends, families, or even spouse's lives, but guess what? God does! The Bible very clearly tells us that He knows us so well He has the hairs of our head numbered. If God knows how many, or perhaps few, hairs you might have, don't you think He is interested in every detail about our lives, no matter how big or how small!

What a mighty God we serve!

Daily Prayer Focus: Think on Him and His awesomeness today!

Midnight Caller

Midnight Caller by Laurie McTier

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10

Recently, I was getting ready for bed when all of sudden, outside, I heard brakes squealing and metal. I looked out of my bedroom window to see a dark car crashing into our fence, right next to my bedroom. I ran outside to make sure the driver was okay while calling Metro Police.  But, before I could get outside, the driver sped away. Immediately, two neighbors came down to check to make sure that everyone was okay. My husband was out of town, so I was grateful for their help. They had seen the whole thing and agreed to be witnesses for the police report.

While accessing the damage of the fence, I noticed the license plate from the speeding car was right at the edge of the fence. Ten minutes later a young man walked into the yard. I thought he was coming to check on me, but he had another agenda. He came to grab the license plate! I tried to tell him that it was evidence and that the police were on the way. But that did not stop him. He knelt down, picked up the plate, and walked up the street. When the police arrived, we filled out a report, and then I gave him the address of the young man who came to get the plate.

Many emotions were running through my mind. My thoughts were racing through the incident and I was angry and upset.  Immediately, God began to show me that He had protected my family and my home.  The fence had served as a barrier so that the car had not hit my house and possibly injured me! God also reminded me of the following scripture..."Perfect Peace has he whose mind is stayed on Thee." (Isaiah 26:3)

As I began to share the incident with my husband, God reminded me that sometimes we get just a glimpse of how His protective hand is at work. He guides our every step, He protects His children from danger, and He provides for our every need. What a blessing to be called a Child of God!

Prayer Focus: Praise God for His WatchCare and Protection!

On The Go Prayer Focus: The Finances of Team as they boldly go out for Jesus Christ. Pray that all their needs will be met at home and for the projects they are working on.

Faith Lessons

Faith Lessons by Keith Cook

"If we believe not, he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself."  II Timothy 2:13

While preaching a crusade in New York, God showed me the most delightful little book.  The title of the book is "Proving God". This book was printed in 1956.  The author chronicles the faith experiences of the China Inland Mission, the great mission that was founded by J. Hudson Taylor.

In the forward J. Oswald Sanders noted several things that I thought would be interesting to you.

1.  God will even use His enemies to fulfill His purposes
2.  God is never taken by surprise
3.  God is never too late
4.  God will care for His children
5.  God uses a variety of methods to supply our needs

As you go about your day, consider these faith lessons.

Daily Prayer Focus:  Pray that today you will begin to exercise faith in every area of your life.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The Families of the On The Go staff. Pray for their emotions, finances, safety, wisdom, and physical and spiritual health.

Does It Have To Be One Of Those Days?

Does It Have To Be One Of Those Days? By Keith Cook

"Our help is in the name of the Lord God, who made heaven and earth." Psalm 124:8

My mother-in-law gave me this little prayer a few years ago. I can really relate to it and thought I'd pass it along for you to enjoy, also!

Have you ever said a prayer like this?

I want to thank you, Lord, for being so close to me so far this day.

With your help, I haven't been impatient, lost my temper, been grumpy, judgmental, or envious of anyone.

But, I will be getting out of bed in a minute, and I think I'll really need your help then.

Amen

God does want to be your help. Let him help you today, tomorrow and forever.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that the gifts of the spirit will be evident in your life, even after you get out of bed in the morning!

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's World Outreach Center (WOC). This is our main office and training facility. Pray for God to protect the building, guard the mechanical and structural aspects of the facility, and use the facility for maximum eternal benefits.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

On The Go with Jesus

On The Go with Jesus by Evangelist Keith Cook

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

Most people never really get outside their local church and serve Christ as a World Christian. I'm sure if you are reading this devotional from On The Go you are not like most people. You have already taken a giant step in hearing God's voice and responding to His call to service.

God is probably sending you out to do great and mighty things for Him every day. You may have heard it said "God does not send you out on a ten dollar mission with only nine dollars." What He initiates, He finishes. What He sponsors is successful. He has led you this far and His word says He will continue to make a way in the wilderness. Do not fear, we have His protection, and we are the "apple of His eye."

What makes a person bold? Does Christ want only "Super Hero" type Christians to follow Him into battle against Satan? True boldness is "Holy Boldness." Holy boldness comes when one is trusting in Christ for strength, not themselves.

When I stand up in the streets to preach, I must admit, each time I am afraid. Boldness is not automatic or continual. As I face a new situation I must call on Christ for guidance. He always gives me the right words to say. The Bible says not to worry, just be ready. "Having done all you can do to stand, stand!"

As you stand up for God at home, at work, at school, or on a mission project remember that you have hundreds of prayer partners and co-laborers around the world standing in the gap with you.

May God bless you as you continue to be "on the go"!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for the Lord's strength and for Holy Boldness as you share Christ.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The follow-up of inquirers who come publicly and make decisions for Christ, write in for materials to grow in Christ, or who visit our website looking for help in following Christ. Pray for local believers, churches, parents, and friends who all will be used of God to nurture each and every one to maturity in Christ.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

All in God's Time

All in God's Time - Laurie McTier

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

Recently our team traveled out of the country to minister in schools, churches and a local seminary. God knew all of the specific details that had to occur for each of the team to travel and minister.

The week prior to the project, each member of our staff were on the phone with travel agents, airlines, visa services, politicians, pastors, and the missionaries trying to do everything we knew to do to make sure that all of the specifics were taken care of for each person on the team to participate. God knew that each and every team member was a vital asset and greatly needed.

As we prepared, we had faith and trusted God to do the miraculous. There were many obstacles prior to this project; but we knew that these obstacles were nothing in God's eyes. He was on top of things; He had it all under control.

For this project, there were many walls. It took the team over 31 hours to reach our final destination. The first night we had three and one half hours of sleep before our first outreach. As we went to bed that evening, we prayed and asked God to bless our rest. Those three hours were some of the most blessed and restful hours of sleep that we have had in years.

God is never late, and often times not early. He is however, always right on time. God knows when the money for the project is due, He knows when we must have the passport and visa on hand. His Word promises us as His children that He will supply all of our needs in Christ Jesus.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God will enable you to truly trust Him to meet your every need.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Those who need to make decisions for Christ as On The Go and the Keith Cook Team shares the Gospel around the world. Pray that they will hear a clear message about Christ, that the Holy Spirit will move them to a point of decision and that they will be bold enough to publicly respond for Christ.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Little Things Mean A Lot

Little Things Mean A Lot - Keith Cook

"A friend loves at all times." Proverbs 17:17

For the last three days, the devotion has been based on the same subject, an automobile accident that my wife and I were in several years ago. There are many lessons to learn from trials! For instance, you know we are to live for Jesus and are to be a witness for Him. I want to share something in relation to our automobile accident that is really important. It is how much the little things in life really do count.

When we came home from the hospital, we were taking pain medication and were still in shock from the whole ordeal. Of course, we were both laid up in bed for several days unable to do much at all. It was amazing how our friends and family came to our aid. We received over 106 emails from people saying, "get well, do better, we are praying for you..."

They were all sending us words of confidence and words of encouragement. We also had friends making gifts and coming by to see if they could do anything for us. We had one gentleman FedEx a DVD player to us so we could watch movies in the bed. Another friend brought us groceries and meals for a week. So many people were doing things for us to help in our healing.

In relationship to sharing your faith, one of the primary things we need to do if we are going to win someone to Christ and be a witness for the Lord, is to start doing the little things! Send someone a card when they are sick. Make dinner for a friend. Telephone someone just to say hello. Offer to baby sit for a couple that may not have the money to pay a sitter. There are so many little things we can do to let someone know you care. Take the time today!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that the Lord will show you someone that you can do something nice for today!

On The Go Prayer Focus: The physical, spiritual, emotional, and financial needs of people hurting all over the United States and Worldwide. As God gives us opportunity in times of crisis we need to rapidly move to help.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

More For Him

More For Him by Keith Cook

"Let us not grow weary in doing good..." Galatians 6:9

In today's devotion, I would like to continue sharing a little bit about the story of how my wife and I were in a car accident several years ago. First of all let me say that my wife and I have completely recovered. God has taught us so many wonderful lessons through all of the events that I would like to share some of them with you.

I will never forget the thought that ran through my mind when I was pulled out of the vehicle after our accident. As I regained consciousness, a man was beating on the window of the car saying, "I have got to get you out! I have got to get you out! The car is going to blow up and is on fire!" As they are pulling me out and are laying me on the road, I asked my wife how my injuries looked. She looked at me and said, "I think it looks pretty bad."

I can remember saying, "Honey I want you to know that I love you and I love our son." In my mind I remember thinking, "Jesus, I love my wife, but I really wish I had more time to do things for You." The same thoughts came going through my mind as I sat on the road waiting for the ambulance, "I love my wife and I want to do more for God, I love my wife and I want to do more for God."

When it boils down to the final seconds of your life, there are many things that you will love and there are many things that you will regret. I love my wife! I love my son! I love my family! I love my country! But, I still want to do more for God. I know you do too!

Daily Prayer Focus: Ask the Lord how you might serve Him today and do all you can do for God!

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's USA Outreach Effort. God has placed a United States effort on the heart and mind of the On The Go Team. Three key objectives are sharing, praying, and training in every county in the USA using On The Go Advance Teams, Training Teams, Planning Teams, Prayer Teams, GoTeams, and Outreach Efforts.

Always Ready to Give An Answer

Always Ready to Give An Answer by Keith Cook

"We are a fragrance of Christ." 2 Corinthians 2:15

Even in the middle of your pain Jesus can use you. The past few days devotions have been about some of the things my wife and I have learned through our automobile accident a few years ago. Again I must stress that Joan and I have fully recovered, yet there were so many lessons we gathered from the events that we must continue to share the truths God shared with us.

One night about a week after our car accident, while I was still trying to recover, my wife looked at the wound on my head and said, "your head does not look very good. The wound is bigger than it should be and I think there may be something wrong." We rushed back to the emergency room where we found out that the blood was seeping from the wound and was causing a bubble of blood to form on my head. I had to have the wound drained and re-stitched. An emergency room nurse soon came into my room and began working on the area. The Lord spoke to me in a gentle voice and said, "Keith, I want you to talk to this lady about Me."

I began to witness to her as she was taking care of me. In the middle of this painful situation, this lady's whole demeanor changed. The Lord let us spend about an hour together where I was able to share with her and she was able to share with me about her spiritual life. She told me, "Normally I would not want to talk like this. I would just come in and do my job real quick, but for some reason tonight God is making this thing go so slow. I guess so we can talk about some things that are really important in my life."

Wow! What a blessing this visit to the hospital turned out to be for me. In the midst of my physical pain, the Lord wanted me to share with someone who was hurting spiritually. Remember, God can use you in the midst of your pain!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that the Lord will show you someone who may be hurting spiritually and use you to touch their life.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's Performing Arts Team. Pray for our team as we minister through drama, puppets, interpretive dance, and music. Our Performing Arts Teams are made up of volunteers and On The Go staffers who travel around the USA to local churches and events sharing the Good News.

He is Always There

He is Always There by Keith Cook

"I will be with you; I will not fail you nor forsake you." Joshua 1:5

Today in the devotional, I want to do something a little different and share with you something on my heart that I believe will inspire you and give you a confidence in the Lord that you may had never had before.

A few years ago, my wife and I were driving down the road. We did not have a care in the world. We had just left a Christian coffee house where some of our friends and family had been performing. We were really thinking about our visions and dreams for the future, so we had a great vision ahead of us, and a great past behind us.

Joan and I were singing Christian songs in the car, we were not speeding and were buckled up in our seat belts, just having a great time. Out of the corner of our eyes, we see this black vehicle speeding toward a stop sign. The boy driving the vehicle ran the stop sign and ended up stopping right in the middle of the road where Joan and I were driving. There was nothing that my wife could do and we plowed right into him and then into a ditch and hit a tree. In that moment we were thinking, "is this going to be our last"?

I want to ask you a question today? If it were your last moment, are you ready to meet the Lord? Are you prepared to bring him crowns of rewards to place at his feet? You know that in those seconds before that vehicle hit us we had a lot of thoughts in our minds. But the number one thing neither one of us regretted was living for Jesus! Neither of us called on anyone's name but Jesus'. In the middle of our triumph and in the middle of our tragedy He was there for us and he can be there for you.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that the Lord will show you someone who may not know Him, so you can share what He has done for you.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's GoKids Clubs. The focus of GoKids Clubs is to present a clear Gospel message to young children in our festivals, missions, and local neighborhoods. Pray for On The Go as we minister to boys and girls and share with them the love of Jesus Christ.

How Great Is Your God?

How Great Is Your God? by Gloria Brandon

"To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare Him?" Isaiah 40:18

How Great Is Your God? Who can compare to your God?

In Isaiah 40, Isaiah tells us how great God is. It is God...

• Whose arm shall rule for Him (vs. 10)
• Who measures the waters in the hollow of His hand (vs. 12)
• Who measures the heaven with a span (which is the width of the out-stretched hand) (vs. 12)
• Who weighed the mountains and the hills in scales and balances (vs. 12)
• Who directed and taught the Holy Spirit (vs. 13)
• Who lifted the Isles as if it were a little thing (vs.15)
• Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain (vs. 22)
• Who numbers the stars and calls them by name (vs. 26)
• Who is the Creator of all the earth (vs. 28)
• Who gives power to the weak (vs. 29)

So who compares to God?

It certainly is not the nations, they are but a drop in the bucket (vs. 15), actually less than nothing and worthless before God (vs. 17). Even humanity doesn't compare to God. We are but grasshoppers according to verse 22.

How great is your God?

To what or whom are you giving the honor that belongs only to God? There is no comparison to the greatness of God!

Do you need strength today from the Creator of the universe?

"They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

Daily Prayer: Praise God for His Greatness!

What Will You DO?

What Will You DO? by Keith Cook

"And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work." Nehemiah 2:18

Right now each of us have many opportunities around us. "What will we do?" "What are our options?"

We could STAY AWAY: That is, we could do absolutely nothing. In doing nothing we leave a friend or associate alone and defenseless. To stay away takes no effort or faith on our part and offers no challenge with no rewards. When a person stays away from helping or coming to a person's aid they disqualify themselves from being a "messenger sent from GOD". As Christians we believe we are messengers of God. We can not help but preach, heal, pray, sing, and help!

We could STAY BACK: There is safety in this kind of attitude, yet on the other hand, there is no excitement or action. When you stay back you watch from a safety zone like a couch potato. You view life but do not really live life to its fullest. You critique and offer comment to others because it is easier than being in the game yourself. You are like an armchair quarterback who always could do it better but never does. If this describes you, you may wonder what it would be like to help another individual and be used of God. Do you find yourself never really feeling complete in your service to the Lord and others?

Do you wish you could DO something but you do not DO anything?

Let's press on!

Taking a risk and going the extra mile with someone takes courage, which is the majority of what enCOURAGEment is. In other words, encouragement means to have the courage to stand along side someone and be counted.

Praise God you have the courage to be an enCOURAGEment to those people God will send into your life to minister to this day.

In your willingness to serve God today by faith you have not stayed away and will not stay back!

What will you do? You will do all God has for you to do!

Daily Prayer Focus: God, forgive me for staying back when someone may have needed encouragement from me. Thank you that you supply the courage we need for the ministry of encouragement.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Malawi Team as they prepare for the Love Malawi Festival scheduled Friday through Sunday. Pray for Divine Appointments, Boldness, and Discernment as the Gospel of Christ is presented. Pray that God will begin to open the hearts of young people and adults to the Truth of the Gospel!

Your Personal SHARE Tools

Your Personal SHARE Tools by Keith Cook

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Matthew 6:19-21

God has given each of us personal share tools through which we can share our faith in Jesus Christ. Today, lets look at some of these tools and how we can best utilize them to further the Kingdom of God.

A.  Your Body - Our bodies are the temple of the Lord. We have been designed by God to use our bodies in service to the Lord. With our lips we praise Him. Our mouths are used to speak for Him. Our eyes are used to look at the needs around us as well as to examine the scriptures. Our hands are used to reach out for Him, and our feet are to be used to go for Him.

B.  The Bible - God gave us His Word to bless us and to lead us in all the ways we are to go. In the Bible we learn how to live, work, witness, and experience God.

C.  Prayer - In prayer we can move the hand of God to the needs of man. God has given us the gift of prayer to allow us to speak to Him and to hear from Him.

D.  Spiritual  Gifts - To each has been given spiritual gifts to glorify God in their bodies. Seek out the Lord to discover your primary ministry gift and serve Him with all your heart. All gifts are given to bless the needy and win converts to our Lord.

E.  God Given Talents - God has equipped each believer with wonderful talents that can be used to bring honor to Christ. Some have great voices to sing and proclaim His name. Some have organization skills and administrative tendencies to plan and direct great projects. Many have compassion and artistic expressions that God can use. Use every gift you have in service to the King of Kings.

F.  The Spirit of God - Once someone comes to Christ they have all the Power of the Holy Spirit to minister in fullness and truth. You are not left alone to minister for Christ. You have a guide, comforter, and counselor. Allow the Spirit to move you to service.

G.  Your Life - Every area of your life has been given to you to be used of God. Be a good steward of all you have been given. One day you should desire to hear the Lord say, "Well done my good and faithful steward."

Use each of these personal share tools to honor and serve the Lord each day.

Daily Prayer Focus: Praise God for the opportunity to serve Him today. Pray that you will glorify God by your Body, Bible, Prayer, Spiritual Gifts, and your Life and use them today for His Service.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's Love Malawi Festival in Mzuzu.  Festival Team ministering in Malawi through August 8, 2016. Pray for a mighty move of God across the nation of Africa as the Gospel is presented and for a bountiful harvest of souls. We will try to update our website daily as we have reports. Reaping And Sowing In Our Future Part 4

Reaping And Sowing In Our Future Part 4 by Keith Cook

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." Isaiah 26:3

We have been looking at how we can sow: Love, Stability, Faith, and Hope into people's lives. Shall we go deeper into what God has to say about sowing for our future? Yes!

5. We can sow Peace - "Blessed are the peacemakers" God would have all of us sow peace into every situation we face with others. When we stir up a situation and encourage someone to be mad or react in anger, we are doing them no real service. We should calm fears and help to bring God's peace on earth.

A few years ago my wife, Joan, and I were walking in an inner city neighborhood where we have been ministering for the last ten years. We know them and they know us. It is a rough and violent place at night. During the day it is sad to walk around and see the scars of nightly sins of alcohol, drugs, and sexual abuse.

On this particular day we had a team out praying door to door with all our neighborhood friends. It had already proved to be a great morning. God was blessing and several individuals had been blessed by our visits.

Joan spotted Shelia, one of our favorite ladies in the neighborhood and started to visit with her. While Joan was talking with her I noticed a man standing near them. He looked at me and then he looked away. Without posing a threat to him, I started moving toward him and casually said "Hello." He looked at me and said "Stay away! I've got murder on my mind!"

When he said this my mind immediately went into gear thinking: "I've got a team ministering in the community and we could have a safety problem." "My wife is in danger and has no idea that this man is thinking about killing someone." "What can I do to help this man not murder someone?"

Quickly I asked the Lord for direction and in my heart He told me to bring His peace to this man and not to be afraid. God assured me in my heart that He would protect me, my wife, and the team.

For nearly an hour I was able to share with the man and speak God's love to him. He shared that evil thoughts had been flowing through his mind all day. By the time I left he had calmed down and said that he would not kill anyone.

Several minutes later one of our prayer teams met him at his house and prayed with him. I had not told them about my prior visit. (I was standing outside the porch listening to their prayer time for safety reasons!) Once they were finished they all came out and with the man in tow, they came over to me and he proudly reported that he now had peace in his mind not murder. He had accepted Jesus into his heart.

His girlfriend said that he needed a touch from God and had been praying for God to send help. God had answered our prayers!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that you will be a sower of good seed into people's lives.

Reaping And Sowing In Our Future Part 3

Reaping And Sowing In Our Future Part 3 by Keith Cook

"We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfill all thy petitions. Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright." Psalms 20:5-8

So far this week we have noted that we can sow: Love, Stability, and Faith. Let us continue to look deeper into sowing for our future.

4. We can sow Hope - Sowing hope in someone's life brings great reward. When we go out of our way to see the needs of others and then ask God how we can help meet those needs, we will be blessed. Christians are known the world over for their compassion and giving spirit.

A few years ago we met Pastor Daniel. We had been preaching in Kenya and had seen around 6,000 decisions for Christ. Pastor Daniel said that the people of the slum area where we were preaching had no hope of ever growing in Christ because they did not have a church.

His church was in the suburbs and they could not tend to the needs of the people in that area. With tears in his eyes he said that he would be willing to leave his church in order to come start a new church in the slums. God quickly led us to help him bring hope to the people. We helped him build a simple church for the people.

I asked him what he hoped to do at the church. He relayed that his heart is to take the Jesus film and show it in all the slums of the city and at all the markets in the surrounding villages. The only problem is that he did not have a projector. We all prayed with him and returned to the U.S.A. One of our staff, Laurie McTier, went to church upon her return from Kenya, and learned that they had a projector that they wanted to give away. Is there any doubt who received the projector? Pastor Daniel!

God loves to use His church and Christians to bring hope to those in need. Financial, emotional, and spiritual needs are all the same to our God. He brings hope to each!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that you will sow Hope to all you meet today.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go Ministry Supporters. It takes teamwork to make the dream work! Reaping And Sowing In Our Future

Reaping And Sowing In Our Future Part 2 by Keith Cook

"Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary." Galatians 6:9

Yesterday we saw how we can sow Love and Stability. Today, let us look deeper into sowing for our future. God says we will reap what we have sown. The Bible says we can sow into people's lives, we can share into people's lives, and we can be a blessing in someone's life.

3. We need to sow Faith - By sowing into other people's lives we can help their faith grow stronger. When we help someone trust God and see God work in their lives we have helped them prepare for their future life with Christ.

Think about which individual brings out the best in you? Who encourages you to trust and believe God for great visions and dreams? In my life it is probably Shad Williams. Shad is a crazy evangelist who travels all over the world sharing Christ. Several times a year we minister together in crusades in Kenya or India and God always uses Shad to build up my faith.

I will never forget years ago sitting in a Kroger grocery store parking lot with Shad. We both had just gotten in from projects overseas and we had very little money. Our wives had sent us to get groceries. We pooled our pennies and bought a box of crackers. We both were in tears leaving the grocery store.

On the way back to his house Shad started telling war stories. Now war stories are stories about great things God had done in our lives while working for God. We quickly were laughing and both were trying to one up the other as to who could tell the greatest illustration of God's provision. By the time we finally came in from the store we both were full of renewed hope and confidence in our calling, our God, and our faith.

Upon entering the house we discovered that the girls had found some food and had cooked up a great meal. We all rejoiced. The next day when Joan and I returned to our house we discovered that one of our friends had gone out and shopped for food for us and had left well over three hundred dollars worth of groceries in our kitchen.

God had worked a great miracle. Why? Because a faith sower had shared into our lives. Why not start sowing faith into people's lives? Be used of God to move people beyond pity and self-absorption into faith and trust in God and His faithfulness.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that you can live by faith today and in the future. Sow faith. Encourage others to live by faith.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The GoTeam Short Term Missions Projects and GoTeam Members. GoTeams are made up of young people and adults who voluntarily go on an On The Go mission project around the world and are making a strategic impact for Christ. This week our GoTeam and Festival Team will be sharing the Gospel in Mzuzu, Malawi. Pray for the team as they continue their journey via plane and car to Malawi.

Reaping And Sowing In Our Future

Reaping And Sowing In Our Future by Keith Cook

News Event: Mzuzu, Malawi Festival dates are set for August 1-9, 2016! On The Go Team Members will begin their journey via plane enroute to Malawi. God has opened up doors for Leadership Conferences, Festivals, Women Conference, Community Outreach, and Local Church Services. Please pray for our team and for each of those to whom they will be ministering to. Pray for Keith Cook, Zach, Sarah, Sierra, and Kailah Blickens, Matt Kearney, Scott Countryman, and Daniel King.

"And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase. He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease." Psalm 107:37, 38

The Bible says that we need to face the future, that our future is not affected by the culture, the economy, terrorists, or the calamities that are going on. The Bible says that our future is directly tied to our trusting in the Lord and that it is unwise not to consider our future.

The next thing about our future is that we reap in the future what we have sown in the past. If we haven't sown or stored up anything, we won't reap anything. If you haven't trained up an army for the Lord, you won't have an army that is ready to fight when the enemy rushes in. If you haven't seeded into your children faith principles and godliness when they are young, then when they go off to college or when they go out into the world and they face problems and are struggling, or their wife leaves them, or their child does something crazy, they won't know what to do.

God says we reap what we have sown. The Bible says we can sow into people's lives, we can share into people's lives, and we can be a blessing in someone's life. We can make a difference in this world, but we have to do it. Some of us when calamities happen are not prepared because we have not sown enough good seed into our lives and into the lives of others around us.

SOW

1. We can sow Love - Love is an attitude and it is contagious. When you return love for hate, God wins. When you act in love and refuse to react in fear, God wins.

2. We can sow Stability - Our lives can bring stability and strength to those around us. By living by God's standards, that are found in the Bible, we help bring stability into our world. Every time you turn the other cheek or help an enemy you are used of God to bring more stability into our culture.

Dave Ramsey and I have been friends for several years. He is man who has seen adversity in his life. In the past he has gone from rags to riches and back to rags. Then he heard the voice of God concerning how a Christian man and woman could be financially responsible and how Christians can get and stay out of debt. Through his pain God has taught him some profound principles and life lessons.

Dave sows financial stability into people's lives. He offers sound, solid Biblical advice on how to "owe no man anything". His life has been an inspiration to millions across the nation. The "Dave Ramsey Show" radio program is heard around the U.S.A. and his Financial Peace University Seminars are helping to deliver thousands from financial ruin. While visiting his office one day, Dave showed me a huge acrylic vat filled with cut up credit cards that people had sent him. This trophy of changed lives proves that Dave has been used of God in many people's lives. He has sown stability.

Daily prayer focus: Pray that you can sow love and stability to all you meet. Start today by living by God's principles and by mentoring others in love and stability.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Keith Cook Crusades, Celebrations, and Festivals. God has given Keith the opportunity and privilege of sharing the message of Christ both stateside and internationally. During each opportunity, Keith presents a joyful and enthusiastic, yet powerful and clear presentation of the Gospel and a call to commitment to Christ.  Pray for the Malawi Festival this week that the Gospel will be presented clearly and that God will give Keith and the entire team power, strength, and boldness.

Also pray for traveling mercies as the team  flies out to Mzuzu, Malawi..  The team will be ministering in Malawi through next Tuesday. Pray for safe travels, all luggage to arrive securely, smooth processing through customs, and rest as they travel.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.
