Who's Spirit Is In You

Who's Spirit Is In You by Keith Cook

"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)

Do you know that you can have a spirit in you? You really can. In this season where the devil, witchcraft, spooks and goblins are talked about with such ease it is good to know what we are really up against as Christians.

God gives us spirits. He actually gives us a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline.

We can also get a very negative and defeating spirit. This is the spirit of timidity or fear.

In our culture today it is imperative that Christians resist the spirit of fear and embrace God's spirit of love, discipline, and power. Fear is trust and faith in the Devil. That is in direct conflict with trust, which is total faith and dependence in God.

When we do not witness because of fear, we are not functioning in Christ's power.

When we are prejudice, prideful, or envious, we are not exercising our spirit of love.

When we are neglecting our devotional life or abandoning our bodies to sloth and entertainment we are rebelling against the Lord's spirit or self-discipline that He freely gives us all.

Today decide to:

1. Reject the natural and supernatural spirit of fear.

2. Embrace God's spirit of love, discipline, and power.

3. Allow Jesus to demonstrate Himself in and through you in power. Ask God to do something so awesome in your life that it is obviously Christ working in you. Chance and luck have nothing to do with it. It must be God!

4. Even now say no again to fear and the thoughts you are having as to why this will not work for you. Trust Jesus. Do it now!

Daily Prayer Focus: Focus on God's Power in you. What powerful thing does God want to do in and through you today!

On The Go Prayer Focus: All the local churches, committees, and leaders who will be working with On The Go Ministries and the Keith Cook Team in creative outreach efforts in the United States and around the world.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

How To Escape From The Enemy

How To Escape From The Enemy by Keith Cook

"Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth." Psalms 124:8

Today I would like to share with you some key information on how you can escape from the enemy.

1. Know that victory and escape are possible. The Bible tells us that we can do all things through Christ who is our strength.

2. Know that your escape from the enemy is actually part of God's master plan and design for your life. The Bible also says that "with every temptation there is a way of escape," and you can find your way out if you trust in Jesus and follow His leading.

3. Know that you can escape if you are willing to get help. Your help ultimately will come from the Lord, yet the Lord may use a pastor, friend, parent, or professional with knowledge that you do not know.  The Bible says in our passage that our help really comes from the Name! That name is Jesus. Let Him direct you and help you find all the help you need. He can guide you to people who can help you with your finances. He can direct you to people who would love to help you with your emotional and personal problems. The church and its ministries are vast. Gone are the days that Christians have to suffer because there is no hope of help and comfort.

4. Finally know that you can have victory over the enemy if you know the Lord is on your side. He will fight for you if you are His. How can you be His?

First. You have to make sure that all of your sins are forgiven and that they are confessed up-to-date. You may have come to Christ as a child but have wandered down many sinful and evil paths during the course of your life. To have victory you have to come clean.

Second. You also need to make sure you really believe in Jesus. Put your trust in Him, not the church, not a pastor, not a doctrine, or experience. Trust Jesus.

Third. You must make sure you have asked Jesus to be your Savior and if you have done that you must make sure you ask Him to continually be Lord in your life. Make Him the first priority. Give Him access to every area of your life.

Victory and escape from the enemy can be yours today. Reach out and take it by faith. Your victory march will be sweet!

Daily Prayer Focus: Ask God to show you areas in your life that are in bondage to the lies that the devil has tried to trap you under. Praise God that He has equipped you to fight against the enemy's strongholds and claim the victory in Christ.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go Ministry Supporters. It takes teamwork to make the dream work! Our ministry supporters have made commitments to play a vital part of our team through praying, sharing, caring, going, and growing. As our GoTeam ministers in San Pedro, Ivory Coast this week, would you serve as a Ministry Supporter by praying for our team that God will open doors and change hearts and lives for His glory.

The Enemy

The Enemy by Keith Cook

"If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:" Psalm 124: 2, 3

Did you know that you have an enemy aggressively trying to defeat you. He is not a terrorist or a physical robber who breaks into your home through conventional means. He attacks through spiritual, emotional, and mental avenues.

The Enemy

1. He fights you continually and is very dangerous. There is never a time when you can relax and let anything slide. You must be on guard all the time for his traps, snares, and advances. He is looking for any way he can to get in and mess up your life.

2. He also fights God and is destined to be defeated by God. You are on the winning side! Cheer up and fight from victory.

The Enemy's Plan

1. The enemy wants to snare and trap you. Traps can be sexual, financial, emotional, and even cultural.

2. He also wants to swallow you alive. He wants to literally take you out and ruin your reputation, your health, and your life. He wants to cause a Christian to have a premature death.

3. He is angry at you for your stand for Christ and directs other's anger to be kindled against you. He loves for anger to smolder constantly in your life and will not only try to use anger against you but to also have you become angry and out of control.

4.  The enemy wants to sweep over you and engulf you. He believes that constant pressure, rising doubts, and confusion and pain will cause you to lose heart and give up on living for Christ. But he does not know that your relationship with Christ is secure and is built on His faithfulness, not your own!

5. The enemy would like to tear you with his teeth. His desire to hurt you and feed off your pain actually drives him and his demons on. He lives off bringing pain to believers, yet you live by bringing peace and joy to all you meet. This will defeat his plan for your life.

Now that you know his plan, you can look out for signs of danger. You can prepare to escape his snares when they come. Tomorrow we will look at how to escape from him.

Daily Prayer: Praise God that there is Victory in Jesus over the enemy and his plan to entrap you. Praise God that "Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world"!

God Can Handle It

God Can Handle It by Keith Cook

Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name. 1 Chronicles 29:11-13

It would be a great thing if you would allow God to take control of your life. Many people try to get along without God's help. Many think of God as merely a cultural plot to keep the masses in line, but belief and submission to God is more than wishful thinking and fairy tales.

Believing in God, and having a personal relationship with Him through faith in Christ, is the beginning of a whole new way of life. It helps take the pressure off. Trusting in Christ brings hope and confidence back into one's life.

In order to let God handle it and make life complete you need to rely on the following divine truths and apply them to your life:

1. God did create this world and knows how it should operate and function.

2. God has the right to direct and order my life.

3. God made a way for me to be forgiven of my past sin against Him by my willingness to admit and repent of my sin, my putting my trust in Him by believing in His Son Jesus, and by my sincere commitment of my life to Him in prayer.

4. God will direct my life as I surrender my life to Him.

5. God will be there for me all through my life, if I let Him.

Rest assured, if you give all of your life to Christ He can handle it. He can take you through this life and into eternity safely.

Any problem, setback, heartache, tragedy can be handled under His steady direction.

Every opportunity, adventure, quest, and project will be enhanced and maximized by allowing Jesus to lead and control.

God can handle it. Why not let Him have all your life today.

Daily Prayer Focus:  Pray and give God sovereign, complete control of every area of your life today. Pray for sensitivity to recommit areas of your life to His control.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Keith Cook as he directs our Festival GoTeam to the Ivory Coast.  Please pray for traveling mercies as they fly out this morning.  The team will be ministering in San Pedro through Sunday November 5th. Pray for travel mercies, "Divine Appointments," opportunities to minister, decisions for Christ, and God's will to be done.

Designer Plates

Designer Plates by Keith Cook

"I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:"  Deuteronomy 30:19

My wife and I travel quite often and we love to look at license plates to see where our fellow travelers are from.  It is amusing to see all the different cultural and local expressions being manifested even by a person's choice of a simple license plate. Some have the basic, cheap as you can get, license plate.  Usually these are rather boring and bland. Some of the states include their motto, bird, flag, or colors on the plates.

Some car owners we pass have chosen a "designer plate" that reflects their favorite college or football team. Several always seem to have plates that reflect a special hobby or cause. I have a friend who is into bass fishing and he sports a bass fishing license plate. I personally would rather have a fish on my dinner plate!

We are always excited to see "Choose Life" license plates because that cause is dear to our hearts. It is getting harder and harder for Christians to reflect our opinions and causes in our culture. Many states are refusing to allow Christian slogans, clubs, schools, or causes to be reflected. Not only is this unconstitutional it is also setting a horrible precedent. Eventually everyone will just assume it is right because it has been done this way for so long. Is it not amazing that evil and humanism is creeping into every area of an individual's life, even our license plates.

On a personal and spiritual level we all need to remember that our lives are also special and by design. We have a designer and His name is Jesus. Each of us is special and unique to our God. We are not a standard run of the mill licensed un-human being. He knows our name, needs, and nature. The hairs on our heads are numbered, as are our days. We are humans created in the image of God. Our fingerprints are all different and our paths in life are all different.

1. Your designer has designed you with care. No matter how you feel about your life and yourself right now, God wants you to know He cares for you and that you are "fearfully and wonderfully made." You life is not an accident. You are not here simply because of biological functions. You are not a freak of nature or destined to aimlessly plod through life.

2. Your designer has designed you for a purpose. God has a divine plan for you. The Bible says, "no man can thwart God's plan." His ways are not always our ways. The diving mystery is how God has a plan for us and we still have a choice to follow or abandon His plan. His irresistible grace to us is free and special.

Every path and plan of God is designed for their good and for the good of all mankind. The wonderful journey we all are on called life is made special and exciting as we explore and discover what each new day brings and move even farther out of our comfortable present reality into the uniqueness of unchartered territory that God calls our future.

3. Your designer has designed you with a choice to make. All great men and women have decided to follow the plan God has for them. Even secular individuals who have risen to the head of their peers and made great strides for mankind did so because they decided to accept the challenges before them and do what they were designed to do. God directs and controls even those who lead out in our culture. He directed Pharoah in Moses' day and He even directs Democrats and Republicans today.  What about you? Why not ask Jesus what He would have you do and then decide to simply do it. No matter what. No matter the cost. No matter the strain. No matter - period! What will you do?

4. Your designer has designed you for greatness. I know it is hard to imagine but you are the greatest person who will ever be residing in your body. No matter what pagan religions say, you are the only you that you will ever be. Why not be a great you. Some are born with great hurdles to overcome. With God's help and with personal commitment to Christ and to His call on their lives they become all God would have them to be.

There are no excuses. No handicaps in the kingdom of God are allowed to stop anyone from using their present day to shine for Jesus. Even Samson who had given away the secret to his success to an evil woman, was allowed to shine for his God even at his death. Nothing can stop you from making this day God's day! Forget the past, confess all the failures and shortcoming and move on out from here to greatness.

What is the greatest thing you can do today? Just simply do what Jesus leads you to do. A cup of cold water in Jesus name is often more precious than a million dollar endowment. Just simply being where Jesus wants you to be when He wants you to be there and doing what He wants you to do is enough. The angels in heaven stand in amazement at all men and women can do for Christ. Will you become great today?

5. Your designer has designed you for Heaven. That's right. God wants you in heaven with Him one day. His desire is for you to leave this life "after you have served your generation" and then live with Him forever. The good news is that you have been designed by Christ to live with God forever.

After death your spirit and soul will be destined for eternity. For those with a right relation with Christ they will live forever in heaven with God. For those who reject God's earthly plan for their life they will live forever in Hell. Hell was never designed by God for humans. It is for the devil and demons. But sin cannot live in Heaven. "Sinners," those who have never allowed Jesus shed blood and sacrifice to remove and pay the penalty for their sins, will live in Hell forever. Jesus said that no one should desire to leave this life and live outside heaven with God.

In order to live forever in heaven when you die you must confess your sins to God, believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior, ask Jesus to come be your Savior. When you put all your trust and hope in Christ He will give you a home in heaven and give you purpose, hope, peace, and direction in life.

You have been designed to only be happy in Jesus. Your designer did a great job on you. Reflect His design to the world today.

Daily Prayer Focus:  Choose today to walk in the center of God's will for your life. Pray that you will walk in obedience and in contentment to God's Designer Plan for  your life.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's GoCamp ministry that trains believers all over the world how to share their faith.

It's A Fact

It's A Fact by Keith Cook

But I fear that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your minds may be corrupted from a complete and pure devotion to Christ.  2 Corinthians 11:3

The Fact is this, Jesus Is Real - Heaven Is Real - The Devil Is Real - Hell Is Real.

No matter what you have heard, read, or seen on television, God is not dead, Jesus was more than a prophet, and eternity will be waiting for everyone when they die.

The cultural elite want to program God out of our culture.

They want everyone to be free to live a hedonistic life, with no rules, no guilt, no authority figures, no responsibility for decisions.

They see the Church, the Bible, and Christians as being old fashioned, outdated, narrow minded, and lacking intelligence.

Yet, nothing has changed since the foundation of the world.

The devil came to Eve, in the garden, and basically tried the same thing:

The devil tried to get Eve to question God's word.
The devil wanted Eve to try to analyze God's commands.
The devil took Eve down the destructive path of trying to critique the value of following God through obedience to the will and commands.

Eve fell for it and so did Adam. Mankind has been falling for it ever since.

Today you need to live by the Facts as presented by God in His Word.

Instead of questioning God's Word you must study God's Word and allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate your heart and mind to all the riches and treasures found within its pages and precepts.

Flee from the temptation of analyzing God's commands and just do what He says do. His ways are not our ways. His wisdom is from the beginning and the end. He knows everything, sees everything, can do anything. We know little, see through clouded eyes, and can not do most things. By just doing what God instructs us to do eliminates the limitations of man being in charge and opens up the potential of an almighty, all powerful, all knowing God being in control.

Instead of critiquing the value in following Christ rely on Christ. Eagerly look to Him for direction, comfort, and provision. Living life on His highest plane will bring a wealth of reward and security.

Today God is calling you to live your life in the facts as presented to you in His Word. It's a fact you can rely on. It's a fact you can depend on. You can stake your life and future on it too!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God will allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate your heart and mind to the riches and treasures in God's Word!

On The Go Prayer Focus: All the Ministry Partners, Missions, Missionaries that On The Go ministers with. It takes team work to make the dream of reaching the world a reality.

Making Memories

Making Memories by Laurie McTier

"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalms 46:10

A few years ago, God gave my husband and I the opportunity to take up bicycle riding as we seek to exercise more and to honor God with our bodies. This has given both of us time together and alone to talk with God and allow Him to speak with us.

Recently, while riding in Nashville, it was raining and I didn't want to get the phone or camera wet. I usually like to take the phone along for safety reasons, as well as to listen to music while I ride. On this particular day, as I rode, God reminded me, "Laurie, you don't need a camera, together we are making memories, precious memories as together we are seeking to Get Fit Spiritually and Physically!"

I literally had to pull over off the trail, to dwell on this truth. God has so much in store for us, He wants to share His riches and His truths with us each and every day. Often times, though, we are just too busy to observe the memories. Take time today to seek the Lord and watch His hand. He is creating a Masterpiece in you!

Daily Prayer Focus: Praise God for His Truths given to you each day and the Masterpiece He is creating in you!

On The Go Prayer Focus: The follow-up of inquirers who come publicly and make decisions for Christ, write in for materials to grow in Christ, or who visit our website looking for help in following Christ. Pray for local believers, churches, parents, and friends who all will be used of God to nurture each and every one to maturity in Christ.

Rejoice To See

Rejoice To See by Keith Cook

"Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad." John 8:56

The Big Picture - God wants us to join Him in looking at our world through His eyes. We need to see the "big picture" of what He is doing around the world. It is so easy to just focus on what He is doing in our neighborhoods. There is a grand scene. In Christ we can be a vital part of reaching out around the world. "Now" is a very strategic time. Right now is always better than tomorrow. Living in the here and now prepares you for a productive tomorrow and produces lasting results. If we waste the present we will rob ourselves of fruitful results in the future.

Great Progress - By faith Abraham rejoiced to see what God was going to do "in Christ". We are able to rejoice at what He has done! Through Christ we can see God's redemptive hand working down through the ages. There has always been a remnant of faithful believers who have stood up for Christ and who have been used in missions and evangelism. What great progress we have seen through godly men and women.

As I look around my office I can see portraits that I have collected of great men and women of valor and courage. Faithful servants like Billy Graham, C.H. Spurgeon, D.L. Moody, Billy Sunday, Luis Palau, George Whitfield, Corrie ten Boom, Loren Cunningham, Bertha Smith, John Wesley, Leighton Ford, and many more.

My bookcase is filled with faith stories from men and women from yesterday who have been used of God. Saints like C.T. Studd, Norman Grubb, Manley Beasley, Watchman Nee, Reese Howells, Praying Hyde, Hudson Taylor, George Mueller, and C.S. Lewis.

As I reflect on the great progress made for the cause of Christ in the past my heart rejoices at the progress being made today by gifted modern day evangelists.  My son, Keith Jr. is blazing a new and exciting trail of his own as an evangelist to this generation. He is a modern day Paul, ready to defend Christianity and the cause of Christ in the public arena. He sings songs that speak to this generation and writes music and words that reflect wisdom way beyond his years. He has been with Jesus. He is not ashamed to sing and minister boldly for Christ.

Recently, Joan, and I met a dear evangelist friend Shad Williams, and his wife Shelia, just before they were to board a plane for Europe and Africa. They were off to share the message of Jesus to the masses. His motto is "We Go To Them". As I listened to his burden for his project I got so excited that I wanted to jump in his car and follow him to the airport. I was rejoicing to see what he had already seen going on in Heaven. God had spoken to his heart and given him faith to believe Him for great things and expect great things. God would not let him down. While on his project he saw thousands come to saving faith in Christ.

God is doing so much around the world and around our neighborhoods. Look at the big picture, see the progress, rejoice and be glad for and in it!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God will allow you to see the Big Picture. Pray that you might be obedient and available to all that He would have you to do for Him today.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The Families of the On The Go staff. Pray for their emotions, finances, safety, wisdom, and spiritual health.

In Due Time

In Due Time by Keith Cook

"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." 1 Peter 5:6, 7

In this scripture passage, Peter says that now is not the time to run ahead of God, but to trust Him for in due time He will reward you with your desire to see His will done in your life.

Sometimes it is wrong to do something now.

A "NOW" reaction can result in the following three things:

N - A near sighted immediate response rather than a God directed power expression of faith.

O - The possibility of actually overlooking God's divine plan in a given situation.

W - The potential to wreck the future for all concerned.

Yet trusting Christ and letting the Holy Spirit guide you in due time can result in the following:

D - God will develop character in you as you wait on His will.

U - Waiting on God allows you to see Him unveil His plan not yours.

E - When God works every need is met. This is total provision.

T - Your testimony will be enhanced.

I - Personal interaction is required. You actually have to think, talk, pray, consult, include, and rely on God and others. It is actually communication to the max.

M - The mission of the Lord Jesus Christ is advanced.

E - Eternity is affected because you did it God's way, at God's time, and with God's results.

Wherever you are in your spiritual life, God wants you to wait on Him. There are times when God says GO for Him. But there are times when we cannot GO, we must WAIT for DUE TIME. Unless God has directed, commanded, or instructed us, we can not presume or assume to know His will and direction. This does not give us a license to not do what God instructs us to do as good and faithful servants, but it does require us to check in with Him for our every need and ministry.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that you will trust God and wait on His will in every area of your life this week.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's World Outreach Center (WOC). This is our main office and training facility. Pray for God to protect the building, guard the mechanical and structural aspects of the facility, and use the facility for maximum eternal benefits.
Praise God for Recent Renovation at the WOC just this past week!

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Look On The Fields

Look On The Fields by Keith Cook

Today there are needs all around us.

"Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest." John 4:34, 35

Never before in the history of the world has mankind been faced with such a godless society. Terrorism and materialism rule side by side.

Morals and decency have been thrown aside for prosperity and pleasures. Young people and adults go from one fad to the next looking for happiness.

The mood is set for a tremendous spiritual awakening.

Yet the hour is late for so many people. Before this day is over nearly 150,000 people will pass from this life into a Christless eternity. That is over 1 million people a week.

The fields are ripe for a move of God.

The fields are really ripe for harvest. Never before in the history of the world have more people been coming into God's kingdom. God is using wars and famine to move God honoring troops and social teams into place to reach cultures never before open to the message of Christ.

The collapse of communism in Eastern Europe has been used by God to move professionals, who are Christian, into key places of leadership and training. This is also beginning to happen in the Middle East.

Yet, at the same time God moves, so does the Devil. Sects and cults are also moving to meet human needs. Recently, I saw an ad where one cult was offering free airfare and education to any leaders from Eastern Europe, who wanted to be trained in business and economics. The Muslims are trying to buy converts all over Africa.

When the good governments see the trouble that their people are having they respond with social programs to help. It is time for the people of God to do the same. My friends, someone is dying and going to hell, can't we see that now is the time to do more and try more than ever before to reach them.

While we take aid around the world and across the street, let us also take the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Share our faith and practice modern day Christianity. The world is waiting to see what Christians are made of. Let the redeemed of the Lord get out into the fields of service. These is still time.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for boldness and courage to share about Jesus Christ. Pray for the lost that they will see their desperate need for Christ.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Strategic Decisions

Strategic Decisions by Keith Cook

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8

In our efforts to effectively work for Christ we are called to see the work that is to be done, prepare for the work we are to do, and complete all of the work given us to do.

Doing the massive and all important task of reaching all with the message of Christ will take more than just doing ministry as usual. All our methods of the past have been useful and used of God, but they are not necessarily the road map for our future ministry. The Word of God never changes, but the methods and ways Jesus directs us to work for Him forever will.

Jesus Himself used different methods to reach and minister to the masses and to individuals. He spoke in public to the religious and He spoke to the "pagans". He sent out the disciples in organized outreach efforts and then He would have them pray in secret. He went to homes to share with families and then he would go out into the public and meet someone by a well. Always using whatever was available to minister the unchanging message.

There are some Negative Aspects of Strategic Planning

1. Trusting Human Effort - Avoid relying on your plans and insights unless they are given and blessed by God. Do not get the plan and then get God to bless it. Ask God for His plan and then ask God to not let you mess it up!

2. Running Ahead of God - Often Christians hear from God, get excited, and run off and do God's plan ahead of God's schedule. This results in hurt feelings, bad timing, insensitivity, improper funding, and fighting battles that do not need to be fought.

3. Replacing A Move Of The Holy Spirit - Just working up a plan and not having God give a plan may look successful and may bring praise, but it will not bring "fruit that will remain". Imitating other ministries, churches, and Christians may make you look like a "spiritual" move of God but will not result in the power needed to actual produce Spirit filled results.

There are some Positive Aspects of Strategic Planning

1. Faith and Faithfulness - You are able to join God in a grand adventure. When you choose to believe God and not live in fear and doubt you get to see the faithfulness of God as He works for you and does His will through you.

2. Spirit Led Strategies - When you allow God to send the plan and provide the inspiration for the plans you guarantee the Spirit will lead you as you implement the work.

3. Biblical Strategies - Men and women of old gained approval from God as they walked and talked for God by faith. The Biblical way to do God's will is to check in with God, listen to what He says, do what He says, the way that He says!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray Great Prayers, Dream Great Dreams - Plan Great Plans, Do Great Deeds!

On The Go Prayer Focus: Those who need to make decisions for Christ as On The Go and the Keith Cook Team shares the Gospel around the world. Pray that they will hear a clear message about Christ, that the Holy Spirit will move them to a point of decision and that they will be bold enough to publicly respond for Christ.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Vision

Vision by Laurie McTier

"And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. " 2 Kings 6:16,17

When individuals set out to make goals, they have a vision of how the goal will be accomplished. They commit to do whatever it costs, in order to see the desired outcome. There are several reasons for this. I guess the main reason is that we don't want to be embarrassed if things don't go the way we had hoped.

Recently, I set a goal to exercise every morning. I had planned to fulfill this goal by alternating my schedule by walking and by riding my bicycle early in the mornings. This called for some sacrifices on my part so that the goal would be met. I could no longer sleep as late as I wanted, I had to make a conscious effort to get up early so that I could go walking or riding without being late for work.

One morning I rode my bicycle unprepared...I did not have a helmet on or my glasses. I was riding down Memorial Boulevard in Springfield TN when a big truck passed. The truck was going about 45 mph, and as he passed there was a lot of dirt that was stirred up. Some of the dirt lodged in my right eye. As a nurse I could remember two things from all the books that I had read. Never rub your eye to get foreign objects out and protect the affected eye by closing it until you can get to a doctor. I rode for over a mile to my home with one eye open and my hand over the injured eye. By this time my eye was really hurting and I could not open my eye without a lot of pain. My vision was blurred because of the object that was in my eye.

Two hours after the injury, I went to the optometrist who quickly placed dye in my eye and retrieved the "little speck" of dirt that I had not been able to get out on my own. After the optometrist removed the object from my eye, I had a new vision...I could see again. I set out to work on my goals the next morning, but now with some preparation.

How is your vision? Are you setting out today to see the world through your eyes or through God's eyes? On my first mission trip with On The Go to Brazil God impressed me to ask for His vision for the city and for the needs of the students that we would be ministering to on that project. I also began to pray for each of our team members and for the missionaries that each of us would receive God's vision for the lost. Proverbs 29:18 reads,"Where there is no vision, the people perish. "

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God will give you a vision of what you can do to make a difference for the kingdom of God this week.

On The Go Prayer Focus: All the local churches, committees, and leaders who will be working with On The Go Ministries and the Keith Cook Team in creative outreach efforts in the United States and around the world.

Wisdom From Above

Wisdom From Above by Keith Cook

"Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy." James 3:13,17

I do not know very many people that would say they do not want to be wise. The wisdom that we as Christians try to obtain is different than the world's wisdom. You see, the Bible tells us exactly how to be wise! It's hard at times to choose wisdom from above when the world's way is easier.

Wisdom From Above can be Characteristics:

Pure
Peaceable
Gentle
Willing to Yield
Full of Mercy
Full of Good Fruits
Without Partiality
Without Hypocrisy

Folly From Below Yields:

Done from wrong motives
Always warring with others
Harsh
Having to have your own way
Merciless
Fruitless
Judging Others
Being something you're not

Everyday we have a choice to make. We can choose the wisdom from above or the folly from below! Let's choose wisdom!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for God Given Wisdom to Rule in your heart. Pray for wisdom that is pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, merciful, full of fruit, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The 30 Minute Radio & Podcast Program "On The Go with Keith Cook". This is a weekly program airing over the internet, short wave, and radio stations. On Call at All Times

On Call at All Times by Laurie McTier

"So the king and all the people dedicated the temple of God." 2 Chronicles 7:5

God doesn't seek for golden vessels, and does not ask for silver ones; however, He must have clean ones. D. L. Moody

Recently, God reminded me of the importance to know the basics of His Word. It has been a joy to read His Word and to see how God has met specific needs throughout the Old and New Testament.

In 2 Chronicles, we read where King Solomon built and dedicated Temple of the Lord. God gives many specific details of the furnishings for the Temple. As I read in His Word, He showed me the parallel between God's Temple and our body. Our body is to be the Temple of God.

God wants us to love the Lord with all our heart. He requires our full commitment, absolute surrender, and obedience. As we read in His Word, King Solomon went to great lengths to insure that the Temple was clean and dedicated to the Lord. As a Christian we serve as Christ's Ambassador. This is a great responsibility and privilege, which should not be taken lightly.

To be dedicated and surrendered, our lives and hearts must often go through some exterior and interior cleansing. As I spend time with God in His Word and prayer, He often shows me areas of sin that need to be cleansed and removed.

Be open to His Spirit. God has provided the Holy Spirit to convict and reveal areas in our lives that are not pleasing to Him. Be sensitive, and obedient.

Follow His promptings upon your heart. God wants us to always be on call for Him. He can't use empty vessels; He also can't use unclean vessels. Get in the Word and spend time with God each and every day. As you seek Him, ask God to open your eyes, your ears, and your heart that you might truly become a vessel of honor and service to Him.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God will give you a fresh new zeal to read His Word!

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's Outreach Training Schools (OTS). In our OTS, young people and adults are trained to go to the next level in their service to God. Pray for On The Go as we train believers to make a difference in their generation.

Practice God's Presence

Practice God's Presence by Keith Cook Jr.

"Rejoice always! Pray constantly. Give thanks in everything, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus...Stay away from every kind of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely. And may your spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."  1 Thessalonians 5:16-23

I read a book recently titled, "Practicing The Presence of God," by Brother Lawrence. Brother Lawrence was a cook in a monastery three hundred years ago. This cook was able to continually practice the presence of God day and night. No matter what he was doing, he was always in God's presence.

When asked his secret for constantly practicing the presence of God, Brother Lawrence said that everything he did was out of love for the Lord. Regardless of if he was sweeping the floor or talking to a friend, he would always do it out of love for the Father.

I think Brother Lawrence was able to realize, like so many of us can not, that God loves us more than we could ever imagine. For this we truly owe Him our every thought. Brother Lawrence is one of the greatest examples of someone practicing the presence of God that has ever lived.

It helps me to know that it is possible, in a world that seems to be falling farther and farther away from God, to do all that we do out of love for God. His life and example have made a tremendous impact on my life since I read his book. I hope that his example will encourage you to start practicing the presence of God no matter what your circumstances are, or where you may be, or what you may be doing.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that you will practice the presence of God this week. Live above your circumstances.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's USA Outreach Effort. God has placed a United States effort on the heart and mind of the On The Go Team. Three key objectives are sharing, praying, and training in every county in the USA using On The Go Advance Teams, Training Teams, Planning Teams, Prayer Teams, GoTeams, and Outreach Efforts.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

In Troubled Times

In Troubled Times by Joan Cook

When President George W. Bush declared that the United States of America was at war with Iraq in 2002, he stated that the United States will accept no other outcome other than that of Victory. We must take an active role by praying for the president, government officials, our troops, the innocent people in Iraq, and God's will and His glory! Today we encourage you to pause and to meditate on these scriptures.

1) Pray for our Government Officials.

"So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses' hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up-- one on one side, one on the other--so that his hands remained steady till sunset. So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword." Exodus 17:10-13

"For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory." Deuteronomy 20:4

"In you, O LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in your righteousness. Turn your ear to me, come quickly to my rescue; be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me. Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me." Psalms 31:1-3

2) Pray for American troops and their families.

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: 'May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels. For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, 'Peace be within you.'" Psalms 122:6-8

"For your name's sake, O LORD, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble." Psalms 143:11

"Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you." 2 Thessalonians 3:16

3) Pray for innocent civilians.

"Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me." Psalms 138:7

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles." 2 Chronicles 32:7,8

"The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble." Psalms 9:9

4) Pray for God's will and His glory.

"Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help. By this I will know that God is for me." Psalms 56:9

"Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendour, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all." 1 Chronicles 29:11

"Through the victories you gave, his glory is great; you have bestowed on him splendour and majesty." Psalms 21:5

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for the government leaders, our military members and their families, innocent civilians, and God's will. Pray for Upcoming Elections for national, state, and local leaders. Pray for PEACE!

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's Performing Arts Team. Pray for our team as we minister through drama, puppets, interpretive dance, and music. Our Performing Arts Teams are made up of volunteers and On The Go staffers who travel around the USA to local churches and events sharing the Good News.

Being Scared

Being Scared by Keith Cook

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." John 10:27, 28

In America, in the fall season, many people will go to haunted houses and let people jump out at them and try to scare them. We have haunted woods, haunted houses, haunted warehouses and on and on. They are not real. They are fake.

We also have scores of movies and books all written and produced to scare us and shock us with gross and unimaginable horrors.

As a little boy I can remember watching a scary movie and not being able to sleep that night. My mother told me that I should never watch another scary movie again. She was right. I have too vivid of an imagination to let it run wild on evil and horrible things.

In my life I have learned many things about what scares me and what does not. Being alone, in the dark, in a cemetery, or even a church, is way up on my list of places that scare me. Isn't that amazing. I am a grown adult but being in the dark at a church or cemetery still gives me chills.

Why? One is a place of death and one is a place of life, yet the darkness puts them both in the same category to my senses. The absence of light produces fear and unnatural imaginations.

What about you? Are you letting your mind run wild on the wrong things?

You may avoid horror stories but are you letting the Devil interpret your life for you?

You may run from scary movies but are you watching your life unfold from the Devil's projection booth.

Don't listen to him. Don't let him scare you. What he says about you are lies.  He wants to bring you down and defeat you. Don't let him.

Let the light of God's Word bring clarity and peace to your life. Turn the light up and let God shine on all your situations. Do not let anything scare you. Do not let anything keep you from the work of God in your life. Do not be scared away from doing the work God has for you to do.

Resist the Devil and he will flee from you.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for God to use you in this season of high interest in the supernatural. Use every opportunity to speak for Him and promote righteousness! Do not be scared of the Devil. Greater is He that is in you!

On The Go Prayer Focus: The physical, spiritual, emotional, and financial needs of people hurting all over the United States and Worldwide. As God gives us opportunity in times of crisis we need to rapidly move to help.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

I Want To Go There!

I Want To Go There! by Keith Cook

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33

When my son was little we would play a game where we would keep up with all the cars that we passed by trying to see how many different states they were from. We often would have sighted license plates from all over the United States by the time we arrived at some of our locations.

It is easier to see many different licenses when you travel to a heavily populated place like Orlando, Florida, as opposed to traveling across Kansas. Going to see Mickey Mouse always provided many hours of great fun. While driving for hours through wheat fields usually produced snores from the back seat. There were not very many tourists out on the plains until we would get near Wall Drug and Mount Rushmore.

I always loved seeing Wyoming's plates because they had a rodeo rider on them. Joan would always be looking for Mississippi because there is no place like home for her. Keith Jr always was looking for Hawaii and never seemed to find it!

Whenever we would be driving down the road and see a neat looking license plate, Keith Jr. would say, "Dad, I want to go there some time!"  When you are young you want to do everything, go everywhere, be everything.

Let me ask you a question - Where do you want to go in life?

There are many places we all don't want to go:

Loneliville - Jesus said He came to give you life, real life, more abundantly than you have or could ever have without Him. Many people can be lonely and unfulfilled even in the midst of great activity. Jesus is the answer for loneliness.

Painville - We all avoid pain but it usually catches up to everyone eventually. There is the pain of failure, pain of regrets, pain of loss, pain of tragedy and injustice. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit for believers to be a comforter. He is able to comfort even when we do not know what is going on or where to go. Allow the Holy Spirit to be with you in your times of pain.

Fruitlessville - Many Christians know they are secure in Christ but they waste opportunities that God gives them to make a real difference for the Kingdom of Christ. By giving to Christian missions, doing local and international mission projects, being faithful to a local church, growing in the disciplines of the faith, and sharing one's testimony and the good news every believer will have great fruit as a believer and their fruit will remain.

Emptinessville - Living a life as if there was no God leads to an unfulfilled and empty life. Running out of life before allowing God any say in your life is such a waste. The countless amusements in the world and the endless number of television channels will not take the place of plain old-fashioned peace with God. When Jesus allows the Holy Spirit to fill you, you will overflow with joy, peace, happiness, contentment, purpose, power, and faith. What are you waiting for?

Valley of The Shadow - If you have to visit the valley of the shadow of death do not fear, Jesus will be with you.

Some places to consider visiting on your journey through life.

One Way Parkway - When you start your life you are taken care of by your parents. They make every decision for you. But once you reach the age of accountability you begin to make decisions on your own. Your bad actions are held against you. By your actions you are judged, rated, ranked, rewarded, fired, and blessed.

In order to become a Christian and be all God wants you to be you must walk down God's one-way street to the Cross of Jesus. Jesus died on the cross for you and wants you to admit you can not make it without God's help, believe in Jesus as your Savior, and ask Him to rule and direct your every step. Once you get on the right road Jesus actually will direct, steer, and drive your life if you will let Him.

Rightville - Knowing what is right and doing it is a virtue to visit every day in every way. Always allow the Holy Spirit to direct every area of your life.

Restoration City - Keeping a right relation with everyone is a must in life. Run from prejudice, anger, pride, bitterness, and unforgiveness.

Green Pastures - Growing in Christ means you will have a productive and happy life. Just like and animal grows by eating green grass, Christians grow by feeding on God's Word. The Bible should be your main health food. It should be devoured and feasted on if you want to live in Green Pastures.

Eternity Springs - Living forever in Heaven when you die is your final destination. Once you are in Christ your final destination is assured.

As Christians, we must give account of our actions, reactions, words, and how we use the gifts God has blessed us with. Choose today to follow God's path and walk in obedience to His plan.

Daily Prayer: Pray for guidance, direction, and sensitivity as you seek to put God first and choose to follow His plan for your life.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's Neighborhood Outreach Program. In reality, very little is being done to reach people in many communities across the USA. On The Go is striving to train local Christians and help them develop programs that can systematically and permanently reach real needs in their neighborhoods.

"Would This Help?"

"Would This Help?" By Keith Cook

"Instruct those who are rich in this world not to be conceded or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. Instruct them to do good to be rich in good works and to be generous and ready to share. Storing up for them selves treasures of good foundation for the future so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed." I Timothy 6.17-19

Recently my wife and I were praying and asking God to do something for us and we were saying "God if you don't come through for us we are sunk. We don't know what we are going to do."

As we were praying and trusting the Lord, we asked Him to do a miracle in the area of our finances. Miraculously, something happened right in the middle of our prayer. A young man who had only been married a couple of months called us up on the telephone. He had been on mission trips and local outreaches with us in the past. As we talked on the phone, he said, "God has told me...we have been blessed my wife and I and we wanted to do something special for you and your wife." He went on to say "Would this particular amount of money help at this time?" I excitedly said that he would not believe how wonderful that particular amount was and that God had really spoken to him because that was the exact amount that we needed to do what God was calling us to do. We all rejoiced that God would love us all so much to reveal His will to us and also that He would use us to do His will together.

You know there are people that God has blessed and they need to realize that it is important for them to share what they have with other people. We have been blessed to be a blessing. It is so hard to let go of our stuff and let God use it for His work. Tithes, offerings, gifts, and donations are all to be give cheerfully and quickly to the work of God.

Why not today share with someone around you that you know that has got a special need. Be used of God today. I'm not talking about giving to a ministry like On The Go or the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, but to individuals and special needs that God shows you today.

Daily Prayer Focus: Be obedient to God's leading in your giving this week. Ask God who you can bless.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's GoKids Clubs. The focus of GoKids Clubs is to present a clear Gospel message to young children in our festivals, missions, and local neighborhoods. Pray for On The Go as we minister to boys and girls and share with them the love of Jesus Christ.

Escape

Escape by Keith Cook

"And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. " Exodus 33:14

Recently I was talking with author, Ken Abraham, about writing. I was really looking for some good writing tips to improve my communication skills. I was not searching for what I got. Ken made a statement right in the middle of our conversation that hit me like a ton of bricks. He referred to some secular books as "escape reading."

As I pondered that term God started me thinking about my reading habits. That moved quickly to my leisure time habits and then God camped there for a while.

I love to read. I love mystery movies and westerns on television. I sometimes read a book a night. Louis L'Amour, Sherlock Holmes, Roy Rogers, Tom Clancy, Star Trek, all have been used to help me escape.

What am I escaping to? What am I escaping for? Do I need a secular escape? Can non-religious entertainment ever be okay for me?

After I became a Christian God led me to stop most of my secular practices. I was so worldly. After about ten years God said it was alright for me to begin to read secular books and even listen to good secular music. It was hard for me and I always felt guilty, but God wanted me to have a safe escape. My conscience had been under His control long enough for me to know when a book, magazine, movie, or music were off limits.

After a while I was devouring L'Amour westerns. I loved them. I was reading several a week. It was fun and I was having a great time. Then God moved me to chart my reading habits. Most of my reading was now secular and very little was Christian.

God led me to make the following little rule for my life. For every five religious books I read I can read a secular book. This pattern works for me. For every hour I spend watching my NFL Titans football team, I have to spend equal amounts of time in quality time with my family and friends. (That means talking and listening!)

God has shown me I do need to escape. I need to rest my religious mind. I do need to leave work behind for a while. I do need to give up the pressure of being the man of the family with all the answers. But I need to escape with boundaries and these boundaries always must include Him!

What are your escape mechanisms?

How much time do you spend escaping reality?

What could you do to get back in balance?

Is God giving you your healthy pattern or safe parameters for leisure?

Daily Prayer Focus: Thank God for your "escape mechanisms". Ask Him if you have discipline and standards in your times of rest.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The "On The Go Daily" 2 Minute Radio & Podcast Program. This is a daily program airing across the United States, and World via the internet and radio stations. Wisdom is Supreme

Wisdom is Supreme by Laurie McTier

"My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to a man's whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life." Proverbs 4:20-23

True wisdom comes from the very heart of God. Wisdom is keen insight and understanding. Wisdom can also be defined as accumulated knowledge which we acquire through circumstances in our lives. Through life's experiences, we gain knowledge, discernment, maturity, and understanding. We have many examples throughout the Old and New Testament of individuals and families who learned from God as they traveled through life's experiences. They learned how to see God's hand at work in their midst. They learned how to hear His voice and obey His commands. We can also see the price that is paid when we fail to yield to God and give Him complete Lordship.

Supreme wisdom is the level of understanding that is greater than anything we have known before. It is the highest possible level or degree of understanding that we can obtain. As we endure trials and tests in our Christian walk, God will begin to build our character and show us supreme wisdom. We may not see have a burning bush experience, but God can be just as real to us today as He was to Adam and Eve, Moses, David, Elijah, Paul, the Apostle John, Mary and Martha, and so many others.

The source of supreme wisdom is God's Word. God wants us as His Children to spend time in His Word today and everyday. The Bible is a resource of treasures and promises straight from His heart. It is His love letter to us as His Children and it is full of truths, riches, and beauty. God's Word can serve as a light unto your path. He wants His word to serve as a beacon providing us direction and caution of dangers that lie ahead.

In today's scripture passage, God encourages us to listen and pay close attention to His Word. The only way that we can hear from God and know His truths is by spending time with Him. God's word is a treasure; He does not want us to let it out of our sight. Spend time today by diving into the Word of God. Find a jewel of scripture that can be an encouragement to you today. God's word also tells us to

My prayer today is that we will learn from the mistakes of others. I pray that we will not be as the Children of Israel, who though God was at work in their midst everyday, they never saw His hand or heard His footprints. The Children of Israel were too busy seeking personal gain and had to much pride to dwell on the work God was doing in their midst. As Christians in today's society, we must take a stand. Don't just live a mediocre Christian life. Stand up for Christ. Stand up and seek to learn His Word. Spend time with God, seeking His direction and will for your life. To go a step further, the way you can truly find out about God is through spending quality time with Him in prayer and in the Word of God. As we read His Word and meditate on His promises, God will give us life, liberty, and joy.

God Bless you today as personalize His word and find the treasures that He has for you.

Today's Prayer Focus: Ask God to help you spend five minutes everyday memorizing His Word. It will change every aspect of your life.

Trusting In The Lord is Productive

Trusting In The Lord is Productive by Keith Cook

"They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever." Psalm 125:1

When you trust in the Lord you are guaranteed supernatural and divine help. God will be there for you. You can count on it. In His word He gives each believer five wonderful assurances they can count on.

1. When a believer trusts in the Lord they have COURAGE! The word says with God we "cannot" be moved. Having God protecting your back provides courage to fight any battle or courage to move out by faith in an area of risk.

2. Trusting God also produces STABILITY! When God's word says we "cannot be moved" that means we will never, ever come close to being moved from a direction Christ would have us to go. No matter what the stock market does we will have stability if we rely on Christ. No matter who is elected to office we can have stability if we trust in Jesus.

3. SECURITY is also guaranteed when one follows Christ. "The Lord surrounds His people" is not only a great promise but can be a present reality for you. Peace and rest can be yours no matter what you are going through. Security is yours for this life and forever. Once you leave this old earth behind you can be assured you will live forever with Christ in Heaven.

4.  When you trust in the Lord you also have a LEGACY. David said believers would "abide forever" and all who believe in Christ will have a legacy of hope and promise to pass down from generation to generation. A few years ago my wife's mom passed away. Joan was given her Bible. I looked through it right before I was to direct her funeral. I already knew she was a great woman of God but her Bible showed just how deep she had gone with Christ.

All throughout her Bible were scribbled dates God had given her promises out beside passages, underlined passages, sermon outlines from her favorite evangelist (Keith Cook Sr.!) and prayer reminders for those she was praying for. What a great legacy she has left behind for her family.

Her legacy was evident at her funeral. All her grandsons stood one at a time and shared a passage of scripture that reminded them of their grandmother. With tears and with pride they boldly shared each passage. They knew where she was. They also knew what she expected from them. They were to live our the legacy she had left for them. They were to follow Christ as she had followed Christ.

5. One final thought about trusting Christ. The main reward from trusting in the Lord is that it produces an optimistic and enthusiastic sense of PURPOSE in one's life. You can count on "from this time and forever" having God's Holy Spirit directing your life and giving you insight, power, and motivation to do God's perfect will. Your life is not one of chance nor a lottery as to whether or not you will make it and be successful. You are trusting in Jesus and He is trusting in you. The salvation of the lost and the working out of His plan for the future has been given to you to do in His power. Trust Him. Follow Him. Love Him. Live For Him. Produce For Him!

Daily Prayer Focus: Praise God for the opportunity to Trust in the Lord. Pray for a greater sense of Courage, Stability, Security, Legacy, and Purpose in your own life as you seek to serve God.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The GoAudio Podcasts and Radio Ministries. Currently we are producing various programs which go over the internet and international airwaves. No Road, No Problem

No Road, No Problem by Keith Cook

"Let me pass through thy land: I will go along by the high way, I will neither turn unto the right hand nor to the left" Deuteronomy 2:27

David Livingston, pioneer missionary to Africa, was asked by a mission board the following question: "Have you found a good road to where you are in Africa? If so,  we want to know so we can send some good men to join you." He responded, "If you have only men that will come when there is a good road, I do not want them. I want men who will come if there is no road at all."

Many today are ministering with ease because someone paved a trail for them. One of my favorite sayings while on a mission project is, "You guys have it easy! You should have been with David and I when we first came here!" Then I proceed to share with the wide-eyed new evangelists our "war stories" about the good old days when there was no electricity, no pure bottled water, no internet, and no vehicles to transport us into an area.

Many of them can not believe that we actually slept on the ground or ate strange delicacies like dog, snake, worms, bugs, and live fish. They are amazed that we would walk for hours each day to share with one family way out in the jungle somewhere. They are blown away when I share of our close calls of being captured by guerillas and possible torture for sharing Christ in non-Christian areas of our world. Their hearts leap when I share of guns pointed at me while I preach, riots breaking out in Muslim areas as we minister, and gangs poised to kill us until the gang leader comes to Christ and stops them. It is hard for them to imagine how long we had to be away from friends and family.

Usually after one of my famous outbursts of nostalgia Christ will direct me to encourage them that they too have their roads to walk and their paths to chart by faith. It is hard to be too hard on them because they are trusting Christ in a world that does not understand or appreciate what they are doing. Modern religionists are even downplaying their importance in God's work. Humanism has crept into the church and is causing a whole generation of youth and young adults to question the value of going to the ends of the earth.

I am so thankful that there is a willing and mighty remnant of missionaries and evangelists who are blazing their own trails under the direction of the Holy Spirit. I work, network, and partner with many of them everyday. They live by the philosophy, "No Road-No Problem."

How about you?

Daily Prayer: Pray that God will give you Holy Boldness and New Vision as you seek to serve God wholeheartedly.
