THE TWO W's

THE TWO W's  by Matt Kearney

We are created to WORSHIP

News Event: Pucallpa, Peru Festival, Outreach and Medical Events continue thru August 6, 2019. God is opening so many doors for our teams to minister.

"My mouth will praise the LORD. Let all who live praise his holy name forever!" Psalms 145:21

"And there will no longer be any curse, and the throne of God and the Lamb will be in the city. His servants will worship him, and they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. Night will be no more, and they will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, because the Lord God will shine on them, and they will reign forever and ever." Revelation 22:3-5

Our eternal purpose is to worship God now and forever more!

We are here to WITNESS

But the only reason why you're still alive and not in Heaven is because you have a mission here on earth:  to be a WITNESS for the saving love of Jesus Christ! Christ hasn't come back and you're not dead because there's still a Great Commission that needs completing and it is His will that You be apart of it!

There will come a day when the entire family of will have the party of all parties praising and worshipping God...but not yet!

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20

We were created to worship God now and forever. We were born on earth to be His witnesses for the Good News. Love, which is Spirit of God following thru us, is what allows us to do these things! Love God and love others!

On The Go Prayer Focus: All the local churches, committees, and leaders who will be working with On The Go Ministries and the Keith Cook Team in creative outreach efforts in the United States and around the world. Pray for our Medical team in Peru today as they serve at Dios es Luz Church. Pray that many physical and spiritual needs will be met.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Not Over Stuff

Not Over Stuff by Keith Cook Sr.

"Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice!" Philippians 4:4

Recently my wife and I were hit with several financial and personal setbacks in a row. And to make matters worse - right in the middle of severe pain and need - our car, while I was on a mission trip, threw a rod and the motor was completely ruined. The mechanic said the car was essentially totaled.

We were dumbfounded as to what was going on and why God had seemed to abandon us. We were in the work of the Lord, striving to follow the Master but the bottom was falling out from under us.

Right in the middle of our greatest pain God took me to His Word - words that I had stored in my heart - and out from my lips came, "We must rejoice in the Lord always!" The words were a hard pill to swallow. Both Joan and I wanted to scream, snarl, and break something but what came out of my mouth and into our lives was to rejoice and praise our Lord. After a time of prayer, Joan went on her way.

Within a short time I received a phone call from her and she told me that God had shown her that it is His will that we not stress out and worry over Stuff. She said "I am not going to get sad or mad over Stuff."

We have so much, each of us, to praise God for. We have our faith. We have our family. We have our fellow believers and friends.  God has seeded into each of our lives an abundance of treasures and bounty to live off of when things get tough or lean.

You can ponder and be concerned over many things but God does not want us to panic over the troubles of life.  He wants us to see our blessings and rejoice in Him. When we do - we soon will see the deliverance of the Lord and the victory and rewards that come from obeying and following Him.

Daily Prayer Focus: Praise God for His Blessings and choose to Rejoice in Him.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Keith Cook, Joan Cook, the U.S.A. Staff, and On The Go Board of Directors, as they add leadership and direction for the ongoing ministries of the Keith Cook Team and On The Go.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Rain Forest

Rain Forest by Joan Cook

"Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig-tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done.'" Matthew 21:21

News Event Pucallpa, Peru Outreach starts today! Our teams will be ministering throughout various churches in Pucallpa, Peru today! Pray for the team as their share their testimonies and share the Word that God has laid upon their hearts. We are His Hands and His Feet to a nation that needs Christ.

Several years ago on a mission project to Costa Rica, our team had the opportunity to go into the rain forest. We boarded a six person aerial tram that was to take us two miles into the rain forest and then turn and come two miles back out. How excited we all were to see the beautiful plants, flowers, wildlife, and beauty of the rain forest. We even saw Toucans! Our tram climbed to the top of the rain forest so we could have an overview of the beauty!

We had traveled about a mile and a half when it began to storm! It was thundering and lightning so badly we were afraid it would strike the tram. About that time, Kaboom! Our tram came to a stop one hundred feet above the ground! We waited for the rain to subside for our tram to begin again, but when the rain ended, our tram remained still! For three hours we were stuck waiting for the problem to be fixed.

Our tour guide informed us that help was on the way, but we would have to rappel out of the cable car one hundred feet to the ground! My son, who was 21 at the time, threw his hands in the air, and said with excitement, "I can't believe I'm in the rain forest in Costa Rica, stuck in a cable car, 100 feet up in the air and I get to rappel"! At the same time, the response of a 40 year old woman (myself), was, "I can't believe I'm in the rain forest in Costa Rica, stuck in a cable car, 100 feet up in the air and I have to rappel!" Needless to say, we all made it to the ground and out of the rain forest safely!

Isn't that just like our response to God sometimes? "God, you've brought me this far and I know you're taking care of me, but you want me to do what? You want me to just jump out of my comfort zone and let you do the rest? God, do you know how hard, how scary, how uncomfortable that is for me?" God would rather us have the attitude my son had of excitement and anticipation of what He wants to do in and through us!

The Lord knows what our potential is in Him and He also knows our limitations! God is telling us to break out of our comfort zone and step out in faith knowing He will be there to catch us! Take that first leap of faith; He'll do the rest!

Daily Prayer Focus: Lord, thank you that you are always there for me when it is time to step out of my comfort zone.

On The Go Prayer Focus: An army of missionaries, evangelists, ministers, musicians, medical personnel, and performing artists will invade Peru with a mission to show the love of Christ to the entire nation. May God give us HIs Word to share with children, young people, and adults that we have the opportunity to minister to.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Am I Going To Please God or Man

Am I Going To Please God or Man by Carey Smith

"O the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him. Then these men said, 'We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.'" Daniel 6:4-5

Do you wonder how others see you? Are you afraid they judge you as unwise or inconsiderate? Do you make every effort in the world to make people like you? Many of us are so concerned about what other people think, especially when it involves what they think about us.

God is concerned with how others view you. There is a specific thing God wants others to see when they look at you. In 1 Peter 3:15-16, it says, "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander."

Do you see the key words in here? They are "In Christ."

God wants others to see the glory of His Son in us. When the administrators tried to find something against Daniel, they could find nothing. Even they admitted the only thing they could do was order a law that would make Daniel choose between God and man, and they knew Daniel would choose God. But just as in Daniel's case, it is guaranteed that if you live your life as God desires, some will not like you, in fact, they will hate you.

So when we concern ourselves about how others see us, we need to ask ourselves, am I going to please God or man?

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that you will maintain your focus as a Christian. Pray that your primary concern today will be to please and honor God in all that you say and do.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Keith and Joan Cook as they direct our Peru GoTeam that will be ministering this week in Pucallpa, Peru. Pray for the team as they travel Saturday and Sunday!

The Next Step!

The Next Step! - By Keith Cook

"Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given us let each exercise them accordingly." Romans 12:6

News Event: Peru Festival, Outreach and Medical Teams will be ministering in Pucallpa, Peru July 26-August 6, 2019. Many churches are partnering together with On The Go to reach their community for Christ. Pray for Divine Appointments as the Gospel is shared thru drama, arts, sports, children's ministry, medical teams, leadership training, music, and the preaching of God's Word.

Have you ever been on a mission project for God or been a part of a unique outreach event? Do you remember the, "What do I do now?" feeling, after the event was over?

I want to ask you to think about what God may be calling you to do long term as a result of your past mission projects or similar services for God.

What has God shown you about yourself as you have ministered?

What has God shown you about your ministry skills and calling?

Where is God leading you to minister next?

Let me offer a few suggestions.

1. God wants you to minister to your family by sharing with them all that you can remember about your ministry experiences. Begin to think of stories and fun things that God did or people you met that impressed you. You can also minister to them by showing them your life and example of how much God has focused you and how He has worked in your life.

2. God wants you to minister to your home church. You owe it to your friends and fellow Christians back home to come back fired up and full of new ideas and commitment for the work of God. Help start a fire in your local church. At least two people should catch your fire and pass on your legacy of service for God.

3. God wants you to minister for life. Once you have caught the mission and evangelism bug you can never be cured. You will always know that your life can make a difference if you are "on the go!"

As you go out for God remember these three things and God will take you to the next step for you in Christian service.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God would tell you where to go and minister next. Plan early. Start saving now. So many people never get to go for God because they plan too late.

On The Go Prayer Focus: All the Ministry Partners, Missions, Missionaries that On The Go ministers with. It takes team work to make the dream of reaching the world a reality. Over the next few days members of our Peru Outreach team will be flying into Lima and Pucallpa, Peru. Pray with us for safe travels, rest, on time connections, supplies through customs, and the health of each team member.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Compassion

Compassion - by Laurie McTier

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord." Luke 4:18, 19

Compassion allows us to identify with our brothers and sisters. We learn to suffer when they suffer and rejoice when they rejoice. Christ related to their suffering as He sensed their heart cries.

In a message using the illustration of the friends of the paralytic man in the New Testament, C. H. Spurgeon writes: "We can not be of any use, we wish we could preach." Those men could not preach! They did not need to preach. They lowered the paralytic man and their work was done. They could not preach, but they could hold a rope."

In the Christian church we want not only preachers, but soul winners who can bear souls and feel the solemn burden, men who maybe cannot talk, but who can weep; men who do not break men's hearts with their language, but who can break their own hearts with their compassion."

True mission work is rooted in whole-hearted heart service for our God.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God will give you His vision, His heart, and His compassion so that you can utilize your spiritual gifts effectively for His Kingdom.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The Finances of Team as they boldly go out for Jesus Christ. Pray that all their needs will be met at home and for the projects they are working on.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day! by Joan and Keith Cook

"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."  1 Timothy 2:1, 2

July 4th is a wonderful holiday here in the United States! Independence and freedom are something we, as Americans, often times take for granted. It is hard for us to imagine living in a country where we are not free to express our own views, worship as we please, go to the store and find anything we could possible want, sleep in a home that is heated and cooled at our whim, get in your car and drive where we please, or any other number of things we so easily take for granted.

As Americans, we have a responsibility to pray for the leaders of our country:

Pray for President Trump
Pray for Vice-president Pence
Pray for your Senators and Congressmen
Pray for all those who are in a leadership position in our nation
Pray for all the countries of the world and their leaders

If you travel around the world, as we do at On The Go, it does not take you long before you realize there is truly "no place like home". We have had the privilege to visit over 40 countries in our travels. While those countries and the people were so beautiful, hospitable, and proud of their own homeland, the United States is the place that Joan and I hold dear.

Lord Jesus, continue to stretch out your hand of blessing, love, and protection on this great Nation. Help this country never forget that it is only through You that our blessings come! I pray that we will continue to take those blessings and share them with others around the world. May we never forget that Jesus is the greatest blessing of them all!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for our troops as they are continuing to fight for our freedom. Pray against terrorism and that God would stop any evil plans that evil men have to hurt individuals world-wide.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's GoCare ministry. This is our acts of kindness and benevolence ministry department. The focus of our GoCare ministry is to reach out to physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of hurting individuals and to build bridges between churches and their communities.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Confidence

Confidence by Laurie McTier

"For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou are my trust from my youth." Psalms 71:5

When I think of a confident individual, I think of one who is assured, willing to stand up, determined to defend and possess a great conviction.

God has called each of us as believers to let our light shine before men that they will see His Spirit at work in our lives. He has called us to fulfill the Great Commission.

When I look at today's scripture, I am reminded that God is our Hope and our Confidence. Our calling and ministry today comes from the Lord. Whatever your hands find to do, do it and serve Him wholeheartedly.

As you serve today, go out in confidence. God has gone out before you. He will guide you and give you the words to share. He has called you and equipped you for all that you will do today.

Go forward in Confidence!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for our country on the eve of the Fourth of July Holiday. Pray for our law enforcement agencies and our military families. Stand against terrorism. Pray for peace!

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go Ministry Supporters. It takes teamwork to make the dream work! Our ministry supporters have made commitments to play a vital part of our team through praying, sharing, caring, going, and growing. Pray for Keith and Joan and the team as they fly back from Cuba today.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Finish Well!

Finish Well! by Keith Cook

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord... will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7, 8

A few years ago I met with one of Billy Graham's associates and I asked him what his goal was for the next few years of ministry. At that time, he said his number one goal was to help Dr. Graham finish well. Today Dr. Billy Graham is in Heaven with His Lord and Savior.

He then went on to say that most great leaders and ministers often lose focus and get off track at the end of a project or even at the end of their life. God wants all of us to finish well.

David, in the Bible, lost his focus once and stayed back from his job, allowing someone else to go off and fight for him. The Bible says that when it was time for kings to go out for war David was home looking and lusting at another man's wife. He should have been out finishing his work that God had given him, not home making excuses why he was not needed and letting his wandering eyes and lustful passions control his life.

Commit today to finish all you are doing for God well. Don't slack up or let others do your job. Make a mark and keep on making a difference.

Press on to the prize, finish well!

1. Have you lost your focus at any time while serving God?

2. What else could God be calling you to do to help others?

3. Who have you let do your job or made suffer because of your lack of focus?

4. Ask for forgiveness and thank those you regularly minister with for bearing with you and helping you be all God wants you to be!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray today for your God given and God called ministry. Resubmit your life to God's direction!

On The Go Prayer Focus: Cuba Festival/Outreach Team. The team will be leading an Area-Wide Evangelism Conference with local pastors and church leaders today. Pray that God will continue to raise up godly men and women to reach their nation for Christ.

Victory and Valuable Truths

Victory and Valuable Truths by Keith Cook

Recently, I was sitting on an airplane contemplating one of my hero's who had just passed away, Pat Summitt.  She had died after a five year battle with dementia and Alzheimer's disease.  Pat was a legendary basketball coach from my home state of Tennessee.  She actually won more basketball games, coaching the women's team at the University of Tennessee, than any coach in history.  She was an amazing lady!  She died at the age of 64.

As I was reading about her end of life struggles and how quickly the disease struck her career and family in such a drastic way, I started asking myself what lesson was there for me in all this.  She was only 5 years older than me.  She was not planning on this taking her away from the ones she loved and she had little time to prepare her family and friends for what was happening in her life.

My mind quickly jumped to more negative and alarming thoughts... "What is something like this happens to me? I forgot someone's name the other day. Perhaps that's a sign of mending doom for my mental state.  Maybe I should retire early and relax and just have fun with my family and friends while I can enjoy them, remember them, and not be a burden.

Within in minutes, I was in the middle of a full scale mental and spiritual battle.  Fighting a war within the grips of a panic attack with fear and worry was not the way to obtain victory.  My emotional weapons were letting me know.  My very real and ever present human nature was ganging up on me as well.  I was quickly loosing this fight.

But, in the middle of any crisis, I know some valuable truths that I have learned by trial and error - the Word of God, life long lessons, and Godly mentors.
1.  The devil does not fight fair
2. Our mind does not always recall or see the whole picture all at one time
3. Every impression we have is not always right.
4. Nothing is as fearful as the unknown
5. God always has something that will help me If I will ask, seek, listen.

With that in mind, here are some action items that relate to those five crisis truths:
1. Quickly choose not to listen to what the devil is yelling!
2. Focus, relax, and search out as much information as you can so you can see more of the whole issue that you are addressing.
3. Never react to bad news or crisis situations with dramatic actions.  It is always wise to only ACT on what you know is right, true, prudent, and sure.  Stability is what is needed, not unstable, unthought out reactions.
4. Go to mentors, family, and friends to get help.  Share, relax, reflect, and slow down.  Over the course of time, stability will come.
5. Take the time to go to God in prayer and let Him speak to you.  He usually speaks through the Bible.  Once He speaks to your heart, His directives will be clear and right on point.

When God gives directions, they will always be consistent with His character and Word!  He will never lead you to harm yourself or others by your actions.  His word can stand the test of time and should be able to be confirmed by other Christian leaders as being true.  Any word from God will produce peace and relief for you and you will know in your heart and mind that it is true and will come to pass.

In closing, I want to share what happened to me within seconds of my initial crisis moment described above.

I was so overwhelmed that all I could do was pray.  Actually, I prayed a simple prayer, "Oh God, help me". And I'm not joking, but the next thing I knew, I was waking up from a nap.  I believe the Holy Spirit helped me REST in order to get to the place where I was RELAXED enough to think clearly.   As I was awakening, a flight attendant asked me if I would like a Coke and I did!  While I was sipping on my soda, I opened my IPhone and went to a devotional reading that I often read that simply gives me a focus passage for the day. This is what I read.....

"For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your works are wonderful, I know that full well."  Psalms 139:13-14 NIV

Even as I write these words, I have to clear my eyes from the tears that still are coming out of my eyes and soul.  What a great and loving God! What a gracious and kind savior!  God wanted me to know that He made me! He knows my DNA!  He can handle my future.  So can my family and friends and so can I!

It's not time to pull out the rocking chair.  It's time to hit the road (and sky) one more time for Jesus sake!

Personal Prayer Focus: Praise God that there is True Victory in Jesus Christ. Praise Him for Godly Truths, Prayer, and Inspiration He has given you in your Christian Walk. Praise Him for Friends, Mentors, and Family Members that God has placed in your life.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Keith and Joan Cook and the team today as they minister in Cuba. Pray for Joan as she will be hosting a Women's Conference and sharing from her heart with many women who have been ministered to this week at the Festival. Pray for wisdom and discernment as Joan shares the Gospel and that many women will be encouraged and challenged in their walk with God.
