The Mighty Men

The Mighty Men by Joan Cook

"These be the names of the mighty men whom David had:" 2 Samuel 23:8

Several years ago, I underwent a surgical procedure. I had a lot of time to rest and meditate.  The Lord led me to read 2 Samuel and 1 and 2 Kings. Here are some thoughts I'd like to share with you.

I began reading about King David and his mighty men. David established good council in those around him and he placed strong men in leadership positions of his household, army, and his kingdom. These men who would go to battle and destroy David's enemies, against all odds, were called "mighty men". They were valiant warriors who fought for good! These warriors killed lions with their bare hands, destroyed 800 men at one time, fought off entire armies by themselves. (Of course, they hand the hand of God behind them.)

In looking at these mighty men, I have realized just how important it is for us as Christians to be mighty men of God. Sometimes it is hard to stand and be mighty when we feel feeble and weary. But we have to remember that we have all the power we need behind us. God has provided the resources and the armor as we go into battle, and the plan we need to implement. All we have to do is be obedient. The Lord has called us all, as Christians, to be mighty men and women of God. Don't let the enemy fool you into thinking you are a weak, unimportant part of the body of Christ. With Christ behind, beside, and in front of us, we can become valiant, mighty warriors.

Just as the mighty men of David trained their bodies for battle, so must we train ourselves today! We cannot click our heels and snap our fingers and instantly become strong. There are things we have to do:

1) Read your Bible - to grow in Christ, we have to learn of Him and His ways.

2) Pray - spend time talking to the Lord and listening to Him as He talks to you.

3) Study the word - Get a commentary and begin to study the scriptures

4) Go to Church - Surround yourself with strong Christians who will encourage you

5) Share Jesus with others - begin to share what Christ has done and is doing in your life with those who come in contact with.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray and ask God to help you become a mighty warrior for Him. If you do your part, He has promised to do His!

On The Go Prayer Focus: The 30 Minute Radio & Podcast Program "On The Go with Keith Cook". This is a weekly program airing over the internet, short wave, and radio stations. Is God Directing You To Do More

Is God Directing You To Do More by Keith Cook and Laurie McTier

Is God calling you to do more for the kingdom of God? You have been blessed by your local church. You have been taught the Word of God with power by wonderful teachers. You have been inspired by tremendous testimonies, yet you consistently sit by and miss blessing after blessing by not getting involved with ministry that matters.

Here at On The Go, we are currently receiving applications for our upcoming GoTeam Projects. We have many openings for young people and adults who want to make an impact in another individual's life by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There are ministries all around the globe who have needs for individuals who can take up the cause of Christ also.

God wants each of us to carry out the Great Commission. Projects throughout the United States, Kenya, Uganda, Burkino Faso, Nigeria, Belize, Zambia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Amsterdam, and India all need Spirit filled and God sent volunteers.

While our schedule is updated each week with exciting and new opportunities for service yours can be too. God wants you to get in a proactive mode and adopt a ministry mindset.

We would like to invite you to consider being a part of one of our GoTeam Projects. You may think, "I'm only one person, what difference can I make in someone's life?" Each team member plays a vital and necessary role. Each year God strategically places young people and adults who want to be used by God to share the love of Christ and lead others to a personal relationship with Him.

As we minister it is our goal to be a blessing, but truly we are blessed even more as we see the hand of God working in the lives and hearts of people around the world.

It has been a great joy in our lives to watch as the Gospel is shared through drama, song, puppets, and preaching the Word of God. As we scan the crowd, it is amazing to see the expressions on the faces of individuals as they realize that Jesus died for them, He loves them, and wants to be a part of their lives.

One young man in Africa ran through the market and stopped traffic, just so he could talk with our team. His words still ring loud and clear. "Today when I came to the market, I was lonely, hopeless, and very discouraged. As I stopped to listen to your drama and message, I became convicted that Jesus is the only way. Now, I have hope and a future. I know the love of Jesus, and today I am going home to my family and friends and I am going to tell all of them about the love of Christ and how He can change their life."

Now is a great time to decide to be On The Go for Jesus. With the holidays coming soon you will have ample time to share your desire and solicit prayer and support from friends and family. If you start now it will be easier to finance and get time off to go.

For more information on how you can be involved on one of our GoTeam Projects, call On The Go Ministries at 615-299-0222, visit our website at www.onthego.org,  or email us at info@onthego.org . We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Daily Payer Focus: Pray for workers to go out and work for Jesus on our short term GoTeam Projects. We still need hundreds of volunteers. Some are needed for one day events and some for several days.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's Outreach Training Schools (OTS). In our OTS, young people and adults are trained to go to the next level in their service to God. Pray for On The Go as we train believers to make a difference in their generation.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Ten More Days

Ten More Days by Keith Cook

"I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart." Psalms 40:8

There are ten more days till Christmas. Only ten more days to shop for that perfect gift for those you love. With so much time there are many who will still wait till the last minute to get their gifts.

Some of the reasons people wait till the last minute to get that special gift:

1. They are afraid if they get a gift early they will see a more perfect gift later and will not be able to get it.

2. They do not have any idea what to get and keep hoping that they will see the perfect gift before they simply get an adequate gift that is not really what the person would want.

3. They cannot afford the gift they really want to get so they put off shopping until the last minute hoping to find a way to get it.

4. The present they want to get is not available. They are sold out. In demand. Hard to find. They are hoping to find it somewhere.

5. They are too busy to go out shopping. They will get something soon.

6. They are not into getting gifts for others and will simply get what is available at the last minute if they decide to get someone something or if someone gets them something.

7. They keep putting it off till later because other things keep getting in the way. They have good intentions but the time keeps getting away from them.

In many ways there are many who put off looking into their spiritual lives the same way many avoid Christmas shopping.

1. They are afraid of giving in to God's will for their lives because there is so much time to do what God wants them to do. They want to live a little first. Then they will do it.

2. They are fearful that what they are thinking God is leading them to do is not what He really wants for them.

3. They think what God is asking them to do they cannot afford to do. It will cost them too much.

4. They keep looking for God's will but cannot understand what He is asking them to do. They simply miss Him because they want to understand the end result before they go on the journey of faith.

5. They are too busy with their own plans and dreams. They neglect Jesus and His call on their lives.

6. They do not think that God speaks to people today. They simply must do their best, be good, and not get caught doing anything bad. They will do something if they have to, but not now.

7. Many people want to follow Christ but they keep putting it off. They want to do His will but they are so busy and their lives are so cluttered they keep missing Him.

There are only ten days left till Christmas. Go shopping now and avoid the rush. Give in to having fun this Christmas.

The call of God and the perfect plan He has for your life is for an appointed time. Take that time. Do not put off following Christ. Do not neglect His will. It will be a great present to present to your Lord. Give Him the real gift He wants this Christmas, you doing His will!

Daily Prayer Focus: Courage to do God's will.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Those who need to make decisions for Christ as On The Go and the Keith Cook Team shares the Gospel around the world. Pray that they will hear a clear message about Christ, that the Holy Spirit will move them to a point of decision and that they will be bold enough to publicly respond for Christ.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Christmas Times A Comin'

Christmas Times A Comin' by Keith Cook

"For the grave cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee..." Isaiah 38:18

The holidays are a time of joy for many and dread for some. Some people actually dislike holidays because they remind them of failures and problems in their lives. Because of having to connect with in-laws and family for holidays there is great pressure on husbands and wives. There are explosions of divorce, separations, remarriages, and added pressure on the children in today's society. When you add the occasional tragedies that hit us all, as well as unreal gift expectations, the holidays can be very traumatic to many households.

What can we do as Christians to help?

1. Pray for wisdom for your own plans and activities.

2. Pray for others who are going through problems or have been hit with hard times during the past few years.

3. Watch for danger signs in individual's lives. Things like sad expressions, depression, crying, worry, frantic behavior, avoiding responsibilities, excessive spending, moodiness, and anger.

4. Be available to visit, talk, share, go out with, or even just shop with those in need.

5. Take time to take care of your shopping, travel plans, family arrangements, and needs as early as possible so you can be available to relax and have fun during the holidays.

With these five things in mind you can be well prepared to celebrate because, "Christmas Times A Comin'!"

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for those going through tough times. Ask God to give you insight to make the holidays fun and rewarding for all.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Keith Cook's Hands-On-Training Events. This is our Outreach Training School on the road. Keith and the On The Go Team share all across the USA and Worldwide in fun and creative ways that people can serve Jesus and make an impact in this generation!

Join In

 Join In by Keith Cook

"He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock." Luke 6:48

In a report released by the National Study of Youth and Religion it was determined that Youth Group Involvement Develops Higher Self-esteem.

In the study they found that regular religious service attendance, the importance of faith and years spent in religious youth groups are clearly associated with high self-esteem and positive self-attitudes.

U.S. High school seniors who participated in youth groups for any number of years are significantly more likely to:

1. Feel good to be alive

2. Enjoy school

Those who do not attend religious services are more likely to not feel good to be alive and not to enjoy school.

12th graders who participated for at least six years in Christian youth groups are more likely to have:

1. Positive attitudes toward themselves

2. Feel that they have something to be proud of in life

Those who had never participated in youth groups usually have negative attitudes about themselves and do not have many areas of their lives to be proud of.

Most young people feel lost, lonely, and alone at school. Most schools are so big and seem unfriendly.

Retreats, Sunday School, Parties with Christian teens, Trips to fun places with Christian peers, and Youth Mission Projects all help youth build a sense of community.

Encourage your teens, or if you are a teen, get involved with your local youth group. If they or you join in now it will help now and in the future.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for teens all around your neighborhood that they can connect with other Christian youth and have a place to grow and express themselves.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go Publications & Media Team. We are striving to saturate and minister to a contemporary culture and society through modern media. This division includes our audio, video, internet, and written materials. Through these various ministries we reach out, train, and inspire Christians to action.

Have A Full Heart part 4 of 4

Have A Full Heart part 4 of 4 by Keith Cook

Here are some final thoughts on "Helps for Following Christ."

"The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe." John 1:7

You can grow as a Christian by doing the following things on a regular basis! While these four expressions of a full heart are vital they are not all God has for you to do. But they are a great foundation.

We have looked at the first three expression of a Full Heart: Prayer, Bible Study, and Fellowship. Today let us examine the final, Sharing Your Faith.

4. Sharing Your Faith - This is simply telling others what Jesus has done for you!

Sharing one's faith requires:

a. Trusting the Holy Spirit for Boldness.

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8

b. Being ready and prepared to share.

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:" 1 Peter 3:15

c. Looking for God-given opportunities.

"And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Matthew 4:19

d. Living a life that is consistent with the message you're sharing.

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:1,2

The good news is what Jesus has done for you and what He wants to do for the one you are sharing with. Share your faith in Christ so others can come to know Him.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for an opportunity to share your faith with someone today. Let the Holy Spirit guide you.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's Neighborhood Outreach Program. In reality, very little is being done to reach people in many communities across the USA. On The Go is striving to train local Christians and help them develop programs that can systematically and permanently reach real needs in their neighborhoods.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Have A Full Heart part 3 of 4

Have A Full Heart part 3 of 4 by Keith Cook

Here are some "Helps for Following Christ".

"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:25

This week we have been studying How to Have A Full Heart. You can grow as a Christian by doing the following things on a regular basis! While these four expressions of a Full Heart are vital they are not all God has for you to do. But they are a great foundation.

We have looked at the first two expressions of a full heart, Prayer and Bible Study. Today let us examine the third, Fellowship.

3. Fellowship at a Local Church - When you become a Christian you also become a part of the "Body of Christ," which is called "the Church".

Faithfulness to a local church helps you:

a. Develop your spiritual gifts.

"For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness." Romans 13:4-8

b. Worship and Praise the Lord.

"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." John 4:24

c. Learn what the Bible really teaches.

"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love." Ephesians 4:11-16

d. Be encouraged and helped by other believers.

"And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:24,25

Deciding to be faithful to a local church takes real commitment. In today's world of instant everything and "What is in it for me" philosophy, it is hard to see a church as an institution that actually needs you. But the local church does need you.

Do not neglect being with God's people on a regular basis. Many people get in trouble in life because they have no authorities in their lives and they have do not have a system of checks and balances. A local church, pastor, or prayer partner can help you make a real impact with your life and help you stay the course in representing Christ to the nations.

Yes there are many hypocrites at many churches but there are also many saints, Godly people who love God and are trying to follow His leading. Forgive those who have wronged you and go back to church. God will bless you as you bless Him in praise, worship, giving, sharing, and in growing at a local church.

Tomorrow we will look at the final area of a full heart, Sharing Your Faith!

Daily Prayer Focus: Take time to fellowship with another believer in Christ today. Take a few extra minutes to talk with, pray with, or study with another Christian. Why not call and encourage a Christian minister today. Let them know how much they mean to you, and pray for them specifically.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's GoKids Clubs. The focus of GoKids Clubs is to present a clear Gospel message to young children in our festivals, missions, and local neighborhoods. Pray for On The Go as we minister to boys and girls and share with them the love of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Have A Full Heart part 2 of 4

Have A Full Heart part 2 of 4 by Keith Cook

Here are some Helps for Following Christ

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15

You can grow as a Christian by doing the following things on a regular basis! While these four expressions of a Full Heart are vital they are not all God has for you to do. But they are a great foundation.

Yesterday we looked at the first expression of a full heart, Prayer. Today let us examine the second, Bible Study.

2. Bible Study - There are many ways study the word of God.

Some have daily devotions, where they take a few minutes each day to look at a passage from the Bible and be inspired by it. They often read a comment or insight from a famous or scholarly Christian that reflects the meaning of the passage. You are reading one of On The Go's daily devotions today. These devotions are not designed to take the place of real Bible Study.

Many people study the Bible by going to Bible Study classes. Some of these are at church and many others are in homes or fun settings. There are men's study groups, women's, youth, athletes, businessmen, and on and on. I used to hold Bible studies for Rodeo Cowboys. It was so much fun. They even talked me into having a Christian Rodeo. Only problem was we could not find a Christian bull! Bible study groups help you stay focused and keep you involved for a longer period of time because there is accountability.

In my opinion, the best way to study the Bible is to get a good study Bible and set aside a time when you can spend 30 minutes to an hour to just read and reflect on what you are reading. This is so important. I suggest you track your reading with a simple notebook where you keep up with the date, passages read, personal observations and notes. Keep your reading plan simple but dig deep as you actually study. Do not be afraid of asking questions to pastors and Bible teachers that are based on what you are reading and studying. A good Bible commentary is also helpful BUT never read the commentary first. Always let God speak to you first. Let Him direct you to what He is saying to you before you see what He has said to others.

Studying the Word of God provides:

a. Wisdom to live the Christian life. (James 1:5)

b. A standard that is solid and secure. (Isaiah 40:8)

Let me encourage you to study God's word. It will give you wisdom beyond your normal capacity. You will gain insights you cannot find anywhere else.

Tomorrow we will look at the next area of a full heart, Fellowship!

Daily Prayer Focus: Take time to read your Bible today. Take a few extra minutes to dig deep into the word of God. Pray that God will give you divine insights into His Word.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The "On The Go Daily" 2 Minute Radio & Podcast Program. This is a daily program airing across the United States, and World via the internet and radio stations. "On The Go Daily" is used to encourage, challenge, and motivate Christians in their daily walk. Pray for Keith, Joan, the On The Go Staff, and special guests as they share on these 2 minute broadcasts. You can hear these programs via our website if it is not available in your area.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Have A Full Heart part 1 of 4

Have A Full Heart part 1 of 4 by Keith Cook

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16

Here are some "Helps for Following Christ"

You can grow as a Christian by doing the following things on a regular basis! While these four expressions of a Full Heart are vital they are not all God has for you to do but they are a great foundation.

Today let's look at the first expression of a full heart.

1. It is prayer - Prayer is simply talking to God.

In prayer you can tell God all your dreams, fears, hopes, and situations. He is eager and willing to listen. He already knows all you have faced and all that will come. He can handle your conversation. It will not be a surprise to Him.

In prayer you:

a. Confess your sins. Name them one by one. Get clean. Confess them. Get them out of your life.

b. Ask His blessings. Do not be ashamed to tell Him your heart's desire.

c. Praise Him and thank Him for His goodness. He is worthy of our praise. Talk with Him about how much you love Him and thank Him for all He does for you and mankind.

Tomorrow we will look at the next area of a full heart, Bible Study!

Daily Prayer Focus: Talk to God in prayer today. Take a few extra minutes and confess, ask, and praise Him.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go's "Adopt An Evangelist" program. This program provides funding and support for various missions and evangelists around the world.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for this important division of On The Go Ministries. For more information on any our ministries here at On The Go, you may send your questions to info@onthego.org.

Practice God's Presence

Practice God's Presence by Keith Cook Jr.

"Rejoice always! Pray constantly. Give thanks in everything, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus...Stay away from every kind of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely. And may your spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."  1 Thessalonians 5:16-23

I read a book recently titled, "Practicing The Presence of God," by Brother Lawrence. Brother Lawrence was a cook in a monastery three hundred years ago. This cook was able to continually practice the presence of God day and night. No matter what he was doing, he was always in God's presence.

When asked his secret for constantly practicing the presence of God, Brother Lawrence said that everything he did was out of love for the Lord. Regardless of if he was sweeping the floor or talking to a friend, he would always do it out of love for the Father.

I think Brother Lawrence was able to realize, like so many of us can not, that God loves us more than we could ever imagine. For this we truly owe Him our every thought. Brother Lawrence is one of the greatest examples of someone practicing the presence of God that has ever lived.

It helps me to know that it is possible, in a world that seems to be falling farther and farther away from God, to do all that we do out of love for God. His life and example have made a tremendous impact on my life since I read his book. I hope that his example will encourage you to start practicing the presence of God no matter what your circumstances are, or where you may be, or what you may be doing.

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that you will practice the presence of God this week. Live above your circumstances.

On The Go Prayer Focus: On The Go Ministry Supporters. It takes teamwork to make the dream work! Our ministry supporters have made commitments to play a vital part of our team through praying, sharing, caring, going, and growing.

Is There A Pounding On The Door

Is There A Pounding On The Door by Keith Cook Sr.

"Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law." Romans 3:28

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" Romans  5:1

October 31 is traditionally seen as Reformation Day all across the Christian world. This day is a day to remember what Martin Luther did long ago to stir the church to re-examine the real nature of faith and the real place of the church in the lives of believers.

You might say that the organized church, the church visible, was "born again" that day.

One of the reasons the church had to be reborn was brought to the attention of Luther ironically due to the building of a church that was being built to honor Peter. The very man  who's statement that Christ was truly the Son of God would lead to the building of His real church, the church invisible, and that this - spiritual - universal - eternal - church would never be defeated.

"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."  Matthew 16:18

Back in 1517 the church had lost its way. To raise funds for completing St. Peter's Basilica in Rome many clergy told their congregants that in order to have their sins forgiven, and those of their relatives, they had to give money to the church. When the people gave  they would receive written "pardons" or writs of indulgences that basically said they were now forgiven of their sins and would go to Heaven when they died.

As the world tried to slip deceptively into the church through the side door - God was getting ready to do something at the front door.

Luther was a professor at the University of Wittenberg, Germany and began to actually read the Bible. He was fascinated by the New Testament. His studies and attention was often drawn to the Book of Romans. As the Spirit was being quenched on the altar of expedience by the religious leaders of the day, God was moving in Luther's heart.

On October 31, 1517 Martin Luther posted a ninety-five point theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg. This posting was actually a declaration of his intent to debate the theological merits of indulgences. Luther had been led by the Holy Spirit in his study, in his heart, and during his worship and prayer that man was justified by faith alone, and that every man was a priest before God. This theological insight of justification by faith and the priesthood of all believers, while foreign to the thoughts of the day, were actually the foundational truth of the New Testament.  He knew that the church was not following the Bible and that it needed to be reformed to what God intended it to be.

His pounding on the door of that church resulted in more than he bargained for. He only wanted to warn the church, and clean up their theology. He did not know that God was going to plant the seeds in him and move him to do the deeds that would result in a massive refocusing of the church back to the Word of God. He used Martin Luther to teach and champion theology and practice that was based on that word and not the traditions of man or the church.

Many of the great reforms that came out of the Reformation are the very same doctrines and practices that the Christian church needs to be reminded of afresh and anew today.  There needs to be a great pounding on the doors of our modern church that causes all to awaken from slumber and re-emerge as a movement, a people, a church, that is alive and moving under the direction of the Holy Spirit to the glory of God and for the purposes of Christ.

There are 5 Latin phrases that make up what is called the "Solas". These five Solas were the rallying cry of the reformers. They put up with scorn, ridicule, torture, massive peer pressure, economic hardships, rejection, excommunication, and many gave their lives to bring the church back to a true Biblical foundation.(https://www.christianity.com/church/church-history/the-five-solas-of-the-protestant-reformation.html)

The Solas -  "By Scripture alone (only), by grace alone (only), by Christ alone (only), by faith alone (only), and to God be the glory alone (only)!"

1. Sola scriptura "by Scripture alone"

Like during the reformation days of Luther you too are to live by Scripture alone. There is no other authority, book, or teaching that should direct your lives other than the Word of God.

2. Sola fide "by faith alone"

You are made right (justified) by faith alone. While faith in good works, these works do not make you right with God. Baptism, communion, membership, the church, priests, no external or internal force or factor brings about salvation.

3. Sola gratia  "by grace alone"

It is by God's grace alone that you can be saved. It is "unmerited favor" with God by way of Jesus shed blood on Calvary that brings about your eternal security. It is God's gift to you, that is not earned by works or precepts.

4. Solo Christo "through Christ alone"

Jesus is the only mediator you need between you and God. Priests, saints, angels, ministers, teachers, may all be important to you, your church life and your personal ministry, but do not and should not, be allowed to come between you and your relationship with God.

5. Soli Deo gloria "glory to God alone"

You and I are not worthy of any glory or praise. Jesus did it all - He came - lived - died - rose again. He paid the price, submitted his life, and made the ultimate sacrifice to bring sanctification to everyone. You are called a saint because of what He has done for you and because of what He will do through you. You are holy only due to the power of the Holy Spirit living in your life.  You are to not praise mankind, but praise the Lord who is the author and perfecter of your faith.

Is God Pounding On The Door Again?

Right now - I pray that the Holy Spirit is pounding on the door of your heart, mind, and spirit His theses. There will probably be more than 95 things He will direct you to examine and hand over to His leadership and direction. God wants you to live a reformers life and have a reformation mindset. God will use you to share the Good News, teach the Word of the Lord, and to minister as a passionate servant leaders in these strategic days.

What can you do?

1.  Like Luther - get in the Word of God - read it yourself! Do not let others interpret the Word for you. Let the Holy Spirit guide you.

2.  Know what you believe and be convinced of it - Study the Word and never stop learning! It may sound illogical, but by your committing to never stop reading, sharing, asking, discussing,  or questioning God's Word actually guarantees you that you will become convinced of what is really true.

3.  Take the time to pray, praise, worship, and relax with your Creator. The spiritual disciplines are not for a season but for all seasons of life. God brings wisdom and clarity as you mature. While the eyes may fade with time - the mysteries of God get clearer as you spend more time with Him. Luther said that there were two things that helped him fight, "Theology and Music"!  When you know what you believe you have the courage to fight for God but when you have His song on your heart you have the will to fight no matter what may come.

4. Do not be afraid to stand alone - even if culture, the religious, family, friends, or foes all rise up against God's principles and Word, you must stand with Him. You may be called on to do some pounding on the doors of many cultural sacred cows and before some intellectual giants, but God will be with you. His Holy Spirit will illuminate and direct you.

5. Always do what you know to do - no matter if there is praise or perils. Doing what God puts before you to do is key to seeing mighty moves of God all around you. It may seem small or insignificant but so was nailing a paper to a church door!

Get out your hammer and get ready. Take out your pin and prepare to write. Take out your Bible and begin to study.

Is that a pounding I hear at the door?

(I wrote this for my son, Keith Cook Jr. He is such an inspiration to me. He has a passion for Christ that amazes me. He is not living off his dad's faith - He is living with the same faith. He has his own unique personal Sola experience - but I see the same Word, Faith, Grace, Christ, and desire to give God the Glory. As Christ pounded on my heart and wrote on my heart what I was to champion - so is He writing on His. )

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for your local church body and Christians worldwide that we will return to our roots and the biblical foundations that are near to the heart of God: Scripture, Faith, Grace, Christ, and God to be Glorified.

Perfect Peace

 Perfect Peace by Joan Cook

"Peace, I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27

Recently, I was driving down the road and noticed an airplane making it's approach to land. I couldn't help but notice that even though it was a cloudy and windy day, the airplane seemed to be flying smoothly. Because I have flown many times, I knew that even though the plane may look like it's flying smoothly, more than likely, the passengers were experiencing a little turbulence on their landing approach, due to the weather.

Isn't that a lot like life? We may look at someone else's life and conclude that everything looks great from the outside, when in fact, their life may be filled with turbulence on the inside. In fact, you may be the person that everyone thinks has it all together, when on the inside, you fill like you are falling apart.

The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ has given us His peace. Not the kind of peace that the world can give, but the peace that passes understanding. In your turbulent situations, do not let your heart be troubled! Choose today to accept His peace into your life.

Daily Prayer Focus: Praise God for the perfect peace which can only come from God, our Father.

Questions For Modern Ministers

Questions For Modern Ministers by Keith Cook

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears..." 2 Timothy 4:3

I have a few questions for modern day ministers, preachers, evangelists, and Christian workers. I will address each question to a particular style of expression of ministers on the scene in today's modern church culture. The category terms are used by the secular and religious media to describe certain types of ministers.

My reason for stating each category or type of minister in a general way is so we can see strengths and weaknesses, value and dangers, of each manifestation of leader without getting off on personalities and individuals. Character assassination is never "Christian" and should not be tolerated in any of today's ministers.

I do not have the right to correct or rebuke an individual without first going to the individual, praying with the person, and examining the scriptures in their presence in order to come to Godly conclusions and allow for restitution, resolution, and reconciliation. Then the Bible teaches that if the matter is not resolved then I am to bring it before the leaders of the church to try to go and do the same thing. Going public with my impressions and dislikes about another Christian is not Biblical. I fear much of our speaking on the radio, debating on the television, blogging on the internet, and publishing in books that names other Christians by name that we disagree with is counter productive to restoration and lasting revival in the church. Getting into camps and defending positions does not promote the Gospel but does cause division.

Here are my questions and observations:

1. Faith Healers

Is it really a lack of faith that keeps people from being healed or could it be that God gives mercy and grace even to those in sickness and health? What of the men and women mentioned in Hebrews who lived by faith, but had all kinds of misfortunes and even lost their lives? Could it be that the Bible teaches us to trust God in whatever state we live in? Wearing glasses, going to the doctor, taking medicine, praying for healing, and trusting God are all modern expressions of faith, not just being healed. Faith without works is dead. Presuming on God is not faith but folly. Hearing from God and believing the Word of God leads to faith and assurance.

Having preached around the world and seen God move others to faith in Christ as well as seeing God move in the area of healing has led me to understand the heart of those who have a gifting in the area of healing. I also know that there are millions of people who have faith, live right, are going to Heaven, who live their lives with certain infirmities and external situations that they have no control of. I have seen God heal the blind, provide funds, jobs, restore marriages and so much more. But I have also seen Him give peace to families who have just lost a loved one, comfort to those whose spouses never return, and deliverance by medicine and time.

2. Prosperity Preachers

Does it really make one more spiritual to be rich? Are God's riches for this world or are they spiritual in nature? The Bible teaches that God has a portion for each of us. God does not want us to live below the portion or provision He has for us, but this is not the same thing as claiming riches and demanding God provide desires and soulish impressions.

God does want to bless us. He wants to give us good gifts. His riches are everlasting and His benefits are astonishing. In Biblical times Jesus taught slaves how to live right even while being slaves. He did not promote slavery but did not tell slaves to just give all their money away and they will be a master too. He taught them how to live for God in whatever state they found themselves. He taught fishermen how to let down their nets for a catch that blessed them with great temporary wealth but then later asked them to give it all up and come follow him. He told them they would not have a place to rest, live a hard life, even loose their life. That does not sound to prosperous to me - yet it made them the richest men in history. Wow, God's view of prosperity is being in the center of His provision for us. What a great place to be. Knowing that God will provide is much better than trying to get rich and do it all on your own strength.

3. Relational Ministers

Just making friends for Jesus sounds good but does just being an example result in someone knowing the truth, hearing the truth and actually coming to faith in Christ. Jesus commanded us all to go into all the world and preach, teach, baptize, bless, help, and inspire everyone. God has given all of us friends, opportunities, and situations that are a part of His divine plan for reaching all mankind with the message of Christ. If we fail to share the good news and simply wait until they are inspired by our life they may actually already be in the next life that would be in Hell.

4. Bible Thumpers

Jesus used stories, parables, examples, and love to share the message of salvation. Just knowing certain passages and forcing them on people does not result in salvation. Many simply agree with the message in order to get away from the messenger. Beating people up in Jesus name is not Good News, it is spiritual assault and battery and can result in disillusioned adults who obeyed commands earlier in life, but had no joy and abandon the faith.

5. Social Gospel Advocates

Just sharing a cup of water in Jesus name will not get people into Heaven. You can clean up a life, heal a body, comfort an emotional being, and give a hand up to all who have a need and still end up with respectable, healthy, happy, educated, and emotionally stable lost people. You must share the rest of the story. Jesus came to save sinners - who even the most educated and blessed are counted as! It may sound old fashioned but it is part of the whole Gospel.

6. Motivational Speakers

Positive thinking and feeling good about yourself and having a healthy self-esteem are vital to being a well balanced individual but being positive does not negate the fact that we are not basically good people - we are by nature and choice sinners. At our core there is the proof of our real state. Left to our own devices we do not get better. Education, wealth, power and position do not guarantee goodness - only self-righteousness. It is not what I think that is important but rather what God thinks of me. Only in Christ am I complete. It is only by repentance and dependence on Him that I can soar on wings like an eagle. It is not enough to be inspired by devotional preaching and the politically correct socially acceptable tickling of my emotions and soul - I need the truth. I need to hear the Word! I need to know what God says about everything!

7. Intellectual Teachers

Boring a generation with our knowledge or getting rational consent to premises is not Biblical salvation. It is not the law or even our understanding of the Word that brings life. It is Christ, drawing us by the power of the Holy Spirit that brings us to a place of repentance and acceptance of the claims of Christ. The emotions, joys, and relationships of life are all a vital part of knowing the fullness of Christ. God uses the combination of the intellect, the power of the Word of God, the encouragement of the saints, the filling of the Holy Spirit, and the daily presence of the Lord to motivate us to live and mature in Christ.

My wife, Joan, is a fantastic teacher of the Word. She spends over 40 hours preparing her lessons. She then is able to bring the Word to life. She is energetic, passionate, tender, and still very evangelistic and open to the moving of the Spirit. This kind of expression of the gift of the teacher is needed today. Not just the scholar who thinks they are better than others or knows something that most will never grasp. We need to know the Word, Share the Word, and Live the Word. Getting the Word out is so needed but not by Intellectual snobs.

8. Judgmental Prophets

Calling another minister a devil is not spiritual. Yelling at people as they enter meetings or screaming at them as they walk down the sidewalk that they are going to hell is not an effective way to win someone to Christ.

Knocking other forms of evangelism because they are fresh, modern, effective, or simply another way to get to the Word out is not Biblical. Jesus and the apostles used all forms of evangelism available in that day.

To some they shared one on one, others in small groups and some were relational while some were sensational.

Many shared with their families and friends while some dared go to the untouchables of their day.

God used mass evangelism, church programs, one on one, and divine appointments.

Some were challenged by Paul to look to the unknown God, whiles some were rebuked for being hypocrites. Some would say one method was "God has a wonderful plan for your life" and the other was "Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand'!  One would be consider a soft approach while the other more confrontational. God used both. He still does today. Neither way left out any of the essential elements of coming to Christ. God just used the Holy Spirit to lead the messenger in what to say and when.

We need to stop judging others and simply share what God leads us to share. Never tear down another way to share Christ to elevate your favorite or preferred way.

9. Sloppy Agape Messengers

"Just believe - that's all you have to do..."  "God loves you and will not send you to hell." " We all are working for the same thing." "All roads lead to heaven if you are sincere..." " Just pray this prayer and no matter what you do you are going to heaven..."

I have been to meetings where the speaker stood and shared story after story -  getting the crowd emotional and then at the end simply said pray this prayer with me and God will take you to heaven and your life will be wonderful from this night on. No more problems, no more worries" He never shared the gospel. There was reference to Jesus but not the penalty for sin, plight of sinners, condition of lost, God's way to salvation, need for Christ, benefits of faith in Christ, or steps to coming to real belief and trust in Christ.

There are no magic words that save. The sinners prayer is not magical - but calling out to God in faith believing in Christ with a Godly sorrow for ones sins and a total abandonment of one's whole being to God and trust in His leading does result in salvation. One does not have to say it right, understand it all, or feel anything, Yet salvation comes to them that really believe, repent, and call on the Lord.

10. Spirit Led - Bible Fed - God Called - Servant Leaders

I am sure there are other modern day expressions of ministers that I have left out. God wants us to have faith, trust Him for our portion, win all we have a relationship with, be bold, help the needy, inspire others to greatness, know the Word, not be polluted by the world, and really know what and in whom we believe. You see there is value to many of the personalities listed above - but there is also danger. Do not follow man but God. Put your trust in Him.

Preachers of the Gospel, teachers of the Word, modern day ministers - make sure you are listening to God and following His path for your ministry. Just because someone is on television, writes books, has a following are we to imitate them. We are to follow the Messiah, Jesus.  Some of my closest friends are great authors and preachers. They inspire me to go to Christ and learn from Him. They never take the credit or promote themselves. They would never want to take the Glory that belongs only to Christ. And we should never give it to them - but to Him!

God is looking for servant leaders to lead his people to the truth. He is calling many to serve Him in these last days. He is needing them to become men and women of the Book - the Bible and He is needing them to be led by the Spirit.

It is my prayer that all of us that call ourselves ministers of the Gospel would really get a fresh word from God and share it His way, at His time, with His Power. Oh, now is the time to do more, try more, and see more than ever before. We live in such a Godless and perverse generation. Let us do our part in being in Christ so that as watchmen we watch and warn just as in Bible days!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray for a fresh Word from God today then ask God for the opportunity to share His Story with someone in need.

On The Go Prayer Focus: Keith Cook Crusades, Celebrations, and Festivals. God has given Keith the opportunity and privilege of sharing the message of Christ both stateside and internationally. During each opportunity, Keith presents a joyful and enthusiastic, yet powerful and clear presentation of the Gospel and a call to commitment to Christ.

Who's Spirit Is In You

Who's Spirit Is In You by Keith Cook

"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)

Do you know that you can have a spirit in you? You really can. In this season where the devil, witchcraft, spooks and goblins are talked about with such ease it is good to know what we are really up against as Christians.

God gives us spirits. He actually gives us a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline.

We can also get a very negative and defeating spirit. This is the spirit of timidity or fear.

In our culture today it is imperative that Christians resist the spirit of fear and embrace God's spirit of love, discipline, and power. Fear is trust and faith in the Devil. That is in direct conflict with trust, which is total faith and dependence in God.

When we do not witness because of fear, we are not functioning in Christ's power.

When we are prejudice, prideful, or envious, we are not exercising our spirit of love.

When we are neglecting our devotional life or abandoning our bodies to sloth and entertainment we are rebelling against the Lord's spirit or self-discipline that He freely gives us all.

Today decide to:

1. Reject the natural and supernatural spirit of fear.

2. Embrace God's spirit of love, discipline, and power.

3. Allow Jesus to demonstrate Himself in and through you in power. Ask God to do something so awesome in your life that it is obviously Christ working in you. Chance and luck have nothing to do with it. It must be God!

4. Even now say no again to fear and the thoughts you are having as to why this will not work for you. Trust Jesus. Do it now!

Daily Prayer Focus: Focus on God's Power in you. What powerful thing does God want to do in and through you today!

How To Escape From The Enemy

How To Escape From The Enemy by Keith Cook

"Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth." Psalms 124:8

Today I would like to share with you some key information on how you can escape from the enemy.

1. Know that victory and escape are possible. The Bible tells us that we can do all things through Christ who is our strength.

2. Know that your escape from the enemy is actually part of God's master plan and design for your life. The Bible also says that "with every temptation there is a way of escape," and you can find your way out if you trust in Jesus and follow His leading.

3. Know that you can escape if you are willing to get help. Your help ultimately will come from the Lord, yet the Lord may use a pastor, friend, parent, or professional with knowledge that you do not know.  The Bible says in our passage that our help really comes from the Name! That name is Jesus. Let Him direct you and help you find all the help you need. He can guide you to people who can help you with your finances. He can direct you to people who would love to help you with your emotional and personal problems. The church and its ministries are vast. Gone are the days that Christians have to suffer because there is no hope of help and comfort.

4. Finally know that you can have victory over the enemy if you know the Lord is on your side. He will fight for you if you are His. How can you be His?

First. You have to make sure that all of your sins are forgiven and that they are confessed up-to-date. You may have come to Christ as a child but have wandered down many sinful and evil paths during the course of your life. To have victory you have to come clean.

Second. You also need to make sure you really believe in Jesus. Put your trust in Him, not the church, not a pastor, not a doctrine, or experience. Trust Jesus.

Third. You must make sure you have asked Jesus to be your Savior and if you have done that you must make sure you ask Him to continually be Lord in your life. Make Him the first priority. Give Him access to every area of your life.

Victory and escape from the enemy can be yours today. Reach out and take it by faith. Your victory march will be sweet!

Daily Prayer Focus: Ask God to show you areas in your life that are in bondage to the lies that the devil has tried to trap you under. Praise God that He has equipped you to fight against the enemy's strongholds and claim the victory in Christ.

The Enemy

 The Enemy by Keith Cook

"If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:" Psalm 124: 2, 3

Did you know that you have an enemy aggressively trying to defeat you. He is not a terrorist or a physical robber who breaks into your home through conventional means. He attacks through spiritual, emotional, and mental avenues.

The Enemy

1. He fights you continually and is very dangerous. There is never a time when you can relax and let anything slide. You must be on guard all the time for his traps, snares, and advances. He is looking for any way he can to get in and mess up your life.

2. He also fights God and is destined to be defeated by God. You are on the winning side! Cheer up and fight from victory.

The Enemy's Plan

1. The enemy wants to snare and trap you. Traps can be sexual, financial, emotional, and even cultural.

2. He also wants to swallow you alive. He wants to literally take you out and ruin your reputation, your health, and your life. He wants to cause a Christian to have a premature death.

3. He is angry at you for your stand for Christ and directs other's anger to be kindled against you. He loves for anger to smolder constantly in your life and will not only try to use anger against you but to also have you become angry and out of control.

4.  The enemy wants to sweep over you and engulf you. He believes that constant pressure, rising doubts, and confusion and pain will cause you to lose heart and give up on living for Christ. But he does not know that your relationship with Christ is secure and is built on His faithfulness, not your own!

5. The enemy would like to tear you with his teeth. His desire to hurt you and feed off your pain actually drives him and his demons on. He lives off bringing pain to believers, yet you live by bringing peace and joy to all you meet. This will defeat his plan for your life.

Now that you know his plan, you can look out for signs of danger. You can prepare to escape his snares when they come. Tomorrow we will look at how to escape from him.

Daily Prayer: Praise God that there is Victory in Jesus over the enemy and his plan to entrap you. Praise God that "Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world"!

God Can Handle It

God Can Handle It by Keith Cook

Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name. 1 Chronicles 29:11-13

It would be a great thing if you would allow God to take control of your life. Many people try to get along without God's help. Many think of God as merely a cultural plot to keep the masses in line, but belief and submission to God is more than wishful thinking and fairy tales.

Believing in God, and having a personal relationship with Him through faith in Christ, is the beginning of a whole new way of life. It helps take the pressure off. Trusting in Christ brings hope and confidence back into one's life.

In order to let God handle it and make life complete you need to rely on the following divine truths and apply them to your life:

1. God did create this world and knows how it should operate and function.

2. God has the right to direct and order my life.

3. God made a way for me to be forgiven of my past sin against Him by my willingness to admit and repent of my sin, my putting my trust in Him by believing in His Son Jesus, and by my sincere commitment of my life to Him in prayer.

4. God will direct my life as I surrender my life to Him.

5. God will be there for me all through my life, if I let Him.

Rest assured, if you give all of your life to Christ He can handle it. He can take you through this life and into eternity safely.

Any problem, setback, heartache, tragedy can be handled under His steady direction.

Every opportunity, adventure, quest, and project will be enhanced and maximized by allowing Jesus to lead and control.

God can handle it. Why not let Him have all your life today.

Daily Prayer Focus:  Pray and give God sovereign, complete control of every area of your life today. Pray for sensitivity to recommit areas of your life to His control.

On The Go Prayer Focus: The Interns who faithfully come to On The Go each year to work for Christ and learn how to do ministry that matters for the kingdom of God.

Designer Plates

 Designer Plates by Keith Cook

"I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:"  Deuteronomy 30:19

My wife and I travel quite often and we love to look at license plates to see where our fellow travelers are from.  It is amusing to see all the different cultural and local expressions being manifested even by a person's choice of a simple license plate. Some have the basic, cheap as you can get, license plate.  Usually these are rather boring and bland. Some of the states include their motto, bird, flag, or colors on the plates.

Some car owners we pass have chosen a "designer plate" that reflects their favorite college or football team. Several always seem to have plates that reflect a special hobby or cause. I have a friend who is into bass fishing and he sports a bass fishing license plate. I personally would rather have a fish on my dinner plate!

We are always excited to see "Choose Life" license plates because that cause is dear to our hearts. It is getting harder and harder for Christians to reflect our opinions and causes in our culture. Many states are refusing to allow Christian slogans, clubs, schools, or causes to be reflected. Not only is this unconstitutional it is also setting a horrible precedent. Eventually everyone will just assume it is right because it has been done this way for so long. Is it not amazing that evil and humanism is creeping into every area of an individual's life, even our license plates.

On a personal and spiritual level we all need to remember that our lives are also special and by design. We have a designer and His name is Jesus. Each of us is special and unique to our God. We are not a standard run of the mill licensed un-human being. He knows our name, needs, and nature. The hairs on our heads are numbered, as are our days. We are humans created in the image of God. Our fingerprints are all different and our paths in life are all different.

1. Your designer has designed you with care. No matter how you feel about your life and yourself right now, God wants you to know He cares for you and that you are "fearfully and wonderfully made." You life is not an accident. You are not here simply because of biological functions. You are not a freak of nature or destined to aimlessly plod through life.

2. Your designer has designed you for a purpose. God has a divine plan for you. The Bible says, "no man can thwart God's plan." His ways are not always our ways. The diving mystery is how God has a plan for us and we still have a choice to follow or abandon His plan. His irresistible grace to us is free and special.

Every path and plan of God is designed for their good and for the good of all mankind. The wonderful journey we all are on called life is made special and exciting as we explore and discover what each new day brings and move even farther out of our comfortable present reality into the uniqueness of unchartered territory that God calls our future.

3. Your designer has designed you with a choice to make. All great men and women have decided to follow the plan God has for them. Even secular individuals who have risen to the head of their peers and made great strides for mankind did so because they decided to accept the challenges before them and do what they were designed to do. God directs and controls even those who lead out in our culture. He directed Pharoah in Moses' day and He even directs Democrats and Republicans today.  What about you? Why not ask Jesus what He would have you do and then decide to simply do it. No matter what. No matter the cost. No matter the strain. No matter - period! What will you do?

4. Your designer has designed you for greatness. I know it is hard to imagine but you are the greatest person who will ever be residing in your body. No matter what pagan religions say, you are the only you that you will ever be. Why not be a great you. Some are born with great hurdles to overcome. With God's help and with personal commitment to Christ and to His call on their lives they become all God would have them to be.

There are no excuses. No handicaps in the kingdom of God are allowed to stop anyone from using their present day to shine for Jesus. Even Samson who had given away the secret to his success to an evil woman, was allowed to shine for his God even at his death. Nothing can stop you from making this day God's day! Forget the past, confess all the failures and shortcoming and move on out from here to greatness.

What is the greatest thing you can do today? Just simply do what Jesus leads you to do. A cup of cold water in Jesus name is often more precious than a million dollar endowment. Just simply being where Jesus wants you to be when He wants you to be there and doing what He wants you to do is enough. The angels in heaven stand in amazement at all men and women can do for Christ. Will you become great today?

5. Your designer has designed you for Heaven. That's right. God wants you in heaven with Him one day. His desire is for you to leave this life "after you have served your generation" and then live with Him forever. The good news is that you have been designed by Christ to live with God forever.

After death your spirit and soul will be destined for eternity. For those with a right relation with Christ they will live forever in heaven with God. For those who reject God's earthly plan for their life they will live forever in Hell. Hell was never designed by God for humans. It is for the devil and demons. But sin cannot live in Heaven. "Sinners," those who have never allowed Jesus shed blood and sacrifice to remove and pay the penalty for their sins, will live in Hell forever. Jesus said that no one should desire to leave this life and live outside heaven with God.

In order to live forever in heaven when you die you must confess your sins to God, believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior, ask Jesus to come be your Savior. When you put all your trust and hope in Christ He will give you a home in heaven and give you purpose, hope, peace, and direction in life.

You have been designed to only be happy in Jesus. Your designer did a great job on you. Reflect His design to the world today.

Daily Prayer Focus:  Choose today to walk in the center of God's will for your life. Pray that you will walk in obedience and in contentment to God's Designer Plan for  your life.

It's A Fact

It's A Fact by Keith Cook

But I fear that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your minds may be corrupted from a complete and pure devotion to Christ.  2 Corinthians 11:3

The Fact is this, Jesus Is Real - Heaven Is Real - The Devil Is Real - Hell Is Real.

No matter what you have heard, read, or seen on television, God is not dead, Jesus was more than a prophet, and eternity will be waiting for everyone when they die.

The cultural elite want to program God out of our culture.

They want everyone to be free to live a hedonistic life, with no rules, no guilt, no authority figures, no responsibility for decisions.

They see the Church, the Bible, and Christians as being old fashioned, outdated, narrow minded, and lacking intelligence.

Yet, nothing has changed since the foundation of the world.

The devil came to Eve, in the garden, and basically tried the same thing:

The devil tried to get Eve to question God's word.

The devil wanted Eve to try to analyze God's commands.

The devil took Eve down the destructive path of trying to critique the value of following God through obedience to the will and commands.

Eve fell for it and so did Adam. Mankind has been falling for it ever since.

Today you need to live by the Facts as presented by God in His Word.

Instead of questioning God's Word you must study God's Word and allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate your heart and mind to all the riches and treasures found within its pages and precepts.

Flee from the temptation of analyzing God's commands and just do what He says do. His ways are not our ways. His wisdom is from the beginning and the end. He knows everything, sees everything, can do anything. We know little, see through clouded eyes, and can not do most things. By just doing what God instructs us to do eliminates the limitations of man being in charge and opens up the potential of an almighty, all powerful, all knowing God being in control.

Instead of critiquing the value in following Christ rely on Christ. Eagerly look to Him for direction, comfort, and provision. Living life on His highest plane will bring a wealth of reward and security.

Today God is calling you to live your life in the facts as presented to you in His Word. It's a fact you can rely on. It's a fact you can depend on. You can stake your life and future on it too!

Daily Prayer Focus: Pray that God will allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate your heart and mind to the riches and treasures in God's Word!

On The Go Prayer Focus: All the Ministry Partners, Missions, Missionaries that On The Go ministers with. It takes team work to make the dream of reaching the world a reality.
